THIRD PERSON'S POV

The group watched as the two women, one blonde and one with white hair, stood facing each other, completely lost in their reunion. The onlookers, mostly forgotten in the moment, held their breath—a habit from when breathing was still a thing they needed to do. They tried to stay quiet, unwilling to disturb the scene.

Well, most of them tried. Because, let's face it, in any gathering, there's always at least one person who can't read the room—or worse, intentionally messes with it. In this case, there were two.

Edward, Robin's brother, was the first to break ranks. He'd skimmed the surface of some thoughts in the room—some heartwarming, some alarmingly chaotic—and decided it was his duty to intervene. Stepping forward, he opened his mouth to call out to his sister.

That's when Alice hissed at him, her tone sharp but her volume low, "Stop Edweirdo! He'll make it worse!"

Edward froze, caught off-guard by the insult. Before he could recover, a foot connected firmly with his backside, sending him face-first into the snow. He lay there, stunned, tasting ice and humiliation.

"Sorry, Eddie," Isaac whispered from behind him, crouching down to make sure the message landed. "I can't let you interrupt my bestie's big reunion. Stay down. I'm prepared to remove your limbs, hold onto them, and return them later. I don't know who this new lady is, but if she's important to Robin, I'm not taking chances."

Isaac, Robin's self-proclaimed ultimate bestie, smiled sweetly as he delivered his threat. It didn't make it less terrifying.

Meanwhile, another troublemaker, Kate, was losing patience. The two women standing motionless, staring at each other like they were buffering, was driving her up the wall. She'd missed her cousin Robin dearly and resented the lies she'd been forced to tell her about Rosalie. Kate didn't hate Rosalie anymore, not exactly, but she still had a grudge over how much pain her cousin had endured. Impulsively, she started to move.

"Stop, Kate!" Alice hissed again.

This time, it was Kate's sisters who acted. Irina grabbed her right arm, Tanya her left.

"I swear to ROB, Kate, you never think things through!" Irina growled under her breath.

"Did you forget the Seer's warning?" Tanya added, her grip firm.

"But—" Kate began, only for Esme to clamp a hand over her mouth.

"Kate, sweetie," Esme whispered, her tone warm but eyes cold, "I adore your energy, but I will not let you ruin this for my daughter."

Carmen stepped up behind Kate, her voice like a knife at Kate's ear. "Behave. Or would you like us to remove your limbs too? I haven't quite forgiven you for hurting Coraline."

If Kate had still been human, she might have wet herself right there. Instead, she simply froze, grateful her undead body spared her that indignity.

The rest of the group watched the chaos unfold with varying degrees of amusement. Alice seemed to know exactly what was going to happen and was enjoying the show. Jasper was dazed, overwhelmed by the storm of emotions Robin and Rosalie were radiating. Coraline and Jane looked mildly entertained, though Jane's expression soured whenever her eyes landed on Kate. Meanwhile, Eleazar, Emmett, and Carlisle wore the awkward smiles of men married to terrifyingly protective women.

The silence stretched until Alice whispered, "Who's ROB?"

Robin, who hadn't so much as glanced away from Rosalie, answered in her usual monotone. "Random Omnipotent Being. It's an expression, like 'God' or 'Jesus.' They got it from me."

Everyone stared at her in shock. She hadn't broken eye contact with Rosalie, yet somehow she'd heard the question.

Rosalie finally spoke. "Follow me." Without waiting for a response, she darted into the forest at inhuman speed.

Robin smiled back at the group—a chilling smile reminiscent of Esme's. "We'll talk later."

Then, she vanished after Rosalie, leaving the group in tense silence. Edward, now sitting up and brushing snow off his face, asked, "Should we follow them? With their thoughts, there's bound to be a fight…"

Every head turned toward him, their expressions a mix of disbelief and pity. Even Kate, still pinned, looked at him like he'd said something unbelievably dumb.

"What?" Edward asked, genuinely confused.

