American Dragon Jake Long ( I am Jonathan Long )

The homecoming preparations were in full swing and Spud hatched a plan to sign himself up at the homecoming float committee which Stacey is a part of and has access to the storage locker room otherwise known as the kissy kissy closet.

In the darkness he plans to speak in a mexican accent which according to Spud is the voice of Reynaldo the Strapping Argentinian exchange student in order to kiss Stacey. Trixie also signs up for the float committee because Kyle Wilkins has also signed up at that club. Jake and Rose are elected as nominees for the homecoming king and queen which is relayed to them by Sun Park.

Jake and Rose were simply having lunch at the cafeteria and at that moment her huntspager was beeping. Rose checked it and said," I have to go. The huntsclan has found the thirteenth Aztec skull." " Well, see you soon." Replied Jake.

Central Park Zoo (Aztec exhibit):

The huntsmaster along with his 10 most loyal subordinates ( Seven of them were planning on defecting while Rose was already a double agent and 88 & 89 are first year recruits who could quit anytime.) They were currently in front of the Aztec exhibit at the Central Park Zoo and the huntsmaster leaped on to an Aztec statue and smashed it open with his huntstick and from it came out the thirteenth Aztec skull.

" Finally, we got the thirteenth Aztec skull. Once I unite all thirteen skulls I will have the power to wipe out all magical creatures and improve our financial situation." Declared the huntsmaster. At that moment a red blur suddenly snatched the Aztec skull which turned out to be Jake in his dragon form. " What do you expect to do with this one when you're missing 2 now 3, huntsfool?" Asked Jake in a mocking voice.

" I'm going to skin you alive dragon. Aaghrrhh." Roared the huntsmaster like a rabid beast. Turns out constantly losing manpower, money and core personnel is injurious for your mental health to the extent that you lose your capability to form coherent words slowly but surely. Huntsgirl attacked Jake and both of them smashed through the roof the security room where all the CCTV monitors were kept and there was also a CCTV camera in the room.

" Jake I need to go because the huntsclan has been getting suspicious of me. Quickly go and retrieve the skull before the huntsclan gets it." Said Rose. Jake nodded and left off. 88 & 89 were walking and rhyming as if they had all the time in the world Fu stopped them and they started making fun of him. The time they spent mocking Fu gave Jake enough time to reach Fu's location.

88 & 89 seeing Jake they were terrified and dropped the skull and ran off. Jake successfully retrieved the thirteenth Aztec skull.

The next day:

Everyone was working on the floats and Spud tried to get Stacey to come to the kissy kissy closet by slipping a note in her notebook which slipped out and landed in front of Trixie which she thought was sent to her by Kyle Wilkins. Trixie and Spud had an accidental smooch session and when they realised their mistakes both of them went running in terror.

Meanwhile back at the huntsclan New York branch huntsmaster was seeing the recording of Rose and Jake in his dragon form having a conversation about how the huntsclan was suspicious of her. The huntsmaster was fuming and as he was about to punch the monitor but at the last moment he refrained from completing that action because he remembered the poor financial condition of the huntsclan but he wanted to break something so he picked up his used toothpick and broke it.

88 whispered to 89," Man, huntsdude must have it rough to the extent that he can't afford to break stuff." " IIII HHHaaave a mission for you two." Said the huntsmaster in a voice that almost sounded like a growl.

Jake used a room at the school to set up a private dance room complete with lighting, disco ball, drinks and snacks. Rose was surprised to say the least as she finally asked," Jake, what's all this?" " Well, since the huntsclan is getting suspicious of you I thought that why not have our own little homecoming when it's uncertain whether any one of us will be able to attend tonight's homecoming dance at the Pantheon building due to our things." Replied Jake.

Rose contemplated for a few moments while dancing and said," You know what? Let's go to the homecoming dance. Huntsclan be damned." Said Rose with determination which surprised Jake and he finally asked," Rose, are you sure?" " Absolutely positive and don't let Mr. Long go overboard." Replied Rose.

Jake laughed at Rose's statement and promised that he will convince Jonathan not to do anything excessive. Everything was seen by 88 & 89 from the sunroof of the room. They tried to give an evil raspy laugh but instead they started coughing.

