"Umu—did Yggdrasil end? Why is it so dark?" Momonga asked no one, and panic started forming in his mind.

Momonga was just floating in the sea of nothingness. The place devoid of any light or creatures can be called the personification of the Abyss, a place so deep that not even light can reach.

He tried to move his body parts, but nothing was there. It was like he could feel his body but at the same time, he felt nothing.

"Where am I? Well, shitty devs if you are doing some prank, know that a huge lawsuit is waiting for you all. "He tried more things like shouting" I've been held, exit, and forced exit, words make for players to instantly disconnect from the Dive gear...But all he got was silence.

After some time, a thought came to his mind about the news he heard while commuting to his office about a guy, who got electrocuted due to an overload in his Dive gear due to a lack of Nanomachines.

"W...w... wait am I Dead? Did the Dive gear also fry my brain?" Soon some outer force acted on his brain making the afraid and scared Momonga calm again.

"What was that? And why am I so calm in this situation?".

"Well, this place does not represent heaven or hell."

Time passed, maybe years, centuries, or millennia, because the place was devoid of the concept of time. It felt smaller than a second from the other's perspective but for Momonga it was a lot. He could only do one thing, which was to wait—wait but wait for what? Momonga didn't have any relatives, or parents to take care of, nor was he in a relationship to have a girlfriend waiting for him, nor any friends who would truly want him to return—all he got was Yggdrasil, the place

he called his home, but it's gone. The servers were probably shut at the time his brain fried.

Momonga chuckled remembering the last thing he spoke to some person, well it was an NPC made by some lines of code, but for him, she was a person.

"Because I'll always be with you—ha, it feels like my friends who constantly gave me false hope. That's why I can't help but say that I did the same with Rubedo, giving her false hope too." He laughed and continued, "I, Momonga, the ruler of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, will always be with you. Tsk... What a joke. All lies—lies—lies. If only I had the power to back up my promise. Why... Why are all the things I wanted to be taken from me? My mother is gone, my friends are gone, Yggdrasil is gone, and here I am—nothing more than... I don't even know what I am anymore. I can't feel anything, I can't see anything, I can't move my body. All I can do is exist in this darkness."

Another wave of some force hits him again, giving a calming effect.

Momonga wanted to scream again, scream all the frustration out, but finally after a long time. He saw the light. Something coming closer, as the light was coming closer to him the one light divided into two, three, four, five, six, and seven. There was the one thing Momonga never expected, the one thing that symbolized the great time he had in his life, the one thing that he could say he was proud of, the one thing that symbolized his friends and his guild Ainz Ooal Gown. The strongest guild weapon of all Yggdrasil, The Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown.

"Ha—why's the staff here?... Am I seeing things?" He chuckled and continued. "Now I can't even distinguish what is real or not."

He was going to continue, but then he heard the voice. After a long time, he finally heard something.

"[Entity Momonga found... commencing reincarnation.]"

"Wai..wait—what?... Reincarnation?" Momonga shouted.

"[Failed!!...Retrying]"

"[Failed!!...Retrying]"

....

This went on more than a few thousand times. Momonga could only just listen, not able to do anything he screamed, and screamed but the voice never answered.

"[Reincarnation failed... no race Overlord found.]"

"What Overlord?"

"[Creating a new vessel, with race template overlord.]"

"Wait, tell me what you are doing with me?" Momonga asked the voice again, hoping to get a response but it went in vain.

With that, Momonga, now in this Overlord form, was floating in the dark, next to the Staff of Momonga. He tried moving his arm to get hold of the staff, but again all his actions were in vain. The outer force was hitting his mind now at a rapid speed making him calm again and again.

"[Commencing... Overlord racial traits into skills.]"

"These skills are based on an Overlord's racial abilities. Well, let's see where it goes." With that, all race traits of Momonga were commenced into racial skills or abilities.

"[Commencing skills mitigation...converting spells and skills from Yggdrasil...]"

After hundreds of skills were transformed into common, extra, unique, and intrinsic forms, the process of reincarnation began. Suddenly, an intense rush of energy—so powerful and pure it could be compared to something beyond godliness, struck him. The pain was so overwhelming that destruction seemed easier than enduring the full force of this holy energy. It was so potent that even his undead body started shattering and the damage was so high that his soul was slowly ripping apart. He found himself powerless; he couldn't move or defend against it—all he could do was feel the pain, and hope that his torturer saw his near-ending condition and stop.

