An Exorcist Magical Girl!

Chapter 58

“This is so unfair, of course I will lose!”

Yin Charang pleaded, but the result was set in stone.

“Okay, half a point. Write it down first and erase it later if you don’t die.”

Seon-yeo hummed and wrote the score on the board.

Seo Jun: -2 -3 -3 -3 -2 -3

Seon-yeo: -4 -4 -4 -4 +1 -4

Yin Charang: -5 -5 +2 +1 -5 +0.5

Baek Iri: -5 -2 +2 -2 -5 +1

Hwang Hanju: -5 -2 -3 +1 -4

The movie was 80% finished and it was time for the final ending.

“When I played this with my regular friends, the scoreboard was full within 30 minutes of the movie, but it’s definitely different with Exorcists.”

She whispered so only I could hear.

“You can tell a lot about a person’s personality by looking at this scoreboard, right? Look at all the points Hwang Hanju got. He’s colorful.”

As I listened, I realized that the scores definitely reflected their personalities.

Yin Charang was docked five points at a time because he screamed his head off for every point he got, and Yeo Seon-yeo was docked four points in a row because she was good at screaming but turned her head away during a gory scene.

I’m immune to gore, having been exposed to gruesome monsters as a wannabe magical girl.

But I couldn’t help but flinch every time something jumped out with the sound cranked up.

The only reason I didn’t get docked five points every time like Yin Charang was because I at least tried to stifle my screams.

My eyes were glued to the numbers on the whiteboard, and I immediately started arguing.

“Hey, he doesn’t watch movies, that’s a four-point deduction.”

She giggled and wrote ‘-4’ next to my name.

Yeo Seon-yeo, you bastard, you’re trying to make me dock points.

However, in the very next scene, one of the supporting actors was decapitated, so Seon-yeo had to put a

“-4”

in her grade column as well.

Haha, flirting.

“Guys, let’s stop for a second and take a quick break.”

After another long movie, Hwang Hanju raised his hand and said,

“There’s only 15 minutes left in the movie, what’s the point of taking a break?”

Yeo Seon-yeo rejected it immediately.

“Yeah, I’m pissed. Who wants to go to the bathroom with me?” “F*ck it. You’re the only one I can go with.” “Oh, stop for a second. I’m going to the bathroom.”

Hwanju hit the pause button and ran out of the gym.

Fortunately, there was a short break.

“… How about a 15 point deduction for running away in the middle?”

It was Yin Charang who broke the silence.

Yeo Seon-yeo nodded in agreement and poured another drink.

“How about a 15 point deduction for every 10 seconds?” “Okay, Hwang Hanju is in last place!”

The two of them giggled and manipulated the score, and I played an interlude with Seo Jun.

“Suddenly, we’re going to have a final?” “Elk.” “Nihonium.”

I thought he’d spit out a random word, but it was the name of a real element.

“…Seo Jun, are you an iguana? Do it again. I’ll go first. Gorilla.” “Radium.” “Dude!”

Yin Charang, who had just brought Hwang Hanju down to -400 points, interjected at the end.

“I’m in. Dum dum dum dum dum dum.” “You get this. Toothbrush.”

While we were playing, Hwang Hanju came back quickly.

“What’s minus 400 points? Want to see? Who is it?”

Hwanju made a big scissor mark over dozens of

“-15s”

and started the movie again.

The movie was over in five minutes. In those five minutes, the score didn’t change.

“Oh, well, that’s 15 minutes, including the credits. I should have just watched the whole thing.”

Hwanju frowned and scratched his head.

“In remorse, I’ll deduct five points for myself.”

He wrote ‘-5’ in her score column.

“Come on, let’s add up the scores!”

Yin Charang led the way with a clap of his hands while Yeo Seon-yeo tapped her calculator next to him.

“Seo Jun minus 13 points, me minus 19 points, and Yin Charang minus 11.5 points…” “And?” “Baek Iri minus 15 points, and finally Hwang Hanju minus 18 points. I’m the last!”

That’s how she got us all to buy her a drink at the convenience store, and that’s how she got us to give her the utmost respect for the next week.

I happened to make eye contact with her, and she made a smug

“I won”

face with her mouth, so I turned away like I didn’t see her.

Bad luck.

“Send him out to get something to drink. Hwang Hanju, follow me.”

Seon-yeo said as she led Hanju out of the gym.

“What? I’m coming with you?” “It’s a crime.” “Eh?”

After the two disappeared into the grocery store, I, Seo Jun, and Yin Charang, who were left in the training room, began cleaning up.

The blinds went up and the strong midday sun stung my eyes.

“Ew! Snowball!”

Seeing me scream and grimace, Seo Jun and Yin Charang lowered their eyes and raised the blinds on the other side.

I felt like a ghost.

“What do you want to drink?”

Charang asked as he shut down his computer and returned to his seat.

“She says she’ll take any grapefruit flavored drink.” “I’m an Almond Xyz.” “Hey, Seo Jun, you should use respect too. Why not me?” “Don’t we start next week?”

Seo Jun pointed to the rule on the board.

“Look. It says, ‘Show extreme respect for the rest of the week’.” “Ms. Baek Iri. It says ‘from now until next week’. So, what are you drinking?” “Ah! Seo Jun, don’t tell me!”

I said, and he went right back to cleaning.

“Next week you’ll be begging me to write a half-mal. No, so what did you ask for?” “I just asked for an Americano, I don’t care what brand.” “Wow, why are you drinking grown-up stuff…” “Coffee,”

he said, looking like he was drinking Kool-Aid.

When I stared at him curiously, he replied in a nonchalant tone.

