Chapter 2: First Steps in a New Reality
Standing in the middle of an unfamiliar clearing, I let out a slow breath, steadying myself. The realization that I was truly here—alive, in the MCU—was still settling in. My body felt powerful but foreign, like wearing armor I had yet to fully adjust to. I needed information, resources, and most importantly, a plan.
I closed my eyes and focused. The ability to sense mutants and meta-humans was a gift I hadn't expected to be this refined. Their signatures pulsed like embers scattered across the landscape, some dim, others burning with an intensity that hinted at incredible power. And there, farther away but unmistakable, a concentration of signatures clustered together. A city.
New York. It had to be. If I was in the Marvel Universe and there were mutants, then this was either a world where the X-Men existed, or something close to it. Either way, it was a starting point.
I turned in the direction of the city, rolling my shoulders. My body responded smoothly, strength thrumming through every movement. There was no hesitation, no weakness—only potential. But raw power meant nothing without control. Testing my abilities had to come first.
I ran through what I knew. I had five quirks, the only ones accessible to me right now:
Superhuman Strength – My physical power was well beyond human limits, though I wasn't sure of the exact extent yet.
Enhanced Senses – My hearing, smell, and sight were sharper than any normal human's, allowing me to perceive my surroundings in incredible detail.
Basic Regeneration – I wasn't unkillable, but minor wounds would heal significantly faster than normal.
Air Walk – I could step on air itself, though controlling it felt shaky, like walking on ice.
Quirk Sense – The ability to detect mutants and powered individuals in my vicinity, their unique energies appearing to me as glowing auras.
I smirked. This is going to be fun.
But I needed more than just powers. I needed clothes, food, money—basic necessities. Strolling into a city looking like a lost experiment wasn't an option.
My stomach growled, and I sighed. Survival came first. I needed to find shelter, figure out how to navigate this world, and most importantly, start thinking about my next move.
There were countless threats in this universe, but I wouldn't be a victim. Not now, not ever.
I took my first step forward, determined.
Ascension begins now.