Alice sighed, her confident smile slipping into something more awkward. "Let's just say they've missed each other… a lot. Sure, there'll be some scuffles and roughhousing, but not the kind you're imagining. If you go after them now, I guarantee you'll want to gouge your eyes out and beg Robin to erase your memory. Assuming you can even look her in the face afterward."

Edward blinked, then paled as he processed her words. The group fell silent again, save for Isaac, who snickered quietly and muttered, "Best reunion ever."

The snowy clearing stretched wide and pure, untouched by any footprints until now. The sun, weak as it was in winter, cast a soft light over the scene, setting Rosalie's golden hair aglow and making her pale skin shimmer like faceted gemstones. Across from her, Robin stood silent, her white hair catching the sunlight in an ethereal halo, her sapphire-and-pink eyes glittering with a mixture of hesitation and longing. The clearing was her sanctuary, a place where she had poured out her emotions as a child, where she could release the power that simmered just beneath the surface.

Robin didn't speak right away, her gaze flicking between Rosalie and the trees that framed the clearing like silent sentinels. Rosalie didn't rush her; she stood with an unnatural stillness, watching her mate with a soft, unwavering intensity.

"This is where you come when you need to feel free," Rosalie said finally, her voice quiet but resolute. "Your family told me about it. How this was where you'd sing." She stepped closer, her golden eyes locked on Robin's, her voice growing softer. "I've waited for so long to hear you. To feel you. No walls, no masks. Just us."

Robin's breath hitched, a ghost of a sound that betrayed the storm of emotion she kept tightly locked away.

"Sing for me," Rosalie whispered. "Let me feel it. No lies."

Robin hesitated, her fingers curling and uncurling at her sides. Her gift wasn't just a power—it was her truth, raw and unfiltered. And to use it now, in front of Rosalie, was to bare herself completely. The bond between them pulsed, tangible and alive, urging her forward. Slowly, she nodded.

She closed her eyes and drew a deep breath, letting the crisp air fill her lungs. The first note was tentative, her voice trembling with vulnerability, but it carried across the clearing like a ripple on still water. Then, as the words flowed, so did the depth of her emotions.

-A thousand years by Christina Perri-

🎶Heart beats fast

Colors and promises

How to be brave?

How can I love when I'm afraid to fall?🎶

The effect was immediate. Rosalie's stillness faltered; she swayed slightly as the weight of Robin's feelings wrapped around her. The song was a confession, a tapestry woven with longing, pain, and the unyielding pull of love. Robin's voice, haunting and otherworldly, poured every ounce of her soul into the melody.

🎶But watching you stand alone

All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow

One step closer...🎶

Robin opened her eyes, meeting Rosalie's golden gaze. Her voice grew stronger, the notes ringing out with a blend of strength and vulnerability. The clearing seemed to shimmer, the snow refracting light in a kaleidoscope of colors as her emotions bled into the world around her. Rosalie's chest ached, not from pain, but from the overwhelming clarity of Robin's love.

🎶I have died every day waiting for you

Darling, don't be afraid

I have loved you for a thousand years

I'll love you for a thousand more.🎶

Rosalie moved closer, her steps soundless on the snow. Tears that wouldn't fall gathered in her golden eyes as the depth of Robin's devotion hit her like a tidal wave. She didn't just hear the song—she felt it. Every note, every word, carried years of yearning, of waiting, of enduring pain for the chance to stand here now.

🎶And all along I believed I would find you

Time has brought your heart to me

I have loved you for a thousand years

I'll love you for a thousand more.🎶

Robin's voice cracked slightly as the song reached its crescendo. She clutched her chest as if to steady herself, the rawness of the moment nearly too much. But Rosalie was there, suddenly right in front of her, her hands cupping Robin's face gently, reverently.

"Robin," Rosalie breathed, her voice trembling. "You… You're everything. Everything I've ever needed."

Robin let out a shaky laugh, tears slipping silently down her cheeks. "I thought I'd lost you forever. I thought I was doing what's best for you... I thought… you wouldn't want me anymore. After what I've done to your memories..."