Jonathan's office:

Jonathan was sitting in his office and in front of him was seated Nigel Thrall. " So, Mr. Thrall how may I help you today?" I asked in a business neutral voice. " Um, Mr. Long thank you very much for taking out time from your busy schedule to meet with me. As everyone knows, after the sudden disappearance of Eli Excelsior Pandarus you purchased all of his assets down to the grass of his lawn at a reasonable price.

As you may have noticed there were some odd objects and grimoires written in unknown languages. I was interested in purchasing those oddities." Said Nigel in a British accented voice. " Pandarus was walking a path of certain damnation with an uncertain hope of minimal return. Now the question is whether your willing to walk that path Nigel Thrall the apprentice wizard." I said in an unchanged voice.

Nigel was flustered to say the least and after stammering for a few times and finally he said," Y...yyess." " Why?" I asked. " Because I want to prove that I can become an Archmage despite coming from a low level house of nobles." Replied Nigel. " But that goal has changed. Hasn't it?" I asked. " Well, you're son is to blame for that. He has responsibilities unknown to you but important nonetheless and he still has time to be happy and have fun." Said Nigel with emotion in his eyes.

" I'm proud of Jake for figuring out how to balance his human life and American Dragon life." I replied with pride in my voice. " So, you also know that as well." Said Nigel in a defeated voice. " Nigel Thrall I'm not just a average smart guy I'm a very paranoid smart guy. As much as I would love to explain to you many things, I have yet to tell my family those things and I will tell you in due time. Now you Nigel Thrall have a choice take Pandarus's junk or walk the path of true Arcane. Which will you choose?" I asked Nigel.

" True path of Arcane." Replied Nigel. " Very well, follow me." I said while getting up and Nigel followed me. We went to my personal armoury and I took him to my Arcane equipment area where the things related to magic forged by myself are kept. I said," Choose a staff." Nigel examined every staff and finally chose one.

" The staff of endless wisdom. It suits you." I said. Then I started walking towards the exit and said to him," You will go to the Utopia Planetia University where you will study metaphysics which in simpler terms is magic at Schola Arcane where all the magic this world has to offer is categorised, then taught and then some.

There is also more powerful magic which is classified as Psychic art and when you start practicing those arts you will be identified as Psyker. Psychic powers are categorised in four tiers. Gamma level psyker, Beta level psyker, Alpha level psyker and finally Alpha Plus level psyker. By learning psychic arts one learns to use the power of emotions present in the sea of souls or the empyrean and in this sea of souls emotions are being stored from the very beginning of the universe.

The one you call gods are basically beings who are able to use the power of the empyrean generated from human emotions specifically faith. But a traditional psyker walks the path between salvation and damnation while wielding power of varying degree but even a gamma level psyker can destroy continents but a psyker trained by Schola Arcane can use the empyrean's power without any consequences making them even more powerful because of the standard control staff which shields the psyker from prying eyes keeping their souls pure and uncorrupted.

But yes, all will come down to your dedication and hard work. " I explained. " Very well, Mr. Long I accept your offer." Replied Nigel. I extended my hand, took his staff and activated it using my blood after all it's a master crafted control staff. I gave him 12 hours to sort out his affairs and told him to come here. He left in a whoosh of purple smoke. " Now time to witness the final act of the huntsclan." I said to myself.

1 hour before the homecoming dance:

Rose was called to the office of the huntsmaster for something but her guts were telling her something was going to be horribly wrong. She entered and gave a small bow and said," Master." "Ah, huntsgirl how nice of you to take time out for us from your busy social life." Said Huntsmaster in mock politeness. " Master, what do you mean?" Asked Rose.

88 & 89 then turned on the big screen where the looney toons started playing which triggered the huntsmaster's PTSD as he let out a horrified scream. 88 & 89 quickly changed the file and it started playing the recording of the conversation between Jake and Rose. Rose was reprimanding herself in her mind for making such a rookie mistake.

A few huntschump surrounds her and the huntsmaster ordered them to capture her as they are about to capture her the huntsmaster says," I know your every move after all I'm the one who taught you and I trained them especially for the sole purpose of subduing you in case you ever rebelled."

But Rose easily subdued them, took a huntstick and pointed it's blade at the huntsmaster's neck and said," Yes, you did teach me a lot but unlike you I kept honing my skills, I analysed and tried to improve when I used to hunt the American dragon then I learned from him and his grandfather, I also listened to the advice given to the American dragon by his father and then I observed Sage who had a complete efficient fighting style. No flashy moves, no yelling just pure completion of objectives. So, yes you did teach me the basics but I kept improving while you were busy daydreaming about world dominance."

