As a Villain I Really Don’t Want To Be Pursued by the Heroine

Chapter 44

44

“The master is not a scoundrel.” Alice’s gaze darkened, her originally clear eyes turning as cold as ice, her delicate hands clenched into fists.

But when you are weak enough, even anger only provokes laughter.

“Don’t look at me with those eyes, I’m kindly helping you see the reality.”

“Tell me, what sort of person is Roy really?”

As Leanne posed the question, the sycophants immediately began to jeer.

“Incompetent! At 18, still hasn’t inherited the extraordinary bloodline!”

“Cowardly! Doesn’t dare to breathe in front of Lord Leanne!”

“And it’s not even anything of value, I bet even their own maids look down on him!”

“Princess must be blind to fancy such trash!”

Some of these words were true, some were false, but Ryan didn’t care.

As long as it tainted Roy’s image in this maid’s heart, that was enough.

Ryan just wanted to disgust him.

To make Roy’s most cherished and trusted personal maid lose all respect for Roy. Perhaps she still maintained etiquette on the surface, but privately she despised Roy in every way!

You love to appear so bright and shiny, don’t you? I’ll make sure those around you see your true colors!

“He’s not the person you say he is!” Alice glared fiercely, loudly denying.

But her denial was lost in the crude, disdainful laughter of the surrounding dandies, failing to make even the slightest ripple.

“Don’t be foolish, defending your master like that, do you really think he cares about you?” Ryan laughed heartily, enjoying the maid’s futile argument.

“Roy’s just putting on an act, and you actually believe it? He’s set his sights on Princess Charlotte, and you are nothing but a plaything. Once he’s tired of playing house, he’ll discard you anytime!”

The laughter grew more intense.

However, Alice took a deep breath and gradually calmed down.

“My master would never leave me behind.”

“Is that so? But isn’t he leaving you here right now, alone, while he’s with Charlotte?”

“So what?”

“What?” Now it was Ryan’s turn to be confused.

Alice clutched her chest, recalling the promise of that day, softly yet firmly saying, “Master promised, he would never leave me behind.”

She had indeed been tormented by the nightmare Ryan described, anxious and fearful, the mere thought of Roy and Charlotte together made her chest feel so tight she could barely breathe.

But that day, she received Roy’s personal promise.

“I will never abandon you.”

“You are always special in my heart.”

So her feelings were the same.

From noble mtl dot come

“I will always wait for my master to return.”

She didn’t believe a single word of what Ryan described.

Alice looked at the young scoundrel before her, matter-of-factly saying, “Even if master is with the princess, what of it? As a maid, it’s my duty to support my master’s happiness.”

“Being by my master’s side is enough.”

“If there’s nothing else, please excuse me.”

With that, the girl turned to leave.

Her composure silenced the rowdy, mocking dandies, leaving some of them embarrassed.

Especially Ryan.

The girl’s composure stemmed from her trust in Roy; it was impossible to drive a wedge between them.

Ah, one by one, whether it be father or Charlotte, even this mere maid, do they all adore that waste of space?!

Ryan finally shed his disguise of cold-bloodedness, his gaze at Alice flashing with a hint of ferocity.

Consequences no longer mattered.

Right, this maid is Roy’s cherished pet, isn’t she?

If she were to be broken, that waste would surely be heartbroken.

“Wait, there’s one last thing,” Ryan sneered viciously, “Since you’re so fond of your master, suffer for him a bit.”

“!”

In an instant, Ryan flung open his palm, unleashing a gust of wind, clawing towards Alice’s face.

This strike, from one who is extraordinary, had long surpassed the level of ‘suffering a bit.’

Alice felt a chill run down her spine, a power within her stirring faintly, as if alerting her to the impending crisis.

But ultimately, she couldn’t evade in time.

The blonde little maid closed her eyes in panic, helplessly kneeling and curling up on the ground, just as she had been beaten and abused countless times before.

Only this time, the anticipated heavy blow did not land on her.

Surrounding dandies gasped in shock, while Ryan let out a wail, and Alice cautiously opened her eyes.

A figure, not particularly broad, stood unshakably like a knight before her. And there was Ryan, clutching his face, half-kneeling in the distance, like a vicious dog that failed to bite.

“Master…” the girl’s eyes inexplicably welled up with tears.

As she lifted her head again, Roy’s voice was no longer gentle, only a cold as ice remained.

“Mr. Raymond seems quite idle, is he trying to discipline my maid for me?”

The surrounding dandies stirred, wary of Roy’s status and his imposing aura, not daring to come closer.

Even Ryan, facing Roy’s gaze, couldn’t help but feel a chill in his heart, his momentum weakened.

But Ryan’s pride and rage wouldn’t allow him to back down.

“To strike me, Ryan Raymond, over a mere dog?!”

The dandies thought they were just there to bully a maid, never expecting the situation to escalate into a direct confrontation between a duke and a marquis’ son. Maids from afar hurried to call for guards and elders.

But amidst this tense standoff, Roy let out an ill-timed snicker.

Roy was reflecting.

He had overestimated the bottom line of these scoundrels.

Had he arrived any later, who knows what might have happened. Old Raymond wasn’t unreasonable, and his own father would surely seek justice from him.

But that wasn’t enough.

Strength is not for harming others, but to ensure that no one dares to harm oneself and those held dear.

Compared to the crisis of defying fate, the power of “Iron Blood” may seem minuscule, yet Roy is grateful to possess it at last.

Roy tries to be a reformed good man, but since these scoundrels only understand the language of ‘power,’ he doesn’t mind being a true scion of evil!

“Hit you? Don’t misunderstand.”

Roy rolls up his sleeves, smiles gently, and says civilly, “I’m merely disciplining you on behalf of your father.”

“You dare…?!”

In an instant, Roy’s figure, like a cannonball fired from its chamber, carries a terrifying force with a frontal flying kick.

Caught off guard, Leanne, even with arms hastily raised in defense, fails to withstand the blow. Struck squarely, he’s sent flying, crashing into a sturdy long table, drenched in spilled drinks and food.

Leanne, disheveled, lifts his head marked by a shoeprint, eyes splitting with rage: “Trash him for me!”
