Chapter 622: 219, The provisions are not ready, but the enemy goes first

Donnie returned to Atlantic City, not just with Helen, but with two additional people, Bavie Leff and Winston Marl!

These two were talents discovered by Cameron for Donnie at Columbia University, and after interviewing them, Donnie brought them back directly!

He had Steve Cotting take the two men to the Surf Hotel, while Donnie went back to his seaside manor with Helen. After resting for a day, Donnie returned to the Surf Hotel.

In Donnie's office, aside from Robert, Chris, Bavie Leff, and Winston Marl, there was a middle-aged man named Duster Boqi.

"Boss, I've looked over the plan for the Apollo Chain, and there are several very important issues that we must address!"

Duster Boqi was the chain company management talent Maholi had found for Donnie. During Donnie's time away, he had already arrived in Atlantic City and had been studying Donnie's Apollo Chain's plan.

Now that Donnie was back, he immediately shared his thoughts with him.

"Speak!" Donnie nodded.

Duster Boqi said, "First of all, the company headquarters. Forgive my frankness, but Atlantic City is unsuitable to serve as the headquarters for Apollo Company. Although Atlantic City's development has improved in the past two years, and the transportation is more convenient, as the headquarters for a national chain company, its geographical location is still inadequate. If possible, I would even like to move the Apollo Chain's headquarters to one of the central states, which would allow us to better radiate across the entire country."

Donnie waved his hand, acknowledging that Atlantic City really wasn't suitable as the headquarters for Apollo Chain, not to mention the mismatch in atmosphere; the attributes of Atlantic City alone could easily lead to management issues.

"The Midwest won't work, but we could move the headquarters to New York!"

Donnie couldn't accept relocating Apollo Chain's head office to the central part of the country either, as it was too far from Atlantic City. In this era without internet or passenger planes, moving the headquarters of Apollo Chain to the Midwest would be like completely handing over the company to the entire management team. Donnie believed that given American habits, they would certainly try to marginalize him eventually.

So, the only option was New York, which was already being prepared as his business center.

Although moving to New York would affect the company's management of its branches, Donnie knew that the aviation industry would soon face new developmental opportunities, and by then, the situation would still be acceptable!

Duster Boqi nodded, knowing that having the headquarters in the Midwest was a mere wish, and he understood Donnie's concerns well.

"The second issue, in addition to the company's headquarters, is to better manage the national branches. I suggest dividing the entire Apollo Chain into several regions, with each region responsible for the business management of several states. Then the headquarters would macroscopically coordinate the situation of each branch. This would increase the company's operating costs, but at the same time, it would be conducive to better managing the situation in each region," Duster Boqi proposed.

Donnie was very pleased with Duster Boqi's suggestion, something he hadn't thought of before.

"Agreed!"

Donnie first agreed to Duster Boqi's request, then pointed to Bavilev, who was sitting nearby, "Bavilev is a talent I brought back from Columbia, but he's still young and has much to learn. Duster, you will instruct him. He will help you with this matter!"

Bavilev smiled and greeted Duster Boqi, "Mr. Boqi, I look forward to your guidance!"

Duster Boqi's expression changed slightly. Though he had considered before arriving that Donnie wouldn't fully trust him, it was still somewhat unpleasant to have a young man follow him around when the company was still in the planning phase.

Donnie saw the change in Duster Boqi's expression and guessed his inner turmoil, but he didn't plan to console Duster Boqi over this matter. He couldn't afford to place all his trust in someone he still didn't know very well.

In fact, Donnie didn't completely trust Bavilev either. Putting the two together was merely to have them supervise each other.

After all, the Apollo Chain hadn't yet been established. If it were already operational, Donnie would definitely have sent Bavilev for training first.

For now, he had no choice but to rush them into position, hoping they would familiarize themselves with the work quickly.

"Mr. Leff, you flatter me, we should cooperate with each other!" Duster Boqi knew the decision was irreversible and kindly responned to Bavilev, then continued talking to Donnie.

"Thirdly, the construction of the management team. Here's a list of people I interviewed during this period, along with their detailed information!"

Donnie picked up the list from the desk, but his gaze turned to Robert, who had yet to speak.

Since Donnie couldn't be involved in the interviews himself, this task naturally fell to Robert.

Robert nodded at Donnie, implying through eye contact: "The competence of these people can't be determined yet, but their resumes are certainly impressive!"

Donnie nodded, understanding Robert's meaning, and then began to look at the contents of the list.

A few minutes later, "Okay, I'll have Mashang Evans search for office space for you in New York. For now, you'll work in Atlantic City!"
