Aftermath of the Show X
"Alright girls. I'm now going to star explaining my plans for the foreseeable future but, if you have any questions for me before I get to it, I welcome them. This gathering's purpose was not just to strengthen you, but also to give clarity so . . . Ask away."
And so, the discussions began.
"You've said you'll turn your attention to the depths of the Dungeon rather than the surface. Do you have an inkling of what is down there?" Riveria asked curiously.
"Not in the slightest, which is precisely why I want to go down there." Nox replied.
"Fair enough." Riveria accepted the answer.
"Are we going to immediately pour all our focus into Dungeon exploration or . . ." Aisha followed up.
"No, we have the power but our hold is not solid, especially since we are liable to draw suspicion from the gods due to my powers so first, we'll be securing our position on the surface before focusing on going down." Nox explained.
"Any concrete ideas?" Riveria asked. It seemed as if the others were not really the type to deeply consider overall strategy, it made Nox all the more glad to have Riveria by his side.
Hopefully the others would get some clarification from their discussion and perhaps even interject from time to time.
"Yeah. I'm planning on sweeping up the last remnants of Evilus and taking their haunt for our own use." Nox replied.
"Evilus is still around in such force?" Riveria asked with surprise.
"Yes, Dionysus-sama is working with them as was I, they use the Man Made Dungeon Knossos, initially constructed by Daedalus himself to move around unnoticed." Filvis interjected, with shocking information, well, shocking to most of them as Nox already knew all of that.
"That's right. Daedalus cursed his own bloodline so all his descendents are forced to continue working on Knossos until their ancestor's vision is completed." Nox added.
He then went about explaining the various features of the Man Made Dungeon that made it perfect for their uses.
Knossos was built with a variety of the highest quality materials to maximize its defensive capabilities as much as possible. Its composition has turned the place into a virtually impenetrable fortress either through physical or magical attacks, making it impossible to break into it.
Its dimensions were truly colossal, each floor being the size of the entirety of Orario and, as a labyrinth, it was composed of multiple intricate paths. As soon as one enters the site the trail quickly divides into multiple dizzying directions.
Having several forks and four-way crossings makes the number of possible roads to take countless, with a wide variety of them only leading to dead ends.
Although its structure is typical of a labyrinth, its complexity is extremely high, easily surpassing that of the Daedalus Street, a place famous for being impossible to escape once one becomes lost in it.
Despite this, is is well illuminated by magical stone lamps and while sings of age are obvious in the older sections, no true structural damage was possible to observe.
Furthermore, there were gates made of Orichalcum, the strongest material in the world, located throughout the complex, stopping any possible progress.
These doors typically could only be opened by either the eyes of the descendants of Daedalus, or a key called a Daedalus Orb made from said eyes, as they emit a specific magic frequency that allows the activation of all the mechanisms within Knossos. There were ways around this however.
One could try going through the walls instead but they were much thicker and made purely with highest quality adamantite, making it very hard to break through them, requiring at least a Level 6 adventurer specializing in strength to to do so and at great cost.
Additionally, said walls were completely covered by a special black stone made from Obsidian Soldier's Body Stone. As a protection, it was quite weak to physical attacks but had powerful anti magic properties, making mages also incapable of breaking through them.
Despite being under constant construction for a thousand years, the man made dungeon was still not even close to being finished, only reaching the Middle Floors, barely 30% of the depths in the plans originally made by Daedalus.
Furthermore, even if already made floors, there were still various incomplete areas with holes to cover and others were expansion was still required.
"To think there was such a place . . ." Riveria was quite surprised.
"So are we going to conquer it then?" The newbie Tiona seemed to be ready to rumble already.
"Relax." Nox patted her.
"I have already acquired one of the Daedalus Orbs required to actuate the various mechanisms and with my crafting skills, I could even make some copies but there's no need for a costly invasion since there are various security measures in place that would make things rather difficult." He explained.
"Instead, we are going to sneak in, I can trick their observation devices with my magic,. We will make our way to their main base of operations inside, and capture all of them in one fell swoop." Nox revealed his plan.
"Capture? Not kill?" Aisha questioned and while some did not appreciate her words, Nox would have agreed with her in normal circumstances.
"Enslaving Spells Aisha. One can always use disposable goons for dirty jobs." Nox said. willingly revealing a bit of the not so pretty side of things to his girls.
The reactions however . . . were mixed.