Time passed but the holy energy never stopped piercing his soul, making Momonga's consciousness slowly fade away. Coming to the near end when he lost all hope for survival, he felt something, something similar, he could feel something in his body acting strange, the entire place shining red making even the Staff visible. He saw that his Orb, the World item Momonga possesses, one of the big twenty, was glowing so brightly that it could even put the brightness of the sun to shame. He could feel the pain go away.

"[Entity Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown want to establish a soul corridor.]"

"What...what soul corridor?" Momonga asked but after getting no response from the being he thought. 'Is that soul corridor thing some kind of connection.' After seeing that things were going nowhere, sighing he just said. "Yes."

"[Soul corridor ...established successfully.]"

With that, the orb that was menacingly glowing became stable. Momonga could now feel his soul which was on its wits ends due to that holy power, was now healed fully.

"Ainz Ooal Gown, My master, The Ruler of death." Said a faint voice.

"Huh..."

"[Finalizing reincarnation...]" With that, all senses of Momonga halted.

Inside a cave in the forest of Jura.

"Rubedo, get away from him. I got a bad feeling seeing all this burst of magicules." said Rimuru who was coming closer to Rubedo, who was holding Momonga.

"No." Rubedo ignored Rimuru's advice, if being with Momonga damaged her, she would take it wholeheartedly, nothing in this world can make her stay away from her love.

Rimuru clicked his non-existent tongue and started coming towards the couple. 'Ahh—I can't leave my new friends. Wait what if Momonga wakes up and thinks that I'm hostile and ends me? Uhh—maybe Rubedo will save me.'

Suddenly the wave of magicules stopped making the red orb inside Momonga glow faintly.

"That was a huge amount of Magicules, and what's this red ball?" said the slime, wanting to touch the red orb but Rimuru refrained seeing the power it emitted, it sure would be a bad move with something triggered due to him.

"So Rubedo Chan, what is Momonga like?" with a chuckle Rimuru asked her, wanting to elevate the mood.

"He is a great man, even when all supreme beings left us, he stayed till the end." She said caressing Momonga's skull and smiling, remembering the time he gave her the emotions she had, making her a person other than some weapon.

"Supreme Being? What is that?" Rimuru asked, surprised.

"Supreme Beings are the masters with unfathomable powers, who created the great tomb of Nazarick. There were a total of forty-one, and Momonga-Sama was the leader of them all."

'What...there are more people like him?... Yo Great sage, what are supreme beings? And can you appraise Momonga?'

'[No data of supreme beings... Appraisal is blocked by the user.]'

'Ohh...so some term from another world then.'

'[Probably yes...]'

With that, Rimuru and Rubedo just waited in the same place, chatting and waiting for Momonga to wake up. Some of the Giant bats tried to gang up on them but were easily dealt with and eaten by Rimuru.

"So Rimuru, you mimic the beings you eat." Asked Rubedo, after Rimuru showed her some of his skills.

"Yes... I hope to get a humanoid form...this form is good, but ya know the troubles of being a slime... and even thinking of eating a human sure gives me chills." Imagining about eating a human gave him the horrors, and he melted, making Rubedo laugh.

Both were laughing, suddenly the space warped and the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown appeared out of nowhere. Seeing that Rimuru's slime instincts made him fall back some steps. Rubedo never batted an eye off the staff because she knew that thing was her master's weapon, made for him by all the supreme beings.

Seeing the weapon in front of him Rimuru was in shock, the staff sure looked like some fantasy weapon of some god. Watching the staff he asked Rubedo.

"Rubedo Chaaan... You know what that odd-looking staff is?"

"This is the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown." Said someone.

Rubedo's voice was soft and comfortable. Yet the answer Rimuru received was in a voice that could be called the voice of a born ruler, so deep and commanding. He quickly turned toward Rubedo seeing Momonga back to life, his eyes were nonexistent, there were just two red flames in his eye sockets burning like, lit to end the world.

Seeing Momonga wake up, Rubedo quickly launched herself towards him, tears in her eyes as she sobbed and spoke. "Momoooongaaa—Sama, you returned." Rubbing her face on Momonga's Robe. "I...I... thought, you left too."

Seeing Rubedo all tense up and crying, Momonga was internally tense too. He has no experience with women, in panic, he thought. 'Wait—she is now real?... Ahh seeing all that happened to me in that dark place, so I'm reincarnated in some other world, as my avatar.'. Suddenly a wave of force hit Momonga making him calm.

He started patting the sobbing Rubedo's head. "Rubedo...don't cry, please. I promised you to always stay with you right.". Wiping her tears using his robe. 'So, these are the actions of the emotions I gave her...but she looks damn cute.' thinking that the emotional suppression kicked in again.

