Chapter 48: Chapter 48: Eris
Roa could guarantee that if Philip joked about this again, he couldn't guarantee that Philip wouldn't be attacked by a masked person one night while walking down the road and get a beating.
Philip wasn't deaf; he had heard the argument in the hallway. But to his surprise, Roa wasn't disliked by Sauros; he was even praised.
Looking at the somewhat cold, golden-haired 'boy' in front of him, Philip smiled.
Roa was undoubtedly very good-looking. His waist-length, smooth hair was tied into a braid, and his bangs were parted in the middle, revealing the boy's handsome eyebrows. With red lips and white teeth, he had a doll-like, delicate face. His features were perfectly distributed, and no one could find any flaws on Roa's face. Such a person would be dazzling even among girls, but unfortunately, he was a boy.
Philip didn't mind the boy's slightly hostile gaze. He pointed to the sofa opposite them and said to the two, "Sit down."
Rudeus asked nervously, "Has the interview started?"
Philip said generously, "Actually, there's no interview or anything. Let me ask you first, how much do you know about the situation?"
Philip glanced at the two. Rudeus turned to Roa for help. Roa sighed and said helplessly, "After teaching the young lady here for five years, we can get funding for enrollment in the Magic University."
"Only that?"
"Yes."
"Is that so…"
Philip put his hand on his chin, lowered his gaze to the table, as if thinking about something. After thinking for a long time, he suddenly said, "Roa, do you like girls?"
Roa's expression gradually turned ferocious. Was this guy questioning his sexuality?
He said indifferently, "I am a man, I like women, I like girls, especially beast-eared maids!"
"Oh? You like beast-eared maids too?" Philip, who had been thinking about the problem, suddenly became interested. He sat up abruptly.
The butler next to him coughed expressionlessly a few times. Philip smiled happily and said, "That's right, he's one of our family."
The butler coughed a few more times. Philip then said with some regret, "Well, just don't be as excessive as Paul."
"Okay, let's get down to business. Currently, the only teachers that child likes are Edna, who teaches etiquette, and Ghislaine, who teaches swordsmanship. More than five people have been fired so far, including one who used to teach in the Roal capital. So, Eris's personality is quite difficult to deal with."
Philip said helplessly. Indeed, as he said, his own daughter was very difficult to handle.
He was already at his wit's end. Roa said expressionlessly, "It's okay, I will teach Eris magic well."
Rudeus asked weakly, "Um, is she interested in arithmetic or anything like that?"
Philip looked at Rudeus with a strange gaze. He said bluntly, "I can say that she shows impatience with everything except swordsmanship."
Rudeus smiled awkwardly. He could only nod and say, "Is that so? That's a bit tricky."
Philip sighed and said, "It seems you don't understand the extent of the trouble. She's beyond just being described as tricky. Well, to put it bluntly, I didn't have much expectation for you at first. I'm just trying you out because you're Paul's sons."
Rudeus's expression was a bit unpleasant, but Philip changed his tone and said, "But I think you can make the old man so happy, so you should give people some surprises."
Roa leaned back on the sofa, looking at the ceiling.
"Well, an unfamiliar ceiling."
Seeing that the two had discussed enough, he said, "The actual situation can only be judged after seeing it. Whether or not we can teach her can only be determined after meeting her."
Philip narrowed his eyes and said slowly, "In that case, let me introduce you to my daughter."
Philip stood up and said to the butler, "Bring the young lady over."
The old butler nodded and walked out of the room. After a while, he returned with a girl with fiery red hair. The girl was very beautiful, with delicate features and a good appearance, but unfortunately, the first impression she gave was that she was not to be trifled with.
Her fiery red hair and fiery red eyes, slightly raised eyebrows, and appearance alone could reveal her personality.
She was definitely the kind of person you didn't want to mess with. As everyone knows, there aren't many redheads with good tempers, especially since she took her grandfather as her role model.
Her fiery, ruby-like eyes swept over everyone in the room, without stopping for a moment. She only brightened up slightly when she saw her father, Philip. She said excitedly, "Father, we don't need tutors. Ghislaine is enough."
That's what she said, and that's what she really thought.
But everyone in the room was silent.
Eris looked puzzled. Before she could speak, Philip smiled and said, "These two want to be your tutors."
Eris's smile disappeared, and she looked impatient.
Rudeus gave a bitter smile.
Roa had an expression that said, "It's none of my business."
Philip looked interested.
Everyone had different expressions, looking at each other.
Eris turned her gaze to Roa, who was sitting on the sofa, and Rudeus, who was standing next to him.
She pointed to Roa and said, "What do you teach? You don't look much older than me."
Roa thought for a moment and said bluntly, "Hello, I'm here to teach you magic."
Eris fell into thought. She said, "Just teaching magic?"
Roa nodded, stood up, patted Rudeus next to him, and smiled, "This is the teacher who will teach you arithmetic and literacy."
Eris narrowed her eyes. She said with a disdainful expression, "This guy who's shorter than me is going to teach me? Are you kidding me!"
She looked at Rudeus with a provocative gaze, then stood with her arms crossed and her legs apart, showing a clear attitude of looking down on him.
Roa raised his eyebrows slightly. What was this, a test of strength? Did she want him to back down?
Roa turned his gaze to Philip, who was now in a state of "not my business." Feeling Roa's gaze, he even smiled at Roa.