It might be because they were too emotional, but they didn't notice that Rosalie wasn't affected by Robin's voice even after hearing her voice with unregulated feelings.

Rosalie shook her head, her grip on Robin firm. "Never. I'd walk through fire for you. I'd wait another thousand years if that's what it took. But I'm here now. We're here." Her voice cracked on the last word, and she pulled Robin into a tight embrace, their foreheads pressing together.

For a moment, there was silence except for the sound of their breathing. Then Robin whispered, her voice barely audible, "I love you."

Rosalie smiled through her tears, her voice warm and sure. "And I love you, my mate..." She brushed a gentle kiss to Robin's lips, sealing the moment, their bond burning brighter than the sunlight around them.

The snowy clearing, their sanctuary, bore witness to their reunion, an eternal testament to their love.

This lasted a few more minutes before Rosalie moved away from her, and looked at her mates beautiful eyes with a smile that sent shivers to Robin's spine.

The tension in the clearing was thick enough to cut with a knife. Rosalie stepped back just enough to look Robin directly in the eyes, her golden gaze practically glowing with an unsettling mix of amusement and danger.

"So…" Rosalie began, her voice deceptively soft, "Kate was your first kiss and crush. Coraline was your blood singer and the first person you flirted with. And you have soul-bonded children."

She listed each fact like a prosecutor laying out evidence. Robin, for her part, felt her knees weaken, her hybrid resilience no match for her mate's terrifyingly calm tone.

Before she could crumple under the weight of guilt, Rosalie's hands steadied her, gripping her waist with a firm, almost possessive hold. Robin barely had time to process this small mercy before Rosalie's expression hardened, her voice dropping to a deadly serious register.

"And who," she said, her words as sharp as icicles, "are Olivia and NJ?"

Robin's heart stopped. Or, at least, it felt like it. She knew this question was coming, dreaded it more than anything. Her mind scrambled for an answer, but nothing seemed good enough—no lie clever enough, no truth soft enough to survive Rosalie's wrath.

Her brain whispered a single, desperate solution: Say nothing. Stay cute.

Robin gulped, blinking her wide sapphire-and-pink eyes at Rosalie. She tilted her head just slightly, letting her white hair catch the sunlight like a halo. If she could dazzle Rosalie enough, maybe—just maybe—she'd let it go.

Silence stretched between them, broken only by the faint rustle of trees. Robin held her breath, refusing to speak, hoping her mate would find her too adorable to press further.

Rosalie arched a brow, her lips twitching as if suppressing a smile. Her golden eyes searched Robin's face, no doubt picking up on her desperate plea to be forgiven purely on the grounds of being cute and charming.

"You're really going to play the silent card?" Rosalie asked, her tone laced with amusement.

Robin said nothing, though her eyes might as well have screamed, Yes. Please stop asking. Look at my face. I'm adorable.

Rosalie sighed, shaking her head with a fondness that made Robin's knees wobble again—but this time, for entirely different reasons.

"You are impossible," Rosalie muttered, stepping back and crossing her arms. "Lucky for you, you're cute. Very cute. Annoyingly so."

Robin resisted the urge to sag with relief, her lips curling into a sheepish smile.

"So… we're good?" she ventured, her voice soft and hopeful.

Rosalie's sharp laugh cut through the clearing. "Oh, no. We're not good." She leaned in, her golden eyes narrowing. "I'll let it go for now. But this conversation isn't over. You're explaining Olivia and NJ eventually. And you better hope it's good."

Robin swallowed hard, nodding quickly. "Eventually. Got it. Totally fair."

Rosalie's lips quirked into a sly smile, and she reached up to lightly cup Robin's cheek. "You're lucky I love you," she said softly.

Robin leaned into the touch, her shoulders relaxing for the first time in what felt like forever. "Yeah," she admitted with a grin. "I'm lucky. And you're terrifying."

Rosalie smirked. "Good. Keep it that way."

As Rosalie pulled back and began walking toward the edge of the clearing, Robin stayed rooted to the spot, one thought echoing through her mind: Survived another day. Barely.