Seeing both Momonga and Rubedo act like some long-lost couple who met after a long time, Rimuru acts wiping some imaginative tears of his. Wanting to introduce himself, he made a fake cough, wanting all the attention for himself he said. "Hey there, Momonga-San, nice to meet—cha, I'm Rimuru the Slime."

Momonga seeing the slime named Rimuru was fascinated, he started coming close to him, making Rimuru back a little bit. After coming closer he asked. "Umu—tell me Rimuru-San, are you a player?"

"Rubedo also asked me the same question. I am not one of the bad people who tried to raid your home. I'm just a cute slime Slurp~~" Rimuru asked, acting all cute.

'Bad people?... Wait, did Rubedo...tell him about Nazarick, that's bad.' Keeping his hand under his chin he thought. 'And for him...', he cast a Silent Life essence. 'Umu—so a level 60 slime...and for an MP.' After casting Mana essence, he was in complete shock. 'Whaaaaaaaaaat...that slime got MP equal to a world enemy.'

'And wait, how am I able to use my magic? It's like I already know how to use all my magic.'

Momonga coughed and composed himself. "So Rimuru-san, then I suppose you are native to this world?" he thought, 'If even slimes are this powerful in this world, we are in trouble.'

"Just call me Rimuru, Momonga-San we are friends after all.", "I was a human in my previous world, I got stabbed and then reincarnated here as a slime."

'Human...' Momonga saw towards Rubedo who gave no reaction when Rimuru said to be a human in his previous life. 'Guess the neutral karma due to her golem/angelic nature makes her not mind humans.'

"Umu—then call me Momonga, so tell me Rimuru, where are we now?" he asked watching Rubedo who was just watching him and Rimuru talking.

"We are now inside a cave in the forest of Jura."

"Inside a cave I see," Momonga said, casting Life Essence and Mana Essence on Rubedo. Emotional Suppression kicked in, making Momonga gasp again. 'What the fu... Rubedo's HP is equal to a—level two hundred and for MP—a level one hundred fifty, at this level she can even conquer the entire tomb without batting an eye.'

Momonga tried hovering his fingers over the air, hoping to open the console command, but to his bad luck, nothing appeared. 'No console command, here. It sure is another world. I can feel my MP is a lot enough to cast multiple god-tier magic, but I'm unable to know how much there is. Seeing just a slime possess, stats equal to a world enemy, I need to always keep my guard up.'

Seeing Momonga doing things, both Rubedo and Rimuru were confused about what he was trying to do.

"Lord Momonga, is there any problem?" Asked Rubedo leaning closer, ready to even fight the world if commanded by her master.

Rimuru coming closer said. "Yea...Momonga if you got some questions—ask me, I got an overpowered skill called Great Sage, she knows a hell lot of stuff."

"Umu—then I'll be in your care, this world is new to me. I'm kind of adapting a bit now. Things in my world and here seem different." Momonga said, accessing the current situation.

"Take your time, it took me more than ninety days to get the hang of things." Said Rimuru trying to do a thumbs up using his slime form.

"Hmm..." Momonga extended his hands toward the staff, making it float to his grasp. 'The Staff seems to work as intended.'

Clutching the staff tightly in his hands, he cast a "Gate.". Nothing happened 'So Nazarick is not teleported here.'

Rimuru sees Momonga with a dumbfounded expression, but Rubedo who knows what's happening when saw the gate spell failed even using the staff. She was looking towards Momonga, in shock and sadness.

"Nazarick's gone, or not yet summoned in this world," Momonga spoke, showing no emotions.

Seeing Momonga all tense, Rubedo calmed herself, and with a cheerful voice spoke. "Well, you are still here Lord Momonga. Ainz Ooal Gown is not gone."

Momonga looked towards Rubedo, and with a huge laugh that echoed in the entire tomb he spoke, in his usual voice of the ultimate ruler. "You are right, Rubedo. We still have this." Clutching the staff, he lifted it in the air. "This is the symbol of my guild, my friends, and till it's in this world, Ainz Ooal Gown will never be forgotten."

Both Rubedo and Momonga were laughing. Seeing that Rimuru also starts laughing, getting the attention of the couple. Seeing them both staring at him, he coughed and stopped laughing. "Ehh—hey don't stare at me like that."

"Umm—So Momonga, what are you planning to do now?" Asked the slime Rimuru.

Listening to the question, Momonga with his hand on his chin thought for some second then said. "Not sure—but first, I need to gather knowledge about this world."

Fidgeting his fingers, Rimuru asked. "So... Can I accompany you on your journey? I may look weak, but I am kinda strong, you know. So... what do you think?"

