Back in Tokyo street I managed to rent small apartment the prices was bit high but it's affordable next I'll go to hunter association for my license I checked my status turns out I have lot of points my level is 57 still long way to go after spending the remaining points I take shower and rest for today. Even in sleeping my past still haunts my mind I can see everyone laughing at me they call me useless, talentless, not worthy kind, there I saw Evan and Leslie together holding hands stand on top while me will always be the last.
Next morning I went to Hunter association build located at center of Tokyo as I entered the place was full with people some are newly hunters others were seasoned. I slowly approaching reception table the female receptionist welcome me with smile face " welcome to Hunter association can I'll be at services?" Her tone was playfull I explained to her that I want to be Hunter the receptionist began handed me a sheet of paper form she asked me to fill it up and handed to her after finishing.
I quickly fill up the form and handed to her then she began the work she told me the process will take around ten to fifteen minutes I nodded and went to cafe for drinks while inside I encountered by unexpected events. There was a girl stand In front three muscular guys " Move away girl the deal is made you already lost the armor belong to us" one of muscular guy tell her to go away the girl glance at them with anger " that because you trick me I never thought I had to fight three of you" the girl sneered.
" Face it kid you lose now walk away you accept the deal " the third muscular guy with mocking tone tell her to go the girl slowly walk away passing next to me I noticed tears came out from her eyes this is cruel world girl you had to be strong as girl already left the trio suddenly laughing and began mocking the girl " what an idiot bitch I never thought she believed it who gonna give free power armor like this well at least we did it" they laughed together with mockery tone.
These people really irritating me I look at the power armor turns out it was Mark.IV model considering as rare model known as Renegade power armor made few years after Mark.III not much recorded about this power armor only it famous among smugglers and mercenary due to it's agility and flexibility originally Mark.IV were made exclusively for female but due lot of requests from male they decided to made as unisex type. Few minutes later I finally get my Hunter license and I was shocked when I see it " Rank-D " my tone with full of disappointment the receptionist explained that every new registered Hunter will start as D-Rank then they gonna take quest to level up the rank after they reach certain points the Association will notify you to come for Evaluation and Rank up from D to C.
After finishing up I quickly left the building for quest the receptionist told me there will be dungeon open tonight I need to prepare as I passed the alleyway my ears catch a voice of someone crying but slow. Curious with crying voice I decided to follow to find the source the path was thin but there still a room to maneuver the crying getting more and more clear as I reach the end the source came from small box I slowly walked to see who made that crying.
Turns out it was the girl I meet before in hunter association " are you alright?" My soft voice stops her sobbing as she lifted up her head as she saw me with nervous tone she spoke " please...sir can you help me...."just she's about to cry again I quickly calm her down by offering one of my sausage rolls. The girl calmly grabbed it and eat slowly I sat next to her in small alley way the girl name was Chiaki iwatani she from saitama city her reasons came to Tokyo because she wants reclaimed back her sister belongings after her death Hunter association called our family to retrieve her belongings one of them is Mark.IV power armor. According to her the armor was made for her only but after her death the armor was under hunter association care for years but when she came to get the armor those trio tricked her.
After listening to her story I decided to help Chiaki get her sister powe armor back according to her the trio muscular hideout was at abandoned warehouse not far from here. Hearing that Chiaki suddenly sobbing again she keep thanking me non stop I reassured her that I will get her sister power armor back but i need her help for this job.
Chiaki quickly agree together we heading towards the abandoned warehouse meanwhile someone watches them from afar
" Target has been located should we capture him" a guy wore black suit with black aviator glasses talking with someone through phone " Negative...your mission is to follow him Mr. Fujiyama need a confirmation about this person whenever he an enemy or not for now your mission is to keep your eyes on him" the woman voice came through end of the line turns out they worked for Hunter association the guy replied affirmative and continue his mission following Leo.
Meanwhile in cruise ship Blue team from Swordfish Guild are on board Carlos sat in cafe take a sip of hot Cappuccino as he enjoyed the sea breeze. Just he about enjoyed his alone time suddenly Caitlyn came in and sit in front of him Carlos just shake his head " so captain.....I guess we own our life to a stranger huh?" Caitlyn speak with normal tone but with mix emotions Carlos just nodded while sipping his cappuccino " you should asked him to join our Guild he probably agree with it" Caitlyn once again speak this time her tone sound with disappointed.
" It's not my place to asked him if he's agreed to join us he already asked us from beginning that person help us and never asked something in return he even give us high tier potions that's more enough for me now you....after what did for us you just want to recruit him have you had no shame Caitlyn" Carlos speak with gentle voice with serious emotions that make Caitlyn eat her words his words more like a warning to her after finishing his cappuccino Carlos left the cafe leaving Caitlyn alone at the table he continues walking around the deck then he suddenly remembered something " I forgot to asked his name..." Carlos rubbing his head as he forgot to ask Leo his name.
