The Matter of Freya XV
"It seems I caused you trouble Ottar." Freya said with her usual smile.
"Not at all. It is both my duty and my privilege." The boaz simply responded, making his dedication to his goddess as clear as it could be.
In fact, in the entire Freya Familia, only he and Horn had nothing other than the interests of their goddess in their mind. The others had more selfish reasons in their hearts which was perfectly normal and not to be condemned.
Still, Ottar's loyalty and devotion were things Nox found quite admirable, even if he knew he would never be able to act in the same way.
"Well, then. My role is pretty much done I think, so I shall leave." Nox spoke up.
"Don't you want to tarry a while? Allow me to show you some proper hospitality?" Freya suggested.
"Unfortunately I have things to do, matters and people to attend to so I'm going to have to postpone experiencing your hospitality to another day." Nox replied and then pulled out a crystal from his Item Box and handed it over to Freya.
"The crystal works based on intent and it has the single function of contacting me. I'll respond if I can spare the attention but try to only use it in the event of some urgency is required. Otherwise, just have someone look for me in the Loki Familia." He explained.
Freya's eyes shone at the wonderful item that would allow her to speak to Nox and pester him whenever she pleased, his warnings having long been dismissed since just hearing his voice, the sheer desire she sometimes experienced was a matter of great urgency.
"Thank you Nox." She smiled in response.
"You're quite welcome." Nox smiled back.
"Now then, King, Freya." he said while tipping his head in a goodbye before using his Translocation magic to leave in as much style as he had when he first arrived in Folkvangr.
His job in the Freya Familia complete, Nox called for Lili to meet him in a smaller safehouse where they could get some privacy.
The cutely devious and sometimes seductive pallum was beside herself with excitement, lust and joy at the call and rushed to the location ahead of time, she had been getting quite desperate for "a certain kind of love" recently after all.
On arrival however, she suddenly shouted with exasperation while looking at herself.
"Ugh! I look terrible and might smell even worse!" Lili was in the dungeon when Nox had called her so she was quite dirty with things like residue produced in the various floors, monster blood and the like. Having rushed to the safehouse at her top speed, she now looked even worse than before.
Still, a sigh of relief came right after when Lili realized that she had plenty of time to get ready so she left the dungeon to prepare herself for her special first night with the man that stole her heart so quickly and easily to the point he was all she thought about.
Nox also prepared himself, enough to respect the importance of th moment but he was definitely more relaxed than Lili as he went about his business.
Meanwhile in Folkvangr, right after Nox left, Freya called for a meeting to regain her bearings in regards to familia matters as all her executives gathered at top speed since it was none other than their beloved goddess that was calling for their presence.
Well, they were all in Folkvangr since they felt they needed to stick around until Nox left, lest something happened so they really took no time at all together but Freya still needed to consult with the two most trusted members of her familia first.
"Now then, Ottar, Horn. Tell of what happened in time I spent trapped in my own mind. Before you do so however, I must give praise to you Horn for your decision to invite Nox here."
"The cost in wealth to our familia though I have yet to know of it, was undoubtedly high but even then, I believe your choice was the best possible one and am very satisfied with it." The goddess of beauty gave Horn her well deserved laurels.
"Thank you for your praise, Freya-sama." Horn bowed in response. A bit of her unwillingness to work with Nox and the irritation born from it fading away since doing so got her plenty of praise.
Following this, Ottar and Horn unhesitantly gave all of the details in regards to the proceeding from the moment their beloved goddess had gone a bit crazier than usual, all up until Nox's visit to her quarters.
Freya paid particular attention to every detail they mentioned about Nox as she would never miss a chance to know more about him but she also made sure to note down some of the problematic attitudes within her own familia.
The jealousy from her executives was expected and it stimulated competition and growth however, if it became a serious enough problem to make her executives make obviously stupid decisions, decisions that might cripple their operations and even more critical, harm her relationship with Nox, then the problem had to be addressed.
As for the operational details such as the specific deal made with Nox, Freya was quite okay with it despite the losses their familia would incur.
After all, in her mind, she and Nox were meant to be, the time he made her take being nothing but a preparatory period for her to steel herself and gather the resolve necessary for such a big change in her life.
That being the case, soon, everything that was hers would also be his so what did it matter if some of the wealth began being transferred ahead of time?