Momonga in his signature thinking pose thought for some time, looking at Rubedo, he saw a smile. He knew the answer, giving a fake cough he crouched down and moved a hand towards Rimuru. "Welcome aboard, then Rimuru."

"Thanks." Rimuru touching Momonga's hand said with a cheerful voice. "I'll be in your care then." Hearing this both Rubedo and Rimuru start chuckling.

"I see—now Rimuru,tell me everything you have experienced since your birth here, I want to know it all." Asked Momonga, making the slime shiver with his voice.

Rimuru told everything to Momonga, about how he was stabbed, reincarnated, skills, Veldora, and all the things about Magicules, Hipokute grass, Magic-ore, and the monsters he encountered.

Listening to him, Momonga's Emotional suppression was activated a lot of times. Especially about Veldora and his skills.

'So there's no Mana here, that's why I was confused about Mana as Magicules, and the dragon was surely a fool, trusting a random person so easily, without even knowing, getting devoured.' Momonga thought of seeing both Rubedo and Rimuru chatting.

Seeing Momonga silent and in thought, Rubedo held his arm, looking up as she asked him. "So Lord Momonga, what now?"

"Let's get out of this cave now, I want to see the outside world." Saying this Momonga clutched the Staff, opening a void in space he put the staff inside the void. Seeing that Rimuru in an excited tone asked him "What is that magic, Momonga?"

"Ohh...this?— It's the Inventory." Momonga said, making the void again in space, now putting his hand inside, pulling two plates of burgers, he offered it to both Rimuru and Rubedo.

"Burr...gerrrrrrrrr!!!" Rimuru in an excited voice, took one plate.

Rubedo hesitates but when insisted by Momonga, also takes the plate and starts munching on the Burger.

With a sad voice, Rimuru said. "If I would have the ability to taste things...the demerits of being slime, can't taste things..."

'Umu—so these mana-boosting food works, but now it boosts Magicules.' Momonga thought, using mana essence on both Rubedo and Rimuru.

Seeing Momonga not eating anything, Rimuru asked. "Momonga—ya not hungry?"

Listening to that question, Rubedo also stopped eating, looking toward Momonga, she acted like she wanted to say something, getting a nod from him she said. "Lord Momonga is an Overlord, an undead of the highest existence who does not require sleep, food, or rest. Similarly, I am a golem and do not need any of these necessities."

"We all are the same, hehe—I also do not require any sleep, food, or rest," Rimuru said.

"So Rimuru, now let's exit the cave, Lead the way," Momonga asked, ready to start his new journey.

"Umm—so Momonga, I...I... don't know the way," making fake hands from his slime form, trying to hide his face Rimuru said, "I was searching for the exit too before I met you both."

"Is that so?" Momonga spoke in a low voice, thinking about something he cast "Blessing of Titania." With that a huge wave of magicules filled the area, making it concentrate on a single point, it formed a ball of dense energy. After a few seconds the energy ball dissipated and what was left was a tiny fairy, a fairy roughly twenty-thirty centimeters long, having two pairs of translucent wings, with the looks of a young girl wearing a pure white dress, the fairy sure looked pure and cute.

The fairy wobbled around in the air, after rubbing her eyes she looked toward Momonga and in an instant prostrated in the air, more like flying in the air.

Seeing the fairy, Rimuru screamed. "Cute!!"

Momonga, knowing how the spell works said "Lead us the way to the exit of the cave." After getting a salute from the fairy, all followed after the fairy with Rimuru hopping, Rubedo always trying to grab Momonga's arm when she got a chance, and Momonga always stiff as an undead.

With emotional suppression kicking in from time to time due to Rubedo trying to to be so close, 'Dammit—this is too much for my undead brain, if I was in my human body, I would have died of a heart attack.' Momonga thought, looking towards Rubedo, who was walking closely to him.

All the squad was chatting casually, except the fairy due to lack of speech, with Rimuru telling them the ways to deal with the common monsters of the cave, after some time, they reached towards a place with some eggs. Quickly the fairy ran towards Momonga, hiding in his robe. There were many nearby presences.

With no delay, Rubedo summoned her Rapier, coming in front of Momonga to guard him. Seeing her protecting Momonga, Rimuru also converted into his black snake form, and came before Momonga.

Suddenly a total of forty black snakes surrounded them, all making a hissing sound, trying to look intimidating.

"Umu—It looks like we stumbled upon those snake's nests." Said Momonga with his hand under his chin, the infamous thinking pose.

"Leave it to me...Lord Momonga." Said Rubedo, in her battle armor.

