Chapter 22: Chapter 20
AN: they fixed the app!!! They fixed it!!! Waaaaaaaah... *breath in*breath out*
Now our little fanfic doesn't look too pitiful anymore 🥺
I'm sorry for ever wishing their pinky toes to hit corners at least twice in the last 13 days.

CARLISLE'S POV
Our little Liesha decided that she now wanted to go out and make friends... And we're proud and happy for her for finally trying to live her life outside of just us, or just our kind... But at the same time as a father, I feel conflicted, because I know how vicious and revolting humans can be. She's so different from not just our kind, but also a lot more different than humans, she stands out too much.
They hadn't met her directly, but just from my workplace, people have been gossiping about her already, at how beautiful she is but it's a shame that she was disabled... Some of them even said something about her being a perfect wife, she was beautiful and wouldn't be able to nag or complain unlike the other woman, and continued describing and listing things that they would want to do to her.
I'm a pacifist, I do not condone violence, or simply just killing anyone... But since I met my daughter, I've been struggling to hold myself back. Haaaaah... These people don't deserve to be in her presence, I'm afraid they'll taint the ground she'll walk on, and pollute the very air she breathes.
[AN: the whole family is our yanderes in denial🤔]
But what can we do? We can't keep her from doing what she wants, we won't hold her back from living her life and and trying to find happiness. She deserves to experience all the joys of living, and we can only try and shield her from a distance.
We did make a deal that we'll only take her to gatherings that will have the attendance of others close to her age, specific gatherings for her age group, and possibly personal invitations from friends that she'll make.
Why just that? Because her original goal is to make friends, attending gatherings without people from her age group will be useless and potentially dangerous, not for her, oh not for her, we'll never let any bad thing happen to her again, never... But it'll be potentially dangerous for the people who will see her, depending on how they react or think to her presence, I can barely hold myself, and I'm not sure if I can also hold back an overprotective mama bear and a siscon of a brother... That's a term my daughter used to describe how Edward is to her, and it does fit perfectly.
Our son has changed since she came, he had previously been for a lack of better word an EMO as my daughter would describe it. He didn't smile or laugh as genuinely or at all... I can count the times he did crack a smile before we had her with one hand, and those are all mostly for politeness. Now he's happy, he doesn't dwell in self-loathing anymore for being what we are and has forgone the belief that we're soulless monsters. We can thank Robin for that after the talk she had with him when she was about 12 years of age.

Flashback
THIRD PERSON POV
Edward was playing the piano and the tune was a sad classical piece, and he was doing it with a frown on his face, but he felt a punch in his left arm which made him stop, look at the perpetrator, and see his beloved little sister.
'what got you all EMO and broody Edweirdo?' she asked with a raised eyebrow at him.
"Emo? What's emo?" he asked confused.
'Overly sensitive, emotional, and full of angst' she stated clearly crossing her arms.
"I'm fine, I'm not EMO or being broody, I was just playing a piece that was sad, and got carried away." he deflected.
'Well, you were making a punchable face, so I don't believe you. So what is it? I'm not saying you're not allowed to mope or feel sad, but you look like you are hurting, and you are my brother, soooo I kinda have to at least try you know?' she explained giving him a deadpanned look.
The older sibling sighed and looked straight up at those sparkling pink eyes, he was so hally that they weren't the dull lifeless pink anymore. Then he shook his head, 'how can she be open to me about her worries if I am not being open about mine?' he thought and a resolute look crossed his face.
"I'm... I was just reminded of an old issue I have about our existence, about being a vampire... I never wanted to be a soulless monster, but here I am. I've killed before... I'm a killer... And heaven is no longer an option for me..." he shared while his eyes became glossy from tears that would never fall for their kind.
'you believe you're soulless and a monster... Why?' she asked with an incredulous tone.
He gave her a confused look... Not understanding the question, he clearly just explained it.
"Because I'm forever going to be a killer? A monster? Doomed to just disappear after my true death, denied to enter heaven because I no longer have a soul." he tried explaining again.
She gave him a confused look... And furrowed her eyebrows.
'You know I love you right?' she asked him with both eyebrows raised, her eyes asking if he knew.
"Yes, yes I know" he replied cracking up a smile.
'I know that you came from a very religious background, well the whole family did. And I respect your beliefs... But can I ask you a question?'
"What is it?" He asked curious as to where this conversation was going.
'Do you think I'm a soulless monster?'
"No! never!"
'I'm part vampire too you know, I've killed and I also drink blood'
"You're different, you're alive, your heart beats..." he said in a lower and softer tone.
Robin rolled her eyes at her brother for being so dense.
'What's our connection?'
"You're my sister, and I'm your brother?"
Her eyebrow twitched.
"adoptive siblings?"
She now had a deadpanned look.
"What? We are of the same race?" he asked, not having a clue as to what answer the girl was waiting for.
'One more chance, use your brilliant mind brother...' she said, giving him a pointed look.
He tried so hard to rack his brain up to think, that he even felt like he poped a vein from thinking too hard but then it hit him.
"Y-you are my soul sibling..." his eyes widen from the realization.
'Yes, emphasis on the word SOUL. Now, you can say that it's just a word that they used to name the connection, that it really means nothing... but do you really feel like that's true? If not by soul, how do you think we are all connected, you, Mom, Dad, and me... Something spoke to you, called out for me...' She said while her eyes were now starting to water.
Seeing this, he immediately went to hug his sister.
"I'm sorry... You're right, your brother is stupid this time." he said while patting her back gently.
She looked up to match his eyes still with those watery eyes of hers. They are pretty, but he'd prefer them without tears.
*What do you mean just this time? Aren't you stupid most of the time?* her face morphed into a mischievous grin, and then pushed him and then ran.
'You'll never catch me Edweirdo!' she thought while getting away from him, her laughter warmed his dead heart up. It melted.
A wide smile plastered on his face.
"Don't let me catch you, you little bird!" he said as he ran after her and let out a laugh.

