American Comics: The Strongest Villain

Chapter 236: Chapter 234: Suicide Squad List

I can move! I really can move!

Barbara Gordon was ecstatic, swinging her legs with excitement. As she grew more accustomed to the sensation, she eagerly prepared to stand up. But just as she was about to roll off the bed, she caught sight of Su Sheng watching her with a knowing smirk. That was when she realized something embarrassing—she wasn't wearing anything.

What had been a simple act of getting out of bed suddenly became anything but ordinary.

Barbara's face flushed deep red as she hurriedly pulled the blanket over herself. "You… you need to go!" she whispered, mortified, her eyes avoiding Su Sheng's gaze.

"Alright," Su Sheng chuckled softly before turning around and closing the door behind him. As the door clicked shut, Barbara exhaled in relief.

Su Sheng made his way to the console in the operating room and began hacking into ARGUS's network. He was curious about Amanda Waller's latest project—the Suicide Squad. As he combed through top-secret files, a list of candidates appeared on the screen:

Deadshot (Floyd Lawton): A veteran mercenary and expert marksman, Deadshot was known for his incredible precision with firearms. With his signature mask and wrist-mounted silencers, he had committed numerous crimes in Gotham and Star City before being apprehended by Batman while shopping with his daughter.

Captain Boomerang (George Harkness): A notorious criminal with a talent for turning boomerangs into deadly weapons.

Killer Croc (Waylon Jones): A monstrous human-crocodile hybrid with incredible strength and savage instincts. Despite his fearsome appearance, his temper was as volatile as his power.

El Diablo (Chato Santana): Once a gang member covered in tattoos, El Diablo had the power to control fire. However, after accidentally killing his wife and daughter in a fiery outburst, he voluntarily turned himself in, seeking redemption for his sins.

Su Sheng paused, murmuring, "El Diablo is probably the most powerful among them, with abilities resembling magical curses."

He continued scrolling.

Slipknot (Christopher Weiss): A master of escape and infiltration, Slipknot used indestructible ropes to bind and restrain his enemies. His expertise with ropes made him a dangerous foe.

Katana (Tatsu Yamashiro): A skilled Japanese warrior wielding a deadly samurai sword. Seeking revenge for her husband's murder, she also served as Amanda Waller's bodyguard.

As Su Sheng read further, he came to the final entry—one that piqued his interest the most:

Harley Quinn (Harleen Quinzel): Once a psychology student at Gotham University, Harley had fallen under the influence of Su Sheng. Her obsession with him had turned her into a wild, unpredictable criminal. Despite her incarceration, the photo in her file showed Harley smiling brightly, her two-tone pigtails adding to her manic charm.

"Even without the Joker, she became Harley Quinn," Su Sheng mused, staring at the photo. "Maybe it's fate."

The sound of footsteps approached from behind.

"I want out of here," Catwoman's voice cut through the silence, cold and detached.

"Sure." Su Sheng turned to face her, a smile on his lips. He figured she had seen Barbara walking again by now. "But are you sure you want to leave her alone?"

"She's none of my concern," Catwoman replied dismissively.

Su Sheng shrugged. With a wave of his hand, he opened a wormhole. Catwoman hesitated for just a moment before stepping through it. As she disappeared, the wormhole closed behind her.

Not long after, Barbara emerged from her room, moving slowly but steadily. "She's gone?" she asked, slightly out of breath.

Su Sheng nodded. "Yeah, it's just us now."

Barbara's face flushed again, but this time she tried to hide it. "Is it alright if I walk around?"

"Of course," Su Sheng said, gesturing for her to explore. He knew she wouldn't be able to access any sensitive areas without his permission, and the movement would help her recovery.

As Barbara began to walk, Su Sheng contemplated the next step in her healing process. He had two ideas in mind. The first was to use Supergirl's method of transferring Kryptonian powers to Barbara, allowing her to heal through sunlight, though it came with significant risks—his calculations weren't quite complete yet. The second option involved the Green Lantern Corps' ring, which had the ability to heal and restore.

Although Earth 1, Earth 2, and Earth 38 didn't have active Green Lanterns, Su Sheng knew the Corps existed in the multiverse. His thoughts drifted to Hal Jordan, one of the greatest Green Lanterns who had been tragically killed by Superman before he could fulfill his potential.

As these thoughts swirled, Su Sheng's phone rang. A glance at the screen brought a smirk to his face.

"Finally," he said, picking up. "So, you got her out?"

"Where are you?" came Batman's low, measured voice.

Su Sheng's smile widened. "Guess it's time for the next move."