The huntsmaster laughed and said," Yes, you're absolutely right about surpassing me but you can't go against me and you will betray your precious American Dragon." " I will never betray him!!!" Declared Rose with fury and certainty in her voice. " Oh, but you will because I hold something very dear to you." Said the huntsmaster and turned on a live feed which showed a middle aged brown haired man and a blonde woman having dinner. Rose freezes and finally says," They... They are my parents."

" What have you done to them you monster!!!" Rose roared. " Nothing. Yet." Replied the huntsmaster nonchalantly. " But something might happen to them if you don't get me the three remaining skulls." Said the huntsmaster coldly. Rose tightly shut down her eyes and hung her head down and finally said in a hurt voice," Fine."

" You do this final thing I will let you be together with your family." Promised the huntsmaster which Rose knew meant he will kill them all little did that fool know Rose was also prepared for this exact scenario. " Oh, huntsgirl. Give me your wristwatch. I know it's some kind of special Long tech I just don't know what it does." Said the huntsmaster while extending his hand which clearly demanded Rose's watch. Rose took it off and gave it to the huntsmaster. Huntsmaster inspected the watch for a while and said," It's rough and rugged yet has a unique beauty to it. I'm keeping it." He put it on.

Rose just watched everything coldly. She followed the huntsmaster to the huntscopter which under her guidance reached Canal Street Electronics and the huntsmaster did try to rob things but couldn't because of the impenetrable metal cabinets and the password protected locks which were made by Infinitum Home & Business security.

Fortunately the safe in which the skulls were kept was only magically enchanted which was easily broken by a few plasma blasts from the huntstick. As they were in a hurry they forgot to take away the CCTV footage.

Pantheon building, Homecoming dance:

It is already past the agreed time and Rose hasn't come yet which gives Jake the feeling that something is wrong. He tried to contact Rose using the neuroclock but it said," Unauthorized user detected. Connection not possible." At that moment miss Sun went up at the stage to announce the homecoming king and queen. Jake suddenly got a call from Fu and Fu informed him that the skulls were stolen and it was Rose who did it.

" Fu, we need to stop them, ASAP." Said Jake as he is about to leave Fu stopped him and said," Relax kid. They need something called gargoyles of pantheon to use the power of the skulls. They are a set of 12 gaping gargoyle statues set up in a surrounding position." Jake suddenly looks around and takes a picture of one of the gargoyle statues at the roof of the Pantheon building which he sends to Fu and asks," Does this match?"

" Yeah, wait how did you find them kid?" Asked Fu incredulously. " Fu!!! You and gramps need to come to the Pantheon building as quickly as possible." " This year's homecoming king and queen are Jake and Rose." Declared Sun Park and at that moment a huntscopter came above them and threw down ropes using which 12 huntschumps came down holding 12 Aztec skulls.

Finally the huntsmaster with huntsgirl in tow came down after his bodyguard squad came down. " So, this is what the American dragon looks like? I'm honestly surprised that the reason for the huntsclan's trouble is a 14 year old boy who is not even of magical descent but rather is a half breed mongrel." Said the huntsmaster.

" Hmm, if I remember correctly this half breed mongrel and his normal father have pushed the huntsclan to the very edge of extinction. What's worse my dad thinks you guys are just some other insignificant terrorist drug cult to be crushed under the conveyor belt of science and reason. He has done things that no nation has been able to achieve. He has won the war against drugs by dismantling it from the very roots, he privately runs a military on a scale that has not been seen since the time of The British East India Company. So, perhaps I'm a half breed mongrel but a half breed mongrel that has come the closest to dismantling your centuries old institution than any other dragon. Yet with time, money and technology by your side you still couldn't destroy the magical community which makes up barely five percent of the world's population." Said Jake word by word mockingly.

The huntsmaster enraged attacked Jake only to be sent flying by a fast swing of Jake's tail. Sun Park had already evacuated all the children. Soon Lao Shi, Sun Park, Haley and Fu came to help Jake. Jake didn't bother to transform into his dragon form because he was easily manhandling the huntschumps coming his way. Finally Rose came. " They threatened your family. Didn't they?" Asked Jake. Rose didn't answer just shaked her head up and down while having her eyes shut.