Back to present
CARLISLE'S POV
We still don't know what they talked about, when we did ask them, Robin just said Ask stupid over there, and Edward would just laugh. So we didn't pry any further, the important thing is that they're happier now.

ROBIN'S POV
No appropriate gatherings that I could go to were held, so I just spent my time honing my gifts, it's not going as well as we did in Alaska because I can't practice on people around our area... I can suggest to find hoodlums and other types of bad guys to practice with, but I already know that my family won't approve, and I refuse to use my gifts on family... so I just practiced fighting.
I sparred with Edward, at first he refused me, multiple times, he didn't want to hurt me, even tho I explained that I would also need to train my durability... It's listed as a skill, so I'm sure it can be evolved, I don't wanna be a glass cannon... I managed to blackmail him into doing it... I told him I'd just go out and pick a fight somewhere without them knowing, so he gave in... At first, he held back a lot, but I kept going at it almost with my full force, which eventually ticked him off when I gave him a few wedgies, so tho not to the level I wanted, he is shaping up to be a decent sparring partner.
Mom's following the cannon lately, she's taken interest in home renovation, which is very good, I'm looking forward to her work in the future, the Forks home they had was nice.
Oh, update on our little Leonardo, he's still alive and well, still itty bitty at the moment, I can't wait for him to be ginormous. He seemed to accept his fate already of being my little dress up tortoise, I learned how to make the costumes myself, so he has a lot of them in his own not-so-little closet.
Tho I haven't been able to attend any parties, I have been able to be more proactive in mingling with humans in public spaces such as the market or the Hospital, I still avoided the men, but I have been directing smiles towards the ladies, especially the young ladies... What? Get your head out of the gutter, I'm still just 13 years old, I can't do that... yet, I'll at least wait till I'm 15. (hue hue hue hue internally smirking evilly)
[AN: Parents, hide your daughters! Oh, And the Milfs😱!!!]
I was currently reading through my father's medical books and was planning to finish the pile along with books about cars... Don't judge me, I'm doing this to get close to her in the future so I can save her, ok? That's it! Oi, what's up with that disbelieving look? Oi!
[AN: ok we believe you{not 🤞}, just stop. 🙄]
I sensed my mother getting closer, and if my senses were correct, she had cookies! I sped up to open my father's studies door for her. And there they were.
*cookies!* I exclaimed by signing and then jumping up and down before taking away the tray that also came along with orange warm milk.
"No hello to your mother first? Did I just lose to cookies?" my mother said with a stoic look and monotonous tone, but I could see in her eyes that she was just teasing me and was in fact amused.
I froze for a second and looked at her, then gave her the most adorable smile while I went to her, and gave her lots of kisses all over her face and then a tight hug.
*Of course you'll always be more important mother...* I said while still smiling, and Mom's face morphed into a warm motherly smile.
But then I continued...
*because... Who will make the cookies without you mom?* I continued, then gave her a grin.
"oh, you cheeky little thing! Come here!" she replied, still smiling lovingly but was molding my face like a stress ball.
After a minute or two, she finally set me free to start devouring my snack and watched me with amusement whilst I was doing so, mother seemed to have remembered something.
"I almost forgot to tell you, we were invited to a birthday celebration by the Hale's, do you remember the girl that came over before? It seems that her birthday will be this coming December 12th. And the whole neighborhood was invited, so there will be kids the same age as you." She said while wiping the cookie crumbs and milk mustache off my lips.
This is it, this is my make-it-or-break-it moment! I have to get close to her! Wait, I need to look my best! Wait not my best, I can't outshine the birthday girl, it was said that human Rosalie was a bit vain and self-absorbed before turning, so I have to be careful with this.
*Mom! I need a dress! I need the perfect dress!* she stood up excitedly and held her mom's hands and kept shaking them up and down.
Her mother was amused seeing how excited she was at the prospect of making friends of the same age. She broke free from her daughter's hands and held her shoulder to calmly lead her to sit back down again.
"And we shall find the perfect dress for you, if there's none, we'll make it ourselves. There's plenty of time my child, just enjoy your snack for now" she assured her.
I nodded excitedly while I continued eating and thinking about my game plan for the future.

AN: We're starting to get those kinds of reviews again. I'm not sure if I should remove it or just leave it, I don't think they've actually read the FF first before they made the review.
Anyway, I noticed that in the library, the cover photo did change, but when you search it under Twilight ff, the novel still has the old cover photo, I'm not sure if it's just me, so can anybody confirm this, please?
Also, I'm sick. I have a high fever... So I might not be able to write for tomorrow's chapter. My head is killing me. But I still need to work, so I'll be using the meager energy I have for that, I'll try to write something, but I'm scared that it'll turn out to be like a fever dream.😅
As always, thanks to those who gave positive reviews, left comments and gave power stones. I really appreciate it! 🥺😘
