Akame ga Kill: Starting with Dual Kamui

Chapter 19: Chapter 19: A Fierce Side

"You're using such a heavy greatsword as your weapon? Looks like you've got some serious strength," Blayn remarked.

"It's not too bad! I've been training in martial arts since I was a kid, but I'm still nowhere near Vice Captain Blayn's level," Seryu replied with a cheerful laugh.

She strapped the greatsword onto her back with ease, moving as if it weighed nothing.

Before they began their mission, Blayn made sure to allocate his points.

[System Points: 24]

These were all accumulated from his previous hunts of Danger Beasts.

[Ding! Host has exchanged "Constitution +14," deducting 14 System Points!]

[Ding! Host has exchanged "Strength +5," deducting 5 System Points!]

[Ding! Host has exchanged "Agility +5," deducting 5 System Points!]

As always, Blayn prioritized Constitution in his stat distribution.

Final Attributes:

Constitution: 40

Strength: 27

Agility: 27

In terms of raw physical ability—setting aside the Double Kamui dōjutsu—Blayn still had a long way to go.

He had come to realize that the people in this world possessed an incredibly high physical potential. Esdeath was an obvious example, but even Seryu's raw physicality surpassed what was considered the human limit in his previous world.

Ordinary people were weak, but the strong were truly strong.

After asking around, Blayn quickly learned the location of Aria's family estate.

Wearing the breastplate and shoulder guards of the Imperial Capital Security Force, he and Seryu were immediately recognized as enforcers.

Some passersby eagerly approached to curry favor, likely conditioned by frequent extortion—hoping a bit of flattery might make the officers go easy on them.

Blayn, of course, ignored them.

Upon arriving at their destination, they found themselves in front of a grand and luxurious mansion.

It stood in stark contrast to the common buildings that lined the streets.

"This noble's wealth is even more ridiculous than I expected," Blayn murmured.

"Wow, it's huge!" Seryu gasped in amazement.

"This is the power of the aristocracy. No wonder Ogre was so eager to protect them," Blayn said indifferently.

Seryu, however, was too eager to enact "justice" to wait any longer. Without hesitation, she stepped forward and smashed open the gate with a single powerful swing of her sword.

"Imperial Capital Security Force—Seryu Ubiquitous!" she bellowed at the entrance. "In the name of justice, I hereby condemn you, evildoers!"

Her dramatic entrance immediately sent the entire mansion into chaos, and the noble's hired guards rushed out in full force.

Blayn noticed something alarming—Seryu's once cheerful and innocent expression had twisted into something feral.

The contrast between her usual demeanor and the sheer bloodlust in her gaze was staggering, as if she had become an entirely different person.

Blayn could feel the killing intent radiating from her—it was unsettling.

I had a feeling she wasn't as simple as she seemed… he thought. This world really is something else.

"The Imperial Capital Security Force?!"

The guards halted in shock upon recognizing the uniforms of Blayn and Seryu.

"Go warn the master!" one of them shouted.

They immediately assumed this was about their "protection fees."

But Seryu had no intention of waiting—gripping her greatsword tightly, she lunged at them with incredible speed.

Despite often being the target of ridicule from her colleagues, Seryu only revealed this ruthless side of herself when she believed she was carrying out "justice."

Even now, among the Imperial Capital Security Force, the only people stronger than her were Ogre and Blayn.

Just before she struck, Blayn called out, "Hold it."

Seryu immediately halted.

Even in her frenzied state, she was still obedient when it came to Vice Captain Blayn's commands.

She turned to him, confused.

Blayn stepped up beside her and gently placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Before we've confirmed the full situation, don't be so hasty."

"But..."

Seryu hesitated—her instincts screamed that evil should be executed immediately. But Blayn had a point.

Lowering her head, she relented, "Understood..."

The guards visibly relaxed.

For a moment, they genuinely believed this girl was about to butcher them on the spot.

It wasn't a matter of whether they could fight back—the issue was that no one wanted to cross the Imperial Capital Security Force. The consequences would be dire.

Soon, Aria's father arrived, accompanied by Aria and her mother.

Aria's father had the appearance of a kindly gentleman, and her mother was a refined beauty with a warm, gentle demeanor.

At a glance, they looked like an ordinary, affluent noble family.

It was hard to imagine them as murderous psychopaths.

But based on what Blayn had learned, there was little doubt that they were exactly that.

"Blayn? What brings you here?" Aria asked, immediately recognizing him.

"Aria, do you know that gentleman?" her mother asked curiously.

"Yes, we met not long ago," Aria replied.

Aria's father took a step forward and addressed them with a polite smile.

"May I ask what brings you two here today? If it's about the protection fee, we'll pay it right away."

"Protection fee?" Blayn raised an eyebrow. "So you're admitting your crimes?"

Seryu's expression immediately darkened.

"Vice Captain Blayn, can I execute them now?" she asked eagerly.

"Not yet."

Blayn flicked her forehead with a light hand chop.

"Ugh...!"

The impact snapped Seryu out of her murderous trance, and her expression returned to normal.

Blayn had stopped her because he knew she was likely to kill them on the spot.

For now, the bigger priority was locating any surviving victims.

According to his intel, there were many, and they were still being held captive somewhere.

Aria and her mother's faces paled with fear—the orange-haired girl beside Blayn had looked ready to slaughter them where they stood.

Blayn, however, didn't waste any more time on pleasantries.

"Based on your actions, you are under arrest," he stated flatly. "Now, take me to the victims."

"W-what victims? I don't understand what you're talking about..."

Aria's father visibly broke into a cold sweat, his eyes darting nervously.

His guilty reaction betrayed him immediately.

Seeing the criminals still trying to lie their way out, Seryu's fingers tightened around her sword hilt.

She was itching to execute them on the spot.

But she couldn't disobey Vice Captain Blayn's orders.
