Chapter 18: The beginning of an adventure for a year
A major time skip is about to occur.
Time passed, and not much changed, except that Asta began training with a sword. During the process, thanks to sparring with Yuno, it was discovered that weapons suppress mana. One item stood out above all—the rusty iron shield. It didn't reflect or cancel out magic; instead, it absorbed it. As the shield was used, the magic accumulated within it, and then, at the owner's will, the stored magic could be released all at once, causing severe damage to the surrounding forest.
The second weapon was a rusty sword. It mainly cut through magic, but during one sparring session with Yuno, when Asta struck toward Yuno, anti-magic burst from the sword. It flew exactly where Asta was aiming, hitting Yuno. As a result, Yuno couldn't use magic for 15 seconds, which allowed Asta to win.
The third weapon was throwing knives. When they hit the body, they slowly absorbed mana, which weakened magic as a result. Because Asta injured Yuno with these knives, Father Orsi gave him a heavy scolding.
Thanks to these items, Asta's abilities improved significantly, and he began to develop in a new direction. But the developments didn't stop with him. After a series of defeats at Asta's hands, Yuno started training with a sword, using it more and more during battles when he couldn't use mana.
By the way, regarding the spatial pouch filled with items from David, most of the contents were expensive items that could bring in a good amount of money, but five vials of potion stood out. According to David, these potions could heal anything—even grow back lost limbs. However, he added that they couldn't restore lost blood; the body had to heal that on its own.
David occasionally visited the village and quickly became friends with the locals. This continued for two years, until one day, when David came again and asked 14-year-old Asta to go with him.

Dialogue:
— Hey, Asta, how's it going?
— I'm good, David. How about you?
— I'm fine. Listen, I have a favor to ask. Can you go on an adventure with me?
Asta tilted his head, looking at David with a questioning expression. David continued:
— Come with me. I want to visit different corners of Clover. Let's go on an adventure for a year. Don't you want to? By the way, we'll go to dangerous places and even visit the capital. This will help you with your dream. Trust me, there's one place that will help you, and once you overcome it, you'll experience heavenly pleasure.
Asta, hearing these words, seemed excited, but he still decided to ask one thing:
— Why do you want this?
David cleared his throat and answered honestly:
— In a year, I'll be leaving for another kingdom, and I want to spend the last year traveling through parts of Clover I haven't seen. So, are you in?
Asta nodded but then suddenly remembered:
— I agree, but you need to convince Father Orsi. He probably won't let me go.
— Hm? Convince someone? Hmph! Wait here. Convincing people is my second name, — David said, proudly puffing out his chest, and walked into the church. Five minutes later, he came out with a victorious look on his face.
— I couldn't change Father Orsi's mind. He even yelled at me, but his mood quickly passed. He whispered something in my ear, — David said with a smirk.
Asta, hearing this, looked anxious and asked:
— Are you sure? If they catch me or when I return, I'll be in big trouble.
— Remember, Asta, this is all for your dream, — David said, his voice now filled with manipulation.
At that moment, out of nowhere, Secre appeared, quickly landing on Asta's head. She looked at the two of them as if asking what they were talking about, but they just acted like nothing serious was going on, and they quickly went their separate ways to their homes.
The next morning, Asta found a note on his bed: "I'll be back in a year :)"
