Discussion at Folkvangr III
"Do you wish to ask something?" Freya inquired once the two of them were alone. Clearly, the goddess of beauty had caught on to her attendant's doubts and suspicions.
Taking a deep breath, Horn bit the proverbial bullet and decided to confess her roused suspicions regarding the whole matter only to get a seductive mature giggle from her beloved mistress.
"Well, you are at least partially correct . . ." Freya said with a smile.
"Tell me Horn. Do you honestly believe Nox would not set any "insurance" up, especially considering the history between him and us?" The goddess of beauty questioned her attendant.
"So he has something ready, something that would probably make up for any loss at the cost of those who do not follow the contract . . . But what?" Horn inquired back.
"I do not know. Nox keeps his cards very close to his chest. I doubt even Loki understands the full extent of what he can actually do and what he does on a regular basis. But I am certain there is something, otherwise this would all be too out of character." Freya replied.
"Is it wise to let our members fall into such a trap?" Horn then inquired. She was afforded a bit more leeway than others when it came to questioning Freya, mostly because they were spiritually close due to their unique circumstances.
"Wise? Maybe not but . . . Disobedient children must be punished and to be honest . . . I am rather curious as to what exactly Nox has prepared for any who break the deal." Freya casually replied.
"Now . . . Do you have something more important to ask?" The goddess of beauty then questioned.
"?" Horn tilted her head slightly with some confusion.
"You love him as much as I do so do you not wish to hear of what went on in this room while Nox and I were alone~? I'm sure you've realized it is good but don't you want to know the details~?" Freya teased her attendant.
Horn gulped.
"Will Freya-sama tell me?" She inquired with barely contained curiosity. Horn thought she'd never know so she did not even bother but now that the information was being dangled in front of her, it was completely different.
As for why Freya was goading her poor attendant? The answer was simple really.
The goddess of beauty was already sure she was going to try and be exclusive to Nox. It was a sacrifice she was willing to make for the one who stirred her heart like it had never been stirred before. However, she knew he had lovers and that they would not welcome her so warmly.
Then cooking up a nice offering in Horn who was also in love with Nox, would allow her to have one ally within the harem.
As for issues regarding her sometimes uncontrollable lust . . .
'Well, so long as I keep it within the harem and I find some willing ones . . . I can appreciate both men and women after all.' Freya thought to herself.
Worst case scenario, was only being able to do it with her future "sisters" if Nox joined them but even that worst case seemed all to pleasurable. That being the case, she felt quite confident in her ability to handle the big changes that would be coming to her life.
The real problem on the other hand, were her children.
They who loved her so deeply would never accept such a turn of events. Freya was confident Ottar would be perfectly okay with it so long as she was happy, his love for her was more selfless and devoted after all.
The others however, had differing degrees of selfishness that would prevent them from accepting the new circumstances. That was also one of the reasons Freya planned to let Nox's little trap take effect, maybe it would solve some of those issues outright.
After going through her thoughts however, the goddess of beauty noticed Horn in front of her was smoking from thirst for copious details about her interaction with Nox. And so Freya started to lure the unsuspecting lamb into the abyss that she called Nox, an abyss Horn would never escape from.
Moving the focus back to the Freya Familia executives each went their own way, other than the Gulliver Brothers who always stuck together, they each made their choices.
Hedin and Hogni had made their choice clear in the meeting and followed through, diligently dungeon crawling until their quota was complete.
They had to to make serious dives with a set time per month and then give up the agreed upon percentage of their collected materials which they were required, also by contract, to meticulously collect.
Ottar stuck by Freya as a guard for now and simply decided to make one of his long forays later so that his quota would be fulfilled all the same.
Allen, much like he had claimed, utterly ignored the existence of the contract, going about his daily routine as per usual as if nothing was different from the norm.
Finally, there were the Gulliver Brothers, the four pallum siblings were still wondering what to do but after convincing themselves that their most beloved goddess would not hold it against them, their hearts' desire won out and they decided to take the same approach as their vice captain.
As for whether they could handle the consequences, by the time a month passed and the moment to pay their dues came, such a thing would naturally become clear.
Speaking of Pallums, there was one having the time of their life at that very moment.
It all began a while before hand though . . . when Nox met Liliruca Arde after leaving Folkvangr, just as he intended . . .