Leo and Chiaki has arrived at The trio hideout the place looks really rundown compared to other sections only this was abandoned I told Chiaki to hide somewhere while I went inside to find the power armor. She just nodded and went to nearest food stall for hide I quickly my move jumped through the wall and I'm in by activating scan skill I located the power armor with swift skill I head to the location but something caught my eyes.
There was group of people gathering inside of the warehouse I slowly take a peek inside a man standing in the middle of altar and people circling around him began chanting a word I can't even describe it probably some ancient languages.
" Bring the sacrifices!!!!" The guy in the middle shout one of the guard drags a person Infront of him a male probably around thirty he's already panic as the guy walk towards him slowly " rejoice today you will be martyr for us and humanity the goddess has already spoken that she will give you her mercy by serving as her servant for eternity" the man slowly drawn a blade and began to swing the male keep begging to let him go as tears came from his eyes "PLEASE!!!!!!.... Don't kill me I had a daughter....I will do anyth-" just he about to finish sentences his head already being separated from his body as blood sprays out from his beheaded neck. The crowd began shouting Bless the Goddess of war while the man called for another sacrifices I never thought Athena followers were doing this just to please her I guessing why Alessia really despise her so much.
After finishing kill three people he called the last sacrifice what I didn't expect it was Chiaki drag by one of muscular man how the world she get caught I told her to wait idiot girl " Great sage I brought you last sacrifice" the muscular man presented Chiaki to the altar. The man walk closer to her as he inspected her body from up to down her petite looks make her looks like high school girl but she's not.
" Get your eyes from me you vulgar!!" Chiaki spoke with angry tone while cover her private parts the man just smirked at her and walk back to the altar " the goddess will be pleased by this" the man suddenly laughed like classic villain movies. He ordered his men to hold her as he prepared to begin Chiaki in other way keep provoking them by calling names and spitting at their face then SLAP!!!! a huge handprint appears at her left cheek " Stupid girl I warn you not to come but never listen but you should be glad you will be reunited with your sister in afterlife" the muscular man spoke with playful tone after slapping her.
Chiaki already being put at the altar as her head facing down showing her back neck he crowd start shouting waiting the man to beheaded her Chiaki knew she might not make it she thought she can help Leo in secret but everything went backfire. Tears slowly came down from her eyes " I'm sorry mom, dad I failed you and sister I am sorry that I can't reclaim your armor back" Chiaki close her eyes as sign she already accepted her death as the blade almost reach her neck suddenly the wall suddenly exploded shocking everyone.
" Who dares disturbed this holy ceremony " the man shouted holding his blade the explosion created huge hole at the wall there a figure appears " you call this holy ceremony you really some nerve asshole" Leo appears with his calm poses standing among the pile of rubbles. Chiaki slowly open her eyes to look and there she saw Leo standing like a saviour she begin sobbing like a child " you... really came.....Mr....". The man ask me like what's my name and why am I here ignoring them I searched for Chiaki among them and there she was tie in the altar .
" I remember you!!..you the guy at the hunter association you were there watching us" the muscular guy shouted with suprise face the Great sage look at me with curious look with calm tone he spoke " stranger I don't Who you are but already disturbed this holy ceremony I suggested you leave us in peace" the Great sage told me but I wasn't unmoved but his warning " I'm here for the girl over there and a power armor you stole from her" my reason here because I'm came to save Chiaki and retrieve her sister power armor but the I look this isn't going to be easy.
" Lies!!!!...I didn't steal it she give it to us the armor belong to ours" the muscular tries to justify his actions " his lying you trick me and force me to give my sister power armor you are nothing but a crook " Chiaki respond with angry tone.
The Great sage gesture his men to surround me one of them pull a weapon out and pointed at me " let me make this clear I given you chance to leave instead you want to disturb our ceremony don't blame me for this stranger" He order one of his guard to attack me.
" We already warn you we are Athena chosen say good bye to life" the guard shout with mockery tone while swing his sword towards me his movements we slow I can dodge it with my close facing monster at Gate was more fun than this. I grabbed his left arm with my right hand while my left hand generated energy I aim my left fist towards his face then launch it with full speed " Phoenix!!! Blast!!!" I shouted as my left fist sinking to his face. They guy was sent flying his body twist backwards for few seconds and fall to the ground the crowd went to silent only gasp of shocked face.
