Aftermath of the Show VI
"I assume you all know about my little encounter with Allen Fromel of the Freya Familia yes?" Nox inquired, to which he received only positive responses and serious faces.
Some were outraged, some bloodthirsty, some worried, some cold, but all on his side and ready to to go onto the warpath should he command it. Their expectations however, were about to be subverted.
"From that rather short yet very enlightening battle . . . I have come to realize a very important thing." Nox said.
"There is literally nadventurer in the world who could beat me." He added, much to everyone's shock.
"I realized I have been rather overestimating my supposed rival adventurers but from that battle, I have discovered that even the King would not pose any considerable challenge to me." Nox continued.
"I have a lot of plans to deal with opposing factions in Orario like the strongest Freya Familia and Evilus who are still active despite common perception but I now understand that those are unnecessary."
"I can simply trample them whenever I please and I shall be doing so to Evilus in the near future. As for the Freya Familia, as they are a very official entity, some more nuance will be required."
"But what I wanted to emphasize was that as adventurers are no longer fit to be my opponents, I shall turn my attention to other matters." Nox progressed with his point.
None of them thought he was being arrogant and overconfident in his abilities. In fact, Nox had a habit of overkilling due to overestimating his enemies and it would take serious miscalculation for him to underestimate an enemy.
As such, when he said his piece, as hard as it was to believe he had already reached that peak of power, from his showing in the arena and what they knew of his personality, the girls were quite sure he was speaking factual truth.
"Namely, the conquering of the Dungeon's deepest depths and the defeat of the One Eyed Black Dragon." He revealed his current main goals.
He had a few other objectives but elected to keep those to himself for the safety of his girls and because they would probably not take some of them all too well.
At the mention of the dragon however, Ais immediately clenched her fist with a burning drive and thirst for vengeance shining in her beautiful golden eyes.
She was immensely pleased that Nox had taken her hated enemy to be a concrete objective yet also frightened by the prospect of losing him to the terrible foe that robbed her of everything.
Such a deep seated fear was going to need time to be uprooted a proof that Nox would not perish in his pursuits and one of his hidden objectives, was his conquering of death that was still on the back of his mind, bidding him to go back to his lab and keep working on it.
"However . . ." Nox started once again after letting the girls digest the information he presented to them.
"I did not call you here simply to inform you all of my "enlightenment" so to speak." He said.
"Despite my great power, having no allies to support you and leave your back to, can be quite eroding to one's will and eve dangerous depending on the enemy one faces."
"And since I haven't the slightest clue of what I shall face in the depths of the Dungeon, I need reliable companions to watch my back. In other words, I need you all to get stronger, enough to support me without dragging me down." Nox gravely said.
It was a harsh truth that somewhat hurt some of the girls but none of them resented him for it. It only made them more fired up. Their beloved was asking for their help, and they would give their everything so as to live up and even surpass his expectations.
"The I have a suggestion." Riveria interjected.
"Wonderful. Let's hear it then." Nox replied, bidding the high elfess to share her suggestion.
"I think we can easily increase our fighting strength if you use your ability to redistribute excelia. Lower our stats that don't affect our fighting style and put them towards progress. It will also makes us progress much quicker if we don't have to aim for a perfect All S." Riveria suggested.
She was a bit worried since she knew Nox, as a perfectionist, loved to max everyone out before a level up. But it simply was quite a waste.
While Nox himself could take advantage of his high stats across the board due to being Jack of All Trades with an extremely diverse skill set, they were far more specialized and lowering certain stats would almost not affect their combat performance in the slightest.
Riveria's worries however, were unfounded. She had basically said what Nox had come to realize after all and that had been exactly what he planned to do after calling them all over.
"That's a great suggestion Veria. To tell the truth, while I was thinking on how to strengthen you all, I came to realize my obsession with maxing out all of your stats was actually hampering your progress." Nox said.
"Still, I won't lower them too much since they are still useful. I want you all to ponder on your styles and make a priority list of which stats you use the most and which ones you are least affected by. I will be changing your status based on those lists so make sure they are accurate and don't rush."
As he said all of this and got confirmations from all of his girls, he noticed an extremely lost Tiona who despite having been inducted, still had no idea of what broken abilities to cheat the system Nox actually had.
Ever the helpful organizer, Riveria just raised her hand towards Nox signalling him that she would take care of it and so, everyone absconded to their private rooms to ponder on their personal lists.