" It's okay Rose. I would have done the same." Said Jake in order to reassure her. " I'm sorry Jake but I have to do this." Said Rose and attacked Jake. Jake turned into his dragon form and parried the attacks but at a moment of carelessness Rose used a unicorn hair imbued chain to tie up Jake.

The huntsmaster his dragon skull helmet broke and his dress tattered including his mask which revealed a bald head and dragon shaped birthmark beginning from the left side of his face and extending till his chest came behind huntsgirl holding the 13th skull. " Well done, huntsgirl." Complimented the huntsmaster.

All of Jake's friends have been subdued and it seems like the huntsclan is about to win. Huntsmaster held up the skull and a blue ray of light connected all the skulls while the skull held by the huntsmaster was encased in a blue light sphere. The huntsmaster yelled," By the pantheon of Aztec skulls I wish for the destruction of all....." But he couldn't finish as Rose shot him in the back.

Rose quickly caught the skull and yelled," The destruction of all huntsclan." A green wave shot around at the sky centered around the pantheon building. All those who still had allegiance to the huntsclan which amounted to every huntschump present because they were personally brainwashed by the huntsmaster.

All of them started to be pulled up to the sky while their dragon marks were glowing green and they started to vanish leaving behind a momentary green spark. Jake was seeing the scene with growing horror because Rose was still technically a part of the huntsclan. Rose came to Jake and started to release him from the chains binding him.

Jake quickly got up, grabbed Rose and yelled," Are you out of your mind, Rose?? You're still affiliated with the huntsclan!!!" " Jake this was the only way to keep both mine and your family safe." Replied Rose. Jake facepalmed and said," Terra Defence Corps has dismantled the huntsclan to the extent that these few chumps were the only ones left alive and loyal. I secretly called Sage and he should be arriving in a few minutes."

Rose however didn't seem distraught as she said," Well, compared to the amount of bad deeds I accumulated perhaps this outcome is already very lenient. Jake, thank you for loving me despite all the things I did to you. I'm truly the luckiest girl alive." Rose smiled as her mark started to glow green and she was getting pulled up towards the sky. Jake tried to hold her down but Rose simply smiled towards Jake and said," It's ok Jake. I'll be alright."

Jake started crying as Rose finally slipped away from Jake's grasp. Rose had a tranquil expression on her face and she closed her eyes in preparation for her flashy end. " You can still save her." Came a monotone voice which prompted Jake to turn towards the source of the voice which was Sage holding the 13th Aztec skull extended towards Jake.

Jake immediately understood what Sage meant and grabbed the skull. Lao Shi interjected and said," Jake, you can't use the skulls for your own benefit. The skulls are just too dangerous." " It won't be for my benefit. It would be for her. All she ever wanted was a normal life." Said Jake angrily. " I wish that the huntsclan had never taken Rose." Yelled Jake.

The skulls synchronised again and released a green wave and time of certain events starts to rewind and Rose starts to live a normal life while the memories of her life as the huntsgirl was hidden deep inside her subconscious mind. Jake couldn't understand if his wish worked or not so he angrily smashed the skull in his hand resulting in all the skulls being destroyed. " Consider them destroyed." Said Jake and simply flew off.

At the distance on another building a being wearing military combat gear was clutching her head by her blonde, straight hair. Jonathan inserted an object of impossible geometry in a panel of the celestial orrary and tied the divergent timeline with the main timeline because if that is not done the divergent timeline consisting of Rose's fulfilling normal life would be destroyed by the Wave motion reactors even before it exists.

A few days later:

" Jakey, are you sure you are okay?" Asked Trixie clearly concerned. " Well, I'm not giving up but I will be fine." Said Jake. As he was about to skate off on his skateboard he bumped into someone and it turned out to be Rose. " Hey." Jake stammered. " Hey, to yourself." Replied Rose while picking up the scattered books and Jake started to help her. " Have I seen you before?" Asked Rose. " Eh, we go to the same school. Well, see you around." Said Jake. " Actually you won't. Dad got a job in Hong Kong and we are going away on the night flight. But it was nice talking to you." Said Rose. " Goodbye, Rose." Muttered Jake.

Arc 1 of season 2 has ended. After delivering the extra chapter explaining the various departments of Utopia Planetia University I will go on a hiatus to write the filler chapters.