" Chosen of Athena in position remember your training" the Great sage order the rest of his guard forming line and they began chanting spells I can only guess probably second tier spell I stand firm ready for incoming attack. The Great sage began casting spells probably iron skin for enhancing defence " Everyone Now!!!!....Fireball!!" The guard casting fireball spell some casting spark, Stone bullet, and Lighting bolt these were tier 1 spell I expect more.
The attack cause explosion the Great sage smile as sign of victory along with his guards Chiaki face fill with sad emotions as she witnesses that attack. But that will change as soon the smoke are clear their face fill with unbelievable looks when they saw me still standing with no scratches. Seriously tier 1 spell I thought they stronger the Grand sage face suddenly went in panic he never thought a person Infront of him can withstand his men's attack " who's is this person there's no scratches around his body did he used nullify spell but still I'm not impressed" Great sage smirking he quickly ordered his men to cast another spell attack just they about to do a lighting strike towards Thier position sent them flying back.
This time the great sage was full of shocked in his face cold sweats washed down his head " that's....fourth tier spell how I the world did he....no that's impossible I still have my trump card I guess it's time unleashed it" great sage still won't admit defeat he stomping the ground and magic circle suddenly form he lift both of his hands and began casting a spell " see this boy this why I'm the Athena chosen one she blessing me with her power for me to defeat you and she requires new blood for sacrifices" Great sage began to look at his helpless guards and followers.
The Great sage continues his chanting spells this time long tentacles emerge from the ground and began targeting one of helpless follower wrapping around him the man screaming to death as the tentacles absorb all his life force and only bones and husk remains. The remaining followers who witnessed that horrific act from his master began running away but non of them managed to escape as the tentacles grabbing them in second before they can act the Great sage laughing like a madman as he receives a lot of mana his body slowly began to transforming I noticed one of the tentacles targeting Chiaki I quickly block the tentacles before it's reaching her.
" Are you okay?" I quickly break the chains that tied her up after breaking up the chains I told Chiaki to hide while I'm dealing with that mad sage. I focus back the sage and his transformation already finished I was surprised for he becomes the once thin guy now tall and bulky his face also changed from middle age man into twisted kind of creature with grotesque physics body.
" You one ugly motherfucker " i spoke with mocking tone watching that mad sage final form the mad sage began swinging his left arm towards me I tried blocked with my right shoulder but his force strength was too powerful sent me backwards few meters " puny human now you see why I'm the chosen one" the mad sage sneering as his right hand for another attack this time I managed to blocked it using iron wall skill within seconds I jumped towards him and strike with Phoenix Blast attack the mad sage losing his balance using Lighting strike I aimed to his eyes the sage went blind for awhile.
The mad sage began screaming in pain I need to finish him fast I remember back when I was trapped in gate I obtained unique skill from a skill I wish I never used it but in this situation I had to do it. The mad sage began came back to his sense with angry face he search around for me " puny human blinding my eyes doesn't effect me I'll make sure to repay you hundreds times" he's sneered at me while tries to perform his next attack but everything changed when he noticed something different.
The mad sage body suddenly shaken as fear consuming him " impossible h-h-how human like you possessed this terrifying power " he slowly walk backwards as my hands creating small black void my left hand went inside to pull something with full focus a black sword appeared from the void slowly pull by left hand from hilt to tip was colour in black. After finishing pulling a black flame emerged creating terrifying aura I never I'll see this weapon again I hold the blade with both of my hands without hesitation I running towards The mad sage as he screamed in agony I swinging the blade from up to down fast like a lightning. After finishing I stand Infront of mad sage again with calm eyes I spoke " you'll pay for your crimes may this flame burn you into ashes" the mad sage just stand silently he saw what I did as the blade swinging he doesn't feel any pain he thought for moment he assumed I just tricked him with fake black flame to scared.
" Mwhahahaha!!!!!!....puny humans you think you can trick me with this cheap flame you can't kill me I'm Athena chosen her champion how can mere hu-.." just he about to finish his sentence suddenly his body splits in two from his head to his thighs then black fire burst out burning his remain into ashes.
" Unique skill...Blackfyre as eternal flame burn you to body and soul till ashes remain" I watch the mad Sage body burn till only ashes remain Chiaki who seen the event was terrified but glad " what a terrifying power" she whispers. Suddenly the system chime in CONGRATULATIONS YOU ELIMINATED ATHENA PRIEST GODDESS WAS PLEASED BY YOUR ACTION PLEASE RECEIVE YOUR REWARD. I quickly press yes button I got huge amount of experience points even my dragon soul was increase plus I got weapon a dagger known as Bane of Athena.
After that me and Chiaki look for her sister power armor what suprise me the armor was kept inside a key card which easy to carry according to Chiaki once she saw her sister press the key card at her chest and automatically suit her up like TV super hero who can transform using item like belt or phone.
