American Comics: The Strongest Villain

Chapter 234: Chapter 232: Sister and Sister, Silly and Unclear!

Su Sheng's eyes flickered mischievously as he glanced at Catwoman's backside. With a chuckle, he teased, "Still hurting? Want me to rub it for you?"

Catwoman stepped back, shooting him a sharp look. "Don't even think about it. I'm not like the others."

"Others?"

"Felicity, Laurel, and Harry... You think I don't know? They're all head over heels for you. You're a bastard, but somehow you've got them wrapped around your finger," Catwoman muttered in frustration.

Su Sheng just shrugged. "Maybe I'm good at what I do?"

"Shameless!" Catwoman glared at him with a mix of annoyance and amusement.

Su Sheng chuckled, thinking back to when he first met Catwoman and Harley Quinn. It was strange how things turned out—Harley was obsessed with him, and Catwoman, despite their banter, had stuck around. Even though he hadn't checked in on Harley yet, he knew she'd be fine. After all, she had her own unpredictable way of dealing with things.

"Can you really help Barbara walk again?" Catwoman asked, her usual sarcasm replaced with genuine concern.

"I found a few techniques that could work. We'll start tomorrow, but it'll take time before she fully recovers," Su Sheng replied casually.

Catwoman sighed in relief but shot him a wary glance. "Good. But don't get any strange ideas with her. She's been through enough."

"A strange idea? Like a pillow?" Su Sheng asked, feigning innocence. "Now that you mention it, I could use one. How about it? A little cameo?"

"Get lost!" Catwoman snapped, turning away, her hips swaying provocatively as she left the room.

Amused, Su Sheng watched her leave, but then turned his attention to his wristband and contacted Supergirl from Earth-38. A video projection appeared, and Supergirl's face lit up with curiosity.

"Is that Earth-One? Are you on the Disciple?" she asked, her eyes wide with interest.

Su Sheng smiled. "Yeah, it doesn't feel like we're in different worlds, does it? More like we're just in different time zones."

The two chatted for over half an hour, sharing stories and updates, before Su Sheng ended the call and headed to his room. After a quick shower, he lay down, but sleep eluded him. Maybe Catwoman had a point—perhaps he did need a pillow.

Grinning, Su Sheng activated his wristband again and checked in on a few people on Earth-38, including Lucy Lane, Alex, and even Lena Luthor. But they were either unavailable or already asleep, leaving him with no one to talk to. With a shrug, Su Sheng slipped into his phaseless mode, passing through the walls of his room and into Catwoman's.

Surprisingly, Catwoman was still awake, almost as if she had been expecting him. As soon as he appeared, she lashed out with her signature black whip.

Snap!

The whip cracked in the air, and Su Sheng barely dodged it as Catwoman glared at him. "I told you—don't try anything."

"Hard to guard, aren't you?" Su Sheng smirked, before retreating. With Catwoman out of the question and Barbara still recovering, his thoughts wandered to someone else.

Argonaut City.

It was late at night when Su Sheng arrived at Alura's home. The house was quiet, the lights dim, and Su Sheng moved silently through the rooms until he reached the bedroom. Inside, Alura lay peacefully on the bed, wearing light, cool pajamas. Without a second thought, Su Sheng climbed into bed beside her. Alura stirred slightly, startled, but relaxed when she saw it was Su Sheng.

As she trembled slightly in his arms, Su Sheng whispered softly. "Shh, don't say anything. Just sleep."

Alura didn't resist, and the night passed quietly.

The next morning, sunlight streamed through the window, gently waking Su Sheng from his sleep. A startled scream echoed in the room, and Su Sheng opened his eyes to see Alura standing at the door, looking shocked.

"What's the matter?" Su Sheng mumbled, still half-asleep. But then, as he glanced down, he noticed something odd—the woman who had been in his arms all night wasn't Alura. She had gotten up and was now standing by the side, glaring at him.

It was Astra, Alura's twin sister.

Su Sheng blinked, then let out a laugh. "Astra? Well, this is awkward."

Astra gritted her teeth, but said nothing. It was clear she wasn't happy about the mix-up. The two sisters looked exactly alike, and in the dim light of the previous night, Su Sheng hadn't noticed the difference. Now, however, the only distinguishing feature between them was Alura's streak of white hair.

"Why were you in Alura's room?" Su Sheng asked, clearly amused. "I thought you were her."

Without waiting for an answer, he glanced at the time. "I've got to go. We'll talk about this later."

With that, Su Sheng phased out of the room and back to his own world, leaving both sisters standing in stunned silence.

The awkwardness lingered between them. Astra, clearly irritated, turned to her sister. "We need to talk."

Alura sighed, knowing this was going to be a long conversation.

Back on the Disciple, Su Sheng showered and got to work on the technology that would help Barbara Gordon regain her ability to walk. As he worked, he heard familiar footsteps approaching. He didn't need to turn around to know it was Catwoman—the rhythm of her walk was unmistakable.

A sweet fragrance filled the air before she even arrived. Su Sheng turned his head slightly and saw Catwoman standing in the doorway, her loose hair and long black dress giving her an elegant yet sultry look.

"What's for breakfast?" she asked casually.

Su Sheng chuckled. "I'm full already."

Catwoman raised an eyebrow. "I'm warning you—don't get any ideas with me. I'm not interested."

"Naughty, naughty," Su Sheng teased. Before Catwoman could react, she felt a light slap on her backside. She spun around, but no one was behind her. Turning back, she saw Su Sheng smirking, his hand raised playfully.

"That bastard…" she muttered under her breath, fuming as Su Sheng returned to his work.
