Ascension of the Monster Queen

That night, while Nessa was sleeping, within her dreams she began seeing the life she used to had up to the point where she was pulled to this world and she paid attention to every detail from it, including the appearance of the mark that had appeared under her and the presence she felt at the time.

Nessa's brows furrowed as she focused on the shadow she had seen within her mind, when she first came to her and the way he looked at her.

She wondered who it was and knew that so far, among the people around her or even those she had met before, she had never personally met him but knew that he was bad news.

After a long and tiring night, trying to figure out more about her connections to it all, the next morning, when Nessa woke up, she stretched off before getting out of her bed and just then, she saw the demon before her.

Due to being startled, she was about to hit him, but he grabbed onto her cuff, pulling her closer to him and she looked him directly in the eyes as he stared into hers and her eyes narrowed.

"W- What's with you?" She asked, moving away from him and his eyes arrowed, then a smirk appeared on his face.

"Nothing, I was just waking you up, you are quite a sleeper, aren't you?" He asked and she exhaled deeply.

"That's because I must have been tried from overworking so much lately, thanks, I am going to go freshen up," She responded, then grabbed her clothes, as he sat on the couch, looking at her.

Nessa saw him staring and she scoffed, trying her best to ignore him then went to freshen up, since she had many important things to do.

A little while after, just when she had finished taking her bath, she passed by a mirror then stopped in her tracks and her eyes widened, when she saw a glowing mark on her back, which was mixed with that of a hand print and as she stared at it.

She saw darkness and within that darkness, piercing red eyes looking at her and her brows furrowed as she lowered her gaze, wondering what was going on with her and she soffed.

"The one who brought me to this world, partially marked me without even realizing it?" She mumbled as a smirk appeared on her face, then she got dressed and exited the bath.

The demon glanced at her and his eyes narrowed, knowing that something was up with her and she looked at him as he approached her and she sighed.

"What's the matter? Come on, let's have breakfast then you can get along with your day," She said as she walked away and he followed her without even saying anything, paying close attention to her behavior.

That morning, Nessa was absolutely bothered by what she was finding out, including the dots that she was connecting, she knew that things were going to get worse and she had to change a few courses to turn things to their disadvantage.

When they finished eating their breakfast, Nessa grabbed a bag and was going to leave but at the same time, Sai appeared in front of her, the minute she opened the front door and her brows furrowed.

"Good morning, lady Nessa," He said.

"Good morning, Sai," She replied.

"Are you going somewhere?" He asked.

"I was just going to look into a few things, that's all, why? Is something wrong?" She asked and he exhaled deeply, before yawning.

"Yeah, I destroyed one of their base last night," He responded and her eyes widened as she stared at him.

"What?" She asked.

"Actually, it is my fault, we were out looking for more leads when we bumped into a few of them, they are up to no good, I am the one that pulled my blade," Riki responded as he approached her and she lowered her gaze.

"Did anyone see you guys?" She asked.

"No, no one saw us, it was too hard for them and we weren't stupid enough to show our horns," Sai responded and the demon scoffed.

"Also, about the attack on the kingdom you went to, it happened in all of the weak spots, whoever was with the enemies, they knew the king's weak spots and they targeted it, the person is a strategist, it won't be easy finding him and maybe it is someone in power as well," Riki said and she sighed.

"Yeah, I have been suspecting that, well you guys didn't do anything wrong, a fight will be coming either way," She replied.

"How far does your suspicion goes?" Riki asked and she looked back at him with her eyes narrowed and he scoffed.

"I am pretty sure she is close to figuring it all out, well at least the first half, this runs deeper than we think, that much I am certain of, also, you are in for a surprise today," The demon said and they looked at him.

"They have started making their move, they took out a leader already, it's only a matter of time, they have begun getting rid of those in their way and those who they believe have the potential of getting in their way," He said as he glanced at her and Nessa exhaled deeply, for she understood what he was getting at.

"I can protect myself, I am going to go to the holy land, I want to meet with the leader there, they are against us, I know that much, but still," She said and the demon smirk as he looked at her.

"Form an alliance with at least one of the demon lords first, is that your plan as well?" He asked and the others exchanged glances as she looked back at the demon then sighed.

'As always he always knows more, but what did he mean by that just now? It's not just me being targeted right? I feel as though he is implying something else,' She thought when she heard some call out her name.

Nessa's eyes widened as she turned around and a bright beam of light appeared in the city for a split second before disappearing and her brows furrowed as she heard a crash and all of them took off, to see what was going on.