“What kind of adults are you? You should be more like Hwang Hanju and Yeo Seon-yeo.” “Why? What did they do?” “They’re coming up now, you should see for yourself.”

Before I could finish my sentence, the door to the training room burst open.

 “We’re here!”

I was greeted with applause and cheers and accepted a bag of drinks from the grocery store.

“Almond VX is for Seo Jun, SunXt Grapefruit? That’s for me. But what’s this jelly?” “I heard it turns your tongue blue, so I got some. Let’s play rock-paper-scissors and feed the loser. Hey, Yin Charang, here’s your coffee. I got you a special, expensive one.” “Wow! Thank you, Seon-yeo!”

Seon-yeo took out the coffee and handed it to Yin Charang.

I took the remaining blue jelly and two drinks out of the bag and put them on the desk.

“These are for you, Seon-yeo, the ginger tea and the sweet and sour soup. Where’s yours?” “Huh? These are for us to drink.”

She casually unscrewed the lid of the ginger tea and offered it to Hwang Hanju.

Then she took a sip and began to drink.

“Hey, Charang, why are you willing to drink the punishment drink?” “I told you, they have real adult tastes.”

Hearing our giggles, Seon-yeo poured herself a cup of Ssanghwa.

“It’s really delicious. Try it.” “I’ll have… “ “Is it really delicious?” “Oh, no. Your blood type is different.” “You don’t know what my blood type is.” “Yes, but I thought it might be different.”

While Yeo Seon-yeo and I were arguing about the blood type, Yin Charang quietly ran outside.

A minute later, he returned with the director.

“Uh, Director?” “You two, what’s wrong with you?” “Oh no, we’re just surprised by your sudden arrival. It’s not like we’re playing games or anything.” “It’s Hanju, please be quiet.”

The director shook his head with a knowing look.

“Forget it. Just go home early today.” “Really?” “Yes. What’s the point of sitting here watching a movie? Go home and have an early lunch.” “Wow! I’m going home legally!”

Hanju jumped up and down, afraid to let the director finish his sentence.

Hanju swallowed the ginger tea and left the training room in a flash.

“Everyone, I’ll see you next week! Director, I’m leaving! Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye!”

Hanju’s last words echoed through the empty corridor.

The director laughed in disbelief.

“Hehe, hehe… Come in.” “Yes.”

We grabbed our bags and headed out the door, but Yin Charang stopped us with an urgent voice.

“Guys, let’s go down together and not be treacherous. Please. Don’t leave me alone.”

Yin Charang, who had scattered cell phones, wallets, notebooks, pens, and luggage everywhere, struggled to get out of the room while his mouth never stopped talking, urging us to return home quickly.

“Ah, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh. Come with me. I’ll get it in a second.” “Slow down, I’ll wait.”

Seo Jun said, and suddenly Yin Charang was quiet.

Twenty seconds later he turned off the light and came out.

“Thank you for your patience. Let’s go!” “Hey, Charang, did you get your VerX?” “…Yes! Hey, I’m really, really sorry.”

Seon-yeo sends him back to the training room in a second.

“Where did I put my Xs?”

Yin Charang’s urgent voice came from inside.

Seon-yeo shouted at him.

“Charang, did you take the transport map you left behind?”

At this rate, I’ll be home in the middle of the night.

I decided to use the bathroom to wash my hands. I spilled my grapefruit drink earlier and it was sticky and slimy.

“I’m going to wash my hands. You’re not going to make me bloat up waiting for the salt tea, are you?” “Go, go. I’ll wait.”

Seon-yeo waved her hands in the air and said she had plenty of time to wash her hair.

As I washed the grapefruit drink off my hands and walked back to where the kids were waiting, I slowed down involuntarily when I heard a voice.

“It’s… “ “Yeah.”

Seo Jun and Seon-yeo were discussing something.

I hid in the corner of the hallway and listened to their conversation.

Surely they weren’t about to start a fight?

But much to my concern, the conversation was actually quite calm.

“I’m still a little nervous about you.” “I know.”

Huh? This doesn’t sound like a good conversation.

“But the way you and Charang and Iri get along with each other makes me wonder if I’m wrong about you. Ouch, I’m confused.” “I don’t think you’re wrong, because I was an asshole to you and the others on the mission, and I’m really sorry about that…” “Heh…Hey, Seo Jun.” “Yeah.” “What happened to you?” “…Yeah.” “And you’re not going to make me understand, even if I keep thinking you’re a crazy bastard?” “…Sorry.” “Forget it, f*ck you. Who am I to keep making you feel uncomfortable when the two people you’ve been hanging out with the most, Yin Charang and Baek Iri, are standing still. Oh, and.”

After a moment of silence, Seon-yeo’s voice resumed.

“…I’m sorry for grabbing you like that.”

Immediately after that, I heard the door to the training room open and a voice rushed out, interrupted by Yin Charang.

“Guys, I found X! What’s the mood? Where’s Baek Iri again?”

Damn it, Charang, pay attention!

“She went to the toilet.”

I shouldn’t go now. I have to stay for about twenty or thirty seconds and then leave like I just arrived, otherwise I’ll turn myself in like,

“I just listened to everything you guys talked about!”

I slowly count to 20 in my head and then casually show up.

“When did you come out with Charang? Did I make you all wait long?” “No, I just got out.” “Let’s go.”

We casually walked out of the training center.

“What are you doing so late?”

Hanju, who we  thought had left first, met us on the first floor.

“Hwang Hanju?” “What, didn’t you go home?”

But Hanju wasn’t the only one there.

“Everyone, it’s been a while.”

Hair tied back neatly. Glasses hiding tired eyes.

The Association’s new exorcist was waiting for us.
