Chapter 131: Chapter 120: Acquiring Another Manufacturer Company
Saturday, December 21, 1991
Zaboru was on his way to the address provided by Tetsuo to meet with another electronics manufacturing company. This company, called Mirai Manufacturer, was owned by one of Tetsuo's friends. After hearing that Tetsuo Saiko machine was become ZAGE official, the owner, Ryoga Sugoima, had become interested in selling his manufacturing company. Ryoga had long dreamed of shifting his business to farming in the countryside, but he couldn't just abandon Mirai Manufacturer. Many workers depended on their salaries, and the company itself was slightly more advanced than Saiko Machine. Ryoga wanted to ensure the manufacturer could continue operating smoothly. While he was technically still the owner, he had taken a step back from managing day-to-day operations, leaving that responsibility to his son, Ryoma Sugoima, who acted as the company's CEO.
Ryoma, unlike his father, was extremely ambitious. It was actually his idea to partner with ZEPS, recognizing the potential benefits for both companies. Now, with the meeting set for the weekend—when fewer employees would be around—Zaboru and Tetsuo arrived to negotiate with the father and son.
As soon as they entered the meeting room, Ryoga greeted them with a wide grin. "Hah! Tetsu-chan, you've gotten so old!"
Tetsuo smirked and crossed his arms. "You're one to talk, old fart."
Both men chuckled heartily, exchanging friendly banter before Ryoga turned his attention to Zaboru. "Oh! You must be the young CEO, Zaboru Renkonan. A pleasure to meet you! My name is Ryoga Sugoima."
Zaboru extended his hand with a polite smile. "Nice to meet you too, Sugoima-san."
At that moment, Ryoma stepped forward and bowed respectfully. "Uncle Tetsu, and Zaboru Renkonan-san, it's an honor. I'm a huge fan of your work. ZEPS is amazing. My name is Ryoma Sugoima, but please, just call me Ryoma to avoid confusion with my father."
Zaboru shook his hand firmly. "Nice to meet you, Ryoma."
Ryoga chimed in, chuckling. "And you can call me Ryoga, Zaboru. That alright with you?"
Zaboru nodded. "Of course, Ryoga-san."
Zaboru had also called Kudou, his legal advisor, to join them at Mirai Manufacturer, but Kudou was tied up with other matters and would arrive later to handle the legalities.
With pleasantries out of the way, they got down to business. The plan was for Zaboru to purchase 50% of the manufacturing company. Currently, ownership was split evenly between Ryoga and Ryoma, but Ryoga was looking to sell his shares. This move would provide Mirai Manufacturer with fresh capital, allowing it to improve and expand while focusing on producing ZAGE products. Meanwhile, Ryoma would retain his position as CEO and continue managing the company's operations.
Zaboru was excited about the idea and had the capital needed to acquire 50% of Mirai Manufacturer. However, he was curious about Ryoma's strong desire to form a partnership with him.
"What made you so certain that you wanted to work with me?" Zaboru asked.
Ryoma didn't hesitate with his response. "Because of the future, Zaboru-san. I believe in the potential of ZEPS. As soon as I discovered that a teenager was behind it, I knew ZAGE was destined for success."
Zaboru raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "I appreciate your confidence in me, but don't you think my age also means I'm prone to making mistakes? There's always a possibility that I might fail."
Ryoma smiled. "Of course, there's always a possibility of failure. But I choose to believe in my vision, and I can tell you're bluffing. You're definitely confident that ZAGE will be incredibly successful in the future."
Zaboru smirked, impressed by Ryoma's insight. "Very well, Ryoma. I agree. Let's wait for my lawyer to arrive so we can finalize the contracts. Once everything is in order, we'll officially be partners."
Ryoma's eyes lit up. "Thank you, Zaboru-san. I won't let you down."
After a short while, Kudou finally arrived and meticulously reviewed the contract. The agreement was clear: Zaboru would purchase 50% of Mirai Manufacturer's shares, while Ryoma would continue as CEO. Additionally, Mirai Manufacturer would become an exclusive manufacturing partner for ZAGE, similar to Saiko Machine.
With everything settled, Zaboru officially acquired a new manufacturing company. Ryoga, now free to pursue his dream, was ready to embrace life as a farmer in the countryside. Meanwhile, Ryoma secured the fresh capital needed to improve and expand Mirai Manufacturer, bringing the company into a new era of production and innovation.
As the deal was sealed, Ryoga clapped a hand on Zaboru's shoulder. "Kid, you've got a good head on your shoulders. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with this partnership."
Zaboru grinned. "I won't let this opportunity go to waste."
Zaboru also thanks Tetsuo, to introduce him to Mirai Manufacture.
With that, another major milestone was achieved in the growth of ZAGE.
To be continued.
