Ancient Vampire in a Modern World

He positioned himself in a fighting position as he waited for Han Shin to enter his range. Han Shin thought of going to the side and not engaging in a fight with the leader but for some unknown reason, he felt that he would be defeated if he went in that direction. The camp was full of traps and Han Shin was just lucky until now because he didn't even get caught in any trap. 

Han Shin was still fortunate as he didn't even trigger any trap in the camp. One of the reasons why is because of his instinct which tells him where the danger lies. Even though his instinct was much sharper than a normal person it was still not enough to the point that he can avoid everything that his instinct has shown him. 

Han Shin shot forward and when he was about to get near the leader already swung his combat knife towards Han Shin. He raised his arms as his figure rushed towards the leader then blocked the leader's with his left arm then he turned around as he held onto the arm of the leader. He pulled it hard until the leader was thrown on the ground.

But as the leader was getting thrown away he used his left arm who also held a dagger. He tried to attack Han Shin as he pointed the dagger forward towards Han Shin. And as he was pulled and directly pierce Han Shin on the back.

Han Shin was well aware of what was happening. He was not a fool, after all, he had watched a lot of fighting videos and knew that there is someone who tends to sneak attack when fighting. He then materializes his qi on his back and directly blocks the leader's attack. 

Doooghhh!! 

The leader's body got thrown down on the ground as Han Shin looked at him. Dust flew out around the leader's body as his body disrupted the dust on the ground. Han Shin didn't get angry nor pity the man in front of him. He did not have enmity towards them which is why he still hadn't killed anyone nor attacked them with killing intent. After all, he was just a thief and he was in the wrong but even though he was the bad guy he would still choose to be a bad guy just to save his grandson. 

But right now he was sure that the leader would be a big problem for him if he didn't deal a fatal attack on him. The leader was good at long range and he was sure that if he just went away and ran the leader would be a big problem. So after throwing the leader down on the ground he raised one of his feet and then stomp the head of the leader. 

The leader was still able to react even to how fast Han Shin is. He rolled to the side and dodge the foot of Han Shin. Dust flew out from Han Shin's foot, then he hurriedly used another one of his feet and kicked the leader's head. 

The leader was able to dodge but because of how the attack was Han Shin's foot went on the side of the leader's head before hitting the shoulder of the leader. The leader was thrown out but before that, he held Han Shin's foot and was able to drag him. 

Han Shin's foot was pulled by the leader so he hurriedly tried to retract it and stabilize his position. As he did so he bent down and used his fist to attack the back of the leader's head. This caused the leader's head to fall down and his face flattened on the ground.

Then Han Shin still wasn't satisfied because the leader was still unconscious so he punched him again. But this time it was stronger. He also makes sure that his attack would not kill anyone, especially the leader. Although the leader was hit twice in a row he still had consciousness on him which is why Han Shin prepared to attack again but then he felt a cold chill on his neck.

He extended his bent legs as he pushed it hard on the ground with some force and shot out sidewards. After jumping on the side he then looked at his previous location. In his previous location, a combat knife can be seen. Cody tried to stab Han Shin when he was focused on making the leader unconscious. 

Han Shin saw that it was Cody he had already thought about his plan although he was stronger than Cody he had already anticipated that Cody would be the greatest threat to him in close combat so after glancing at him he hurriedly ran away. He was not scared of Cody but he was afraid that there would be more reinforcements that would come if he did not get out in time. And the effect of the sleeping poison might wear off very soon. 

He also knew that even if he was stronger than Cody he would still need to expend a lot of energy and strength. From the very start, he had already used almost half of his energy. And most of it is to defend against the leader's attack in which he used qi materialization. 

Han Shin was already a top cultivator and had reached the stage called qi materialization; it is the stage before qi manifestation. The only difference is that qi materialization can materialize the qi within a limit of the range and it is very small. While qi manifestation allows the individual to materialize the qi even when the distance is 1 meter. It also depends on how long or how far does the person enter the qi manifestation stage. 

Qi manifestation is also known as the first level of the mid-level realm which is why Han Shin was considered to be at the peak and was once a step away from the mid-level realm. But this is only based on a spiritual approach and Han Shin's level is much higher than what is his level in cultivation. Because the level that is currently considered in the world is the level of overall strength which includes the way a person fights, the strength of the body, the innate ability, the mind and lastly is the spiritual power. This was all considered and tested in the levelling of the Union that is enforced throughout the world. 

Having a ranking on the levelling system proves your identity and the higher your level is the more they will respect you. This ranking system is only available for adults but it is only compulsory like in the virtual world but anyone would know that if you don't have this identification you will lose your privilege and some might turn hostile to you. 

Han Shin continued to run but then Cody, who just swung his combat knife, also rushed forward and chased Han Shin. As he kept chasing for Han Shin he had changed his weapon to a sword that has the same structure as a katana. As time passed by Han Shin had already exited the range of the camp and the distance between Cody and him gradually increased.

Creak**

At the next moment as he was running he stepped into a branch that triggered a chain reaction that activated a trap that was already set before. A series of arrows shot towards his direction which caused his pace to slow down that led to Cody getting closer at him. Three arrows came from his right which he dodged by moving his body backwards. Three arrows went past him then at his left side there came another series of arrows that spread in different directions. One of the arrows pointed at his head while another one was pointing at the side of his stomach. And as these arrows travelled through the air there was also a series of arrows that were coming from above. 

The surroundings have already turned dark and only the stars illuminate the surroundings which are why he had missed seeing some arrows coming from the side where the arrows blend in the surroundings. He easily dodged all the arrows that came from his left and above but the one who had blended in the shadows hit his right shoulder. 

Blood gushed out from the wounds that were inflicted by the arrow but he didn't budge from the pain that came from the wounds and instead continued running towards the direction that he was going. Cody chased after him and the distance was only a few breaths away. He used all his strength and dash forward as he caught up with Han Shin. He waved his sword as he reached the range where he could attack Han Shin. 

Han Shin was startled at the sudden increase of speed of Cody; he had already forgotten that he was being chased by Cody when he triggered the trap where he focused all his attention.