Converting back to his slime form, Rimuru looks toward Momonga and asks, "Should we retreat? There are too many of them." Just as he said that a Snake lunged towards them, and within a blink of an eye, the snake was cut into hundreds of pieces.

'Great sage, how much time did Rubedo take to end that snake?' asks Rimuru, who just got the glimpse of the snake before it was cut into hundreds of pieces.

'[It took Rubedo two hundred seventy-four milliseconds to chop the snake into pieces.]'

"That move you did… was fast Rubedo-Chan," said Rimuru, getting a smug expression in return.

Soon all the snakes started to use intrinsic skills Poison breath, making the entire place filled with a purple poisonous fog, lethal to even kill beings of great power.

"I'm done." The entire place boomed with the voice of none other than Momonga who started going towards the center of the place. Seeing that Rimuru quickly looked toward Rubedo, wanting to say 'What he's doing?' getting a quick nod from Rubedo, he was confused and said " Why are you nodding...Stop him, he will be destroyed."

"Get back you all," said Momonga, making even the fairy leave his robe and quickly fly off towards Rubedo, both Rubedo and Rimuru got back, watching what he was going to do.

Momonga used "Shockwave." making the entire purple fog disappear, he saw that the snakes were still there, and he activated his aura of despair Level one, getting covered in a dark menacing aura, enough to make even the strong-willed to lose their mind and run away, it sure did its purpose making all the snakes go away back into their burrows.

"Compared to a level seventy beasts, they sure are less powerful, to run with a simple aura of despair… I expected some fight." Momonga said to no one seeing his squad he started coming towards them.

"Hey, Momonga...disable that skill..." Shouted Rimuru, reduced to a molten state.

After hearing it from Rimuru, Momonga turned off the Aura of Despair. Watching the melted Rimuru who was coming back in his blob form and the fairy who was trembling in fear, back to her normal self, he spoke. "I thought you were strong enough to resist it." saying that he started moving toward the dead snake with Rubedo following his back.

Rimuru remembers the time when he said to Momonga about him being strong, he just shrugged. Seeing both Momonga and Rubedo near the snake he quickly hopped to meet their pace.

'Yo great sage, you appraised the thing Momonga did with those black snakes?' Rimuru asked, hoping to appraise where Momonga stands.

'[The thing did by subject Momonga, probably a work of a skill.]'

'But what was the chill I felt? I was barely able to keep up.'

'[That aura the skill emitted, probably gives a fear effect to lesser beings.]'

'Wow—you're informally implying that I'm a lesser being...Wait, Rubedo did say he was one of the Supreme beings in her world. Whatever, I got strong friends, life seems easy—hehe.'

Momonga was closely inspecting the corpse of the dead snake more like pieces of that snake, with Rubedo behind his back, looking towards the surroundings, coming closer Rimuru asked him, "What, you wanna do with the snake?" looking towards Rubedo, Rimuru said, "Looks like in bad condition."

"I want to use a skill of mine on the snake. Hope it works." With that Momonga cast "Dark Wisdom" on the snake's corpse, covering it with black fog, engulfing the entire snake inside the fog.

"So Rimuru—what's the voice that suddenly comes giving skills and all?" Asked Momonga.

"Ahh...that voice, it's like the game master of this world called the 'Voice of the world', whenever you get some new skills, she comes and says that in your mind." With a jolt of his head Rimuru asked Momonga "Wait...did you get a new skill?... Is that skill you did, similar to my predator?"

Signaling the fairy to lead the way Momonga starts moving, feeling the gazes of Rimuru he said, "I did get one, but it's just some weak insignificant skill." Momonga paused and thought for a second and spoke. "And for your next question, yes it's somewhat similar to your predator, as per you told."

Rubedo wanted to speak something but got paused seeing the fairy tugging the robe of Momonga and pointing towards the gate of the cave.

A/N

Yup need to make a small A/N, So Momonga can seem a little Out of character, but I want you to read the volume 10 bonus volume of Overlord in simple words Momonga x Keeno. He's alone with an NPC who holds no grudge against humans or outsiders due to being of neutral karma. Bone Bro is chill now.

Umu is words relating a hmm, uhm…., mhh.

And for the tons of discord dm's and PM's, that Rubedo is the strongest, she may be strongest, but Ainz Ooal Gown is a more powerful entity.

Sometimes Rubedo is referred to as a golem or angel because she now has flesh over the golem's body, like her body is made from the world item caloric stone, but she also has a race class of Angel.

And don't get confused on lines like level 60, 70, 150, 250...etc, Momonga is basically comparing the stats not saying ohh that beast is level xxx.

Both Rubedo and Momonga are adapting...
