Chapter 61 Masterful Disguise, Reality and Illusion Intertwined
“Whoa, what the heck is happening?”
“What’s going on? Is Big Brother… is he actually scolding the program officers?”
“My god, are these officers blind? Big Brother is standing right there!”
“Hold on, did anyone catch that? Big Brother’s voice sounds different.”
In the livestream, the audience watched with a combination of shock and confusion as the scene played out.
What on earth was going on?
“Could it be a disguise? But even with a disguise, it shouldn’t be this perfect, right?”
“Check out the feed from the program officers’ view. Holy shit! That looks nothing like Big Brother. That’s clearly a middle-aged man!”
“It’s a disguise. He’s completely morphed into another person.”
As the situation developed, some viewers speculated while others quickly switched to the program officers’ point of view. When they saw Wang Yun’s completely altered appearance, they were taken aback.
A middle-aged man sporting a slicked-back hairstyle. This was a stark contrast to Wang Yun’s usual appearance.
“Oh, a misunderstanding, is it? Looking for Wang Yun? I’ve heard of him. Quite the character, I doubt you can get your hands on him,” Wang Yun remarked with a smirk, glancing at their badges.
“Hmm, Wang Yun might be something, but our Captain Hong Feng is on another level,” one of the officers responded with confidence.
“We’ll see about that. I won’t hold you up. Got my own things to attend to.”
Wang Yun flashed a cryptic smile at the two inspectors, waved, and gracefully turned to leave.
The two officers nodded in acknowledgment and continued their search.
“Whoa! If they can’t recognize Big Brother even when he’s right in front of them, isn’t he virtually unstoppable? He’s like a legendary chameleon.”
“Sure, Captain Hong Feng is formidable, but can he match our Big Brother’s prowess?”
“It’s like watching titans clash. So riveting! But it seems our Big Brother is gearing up.”
“Chills! This transformation is mind-blowing, seriously top-notch.”
Watching the live broadcast, viewers were left in awe as they witnessed Wang Yun’s calm departure. The audience was universally astounded.
Given his mastery of disguise, wasn’t he now invincible? Who could ever capture Wang Yun?
“It’s quite surprising they managed to trace me to this residential district. Captain Hong Feng, huh? He’s truly something else,” Wang Yun mused as he moved on, deep in thought.
A sharp gleam emerged in his eyes. “If they’ve pinpointed my location here, they’ve likely deduced my visit to the Guanwen Market. Given Hong Feng’s sharp wit, he’d probably check what I’ve bought… Thankfully, I had the foresight to make some additional purchases. Still, it might not take him long to realize I’ve changed my appearance. This is intriguing. Very intriguing indeed. Captain Hong Feng, is it?”
“The officers are even equipped with ‘guns,’ real ‘guns’.” Wang Yun slightly squinted, whispering, “And here I am, unarmed. Time to secure a ‘gun’ for myself.”
His lips curled into a menacing grin. The face-off had just commenced, and the stakes were already rising.
“Shall we amp up the excitement?” With a radiant smile, Wang Yun murmured to himself, hailing a cab that whisked him toward the city center.
Pulling out his phone, Wang Yun quickly looked up some information.
With unabashed transparency, he entered a toy store and bought several remote-controlled cars.
The Qingnan Residential Area, another old community marked for demolition, consisted of buildings each rising to six stories. Wang Yun ventured into one of these buildings, gathering bricks before ascending to the topmost floor.
He also held a pen and paper.
Once on the sixth floor, he softly let the bricks fall, timing their descent on his phone and jotting down calculations.
After several trials, he had penned multiple formulas on his paper. A hint of a smile played on his lips.
“Driver, to the Emperor Bathhouse.” Wang Yun took another taxi.
Fully prepped, Wang Yun revisited the Emperor Bathhouse by 9 p.m., readying himself for a relaxing evening.
“666, Big Brother’s back at the Emperor Bathhouse. Time to ramp things up?”
“Why was Big Brother at that old residential compound earlier? He’s so mysterious, feels like he’s plotting something grand.”
“What mischief could Big Brother be up to? Haha, the program officers from the three neighborhoods are back.”
In the livestream, the chatter amongst the viewers erupted with renewed vigor. They reveled in seeing Big Brother outsmart the program officers.

“Captain, there’s no sign of Wang Yun.”
In the common center room, a contingent of program officers returned from their three-area search, presenting their updates.
“Mhm, I noticed,” Captain Hong Feng acknowledged, taking in the report with a slight nod. “Return to base, everyone. Oh, and detail the items Wang Yun acquired at the Guanwen Market.”
“Alright, Captain, the list includes plaster statues, modeling clay, alginic acid, playdough, table salt, soy sauce, flour, and two clamps,” the officer promptly relayed.
Captain Hong Feng swiftly noted down the items, furrowing his brow as he considered the peculiar assortment.
“What could he possibly be up to with these?” he wondered aloud, lost in thought for several minutes without any clarity.
“Captain Hong Feng, Wang Yun must be hiding somewhere else. Let’s wrap it up for today. With a city-wide warrant out, he won’t stay hidden for long,” Zhang Xingchen interjected.
“Mm,” Captain Hong Feng responded with a nod, realizing that with their current lack of actionable leads, pushing the search wouldn’t be productive. The officers, too, were due for some rest.
“Captain Hong Feng’s reputation precedes him, but who could’ve anticipated Wang Yun resorting to a disguise?”
“It’s a nail-biting face-off. Tracking down Wang Yun, especially post-disguise, will prove to be a challenge. And look at him, back at the bathhouse, completely nonchalant.”
“Don’t count Hong Feng out just yet. Now that he’s privy to Wang Yun’s purchases, it’s only a matter of time before he connects the dots.”
The live stream was abuzz with excitement as viewers eagerly followed this suspenseful chase between Hong Feng and Wang Yun, indulging in rampant speculation about their next moves.
As the night transitioned into dawn, the hunt entered its fifth day.
Early in the morning, a little past 7 a.m., Wang Yun rose and exited the Emperor Bathhouse. Bathed in the golden hues of the sunrise, a smirk adorned his face.
“Such splendid weather. Just right for a kill.’”
