Chapter 70: Asking for helping
"Help us! Please open the door!"
"Is anyone inside?"
Lord Godric was sleeping in his bed, and his fluffy blanket reached over to his neck. He tried to ignore the noise but as the ruckus grew louder and louder he had no choice but to sit up straight.
He pushed the arms of the woman sleeping next to him and then picked up the robe lying on the floor. Pulling it up on his shoulders, he walked over to the door of his room and pushed it open.
"What's going on?" He asked Gina who was standing in the hall of the guild. "Whats with this loud ruckus, you know that I don't like it, Gina."
"I didn't allow such a thing to happen, Master Godric," Gina spoke in a soft voice. She glanced at the two people kneeling in front of her and said to Master Godric, "These two came here and demanded to see, Lord Damien. I told them that he is not here, but they refuse to leave."
Master Godric glanced down at the dog beastman, with his hand outstretched he took the smoke pipe that was handed to him almost immediately.
Placing it in between his lips he said to the dog beastman, "Just what do you think you are doing?"
"I beg of you," said the dog beastman with his forehead placed on the floor. "I beg of you to save, Sigurd. I, Adikus, swear that I will repay this gratitude even if it costs my life."
"Me too," Martha trembled as she lowered her head and almost placed it in front of Master Godric's feet. "I will do anything, no matter what you ask for, Master Godric. But please let us see, Lord Damien."
Master Godric released a cloud of pearly white fumes while looking down at the two people kneeling in front of him.
"You sure say a lot of bold words for someone who has nothing but their lives to offer," Master Godric remarked causing the two to flinch.
"Master Godric…"
"Get up," Master Godric said as he turned around on his feet. "I will send someone to call for Damien, till then I will leave your friend in the care of another healer."
Adikus raised his head and looked at Master Godric with a grateful expression. "Thank you! Thank you very much!"
Master Godric simply waved his hand as he walked inside the room without looking back. Once he was gone, Gina turned and glanced at the woman and man in front of her.
She did not understand why Master Godric accepted these two when he knew what they were and from where they came from.
However, she suppressed the questions that she had in her heart and turned to look at the lanky and tall man peering out of the pillar. "Dash, go and bring Damien."
"Ah? Do I have to?" Dash asked with a slight frown on his face. "I mean —can't you wait? I am feeling a tad bit sleepy." He did not wish to disturb his schedule for a low-ranking beastmen.
"Dash," Gina called him sternly, causing Dash to roll his eyes as he threw his hands behind his back. "Alright, alright! I got it."
He glared at Adikus and Martha for ruining his night causing the two to flinch and look down.
"There is no need for you to feel awkward," Gina said placatingly. With her charming smile, she looked at the two and said to them, "Come with me. I will take you to the other healer of the guild. Let's see if he can help your friend?"
Adikus nodded, looking relieved. Though he knew that the healers connected to a guild would hardly help anyone other than the guild members, this healer was bound to help Sigurd if the master of his guild Master Godric was to ask, right?
Feeling a bit more hopeful, he carried Sigurd to the infirmary.
"Azriel? Azriel?" Gina knocked on the door of the infirmary which was closed. "Azriel are you inside?"
However, even after knocking three times in a row, the man inside the dormitory did not open the door.
"Is he outside?" Adikus asked.
"No, he is very much inside," Gina responded with a smile which wasn't any less than that of a devil. She sighed and said, "Azriel, I will give you three seconds if I don't see you opening the door then don't blame me for being rude."
Adikus glanced at the beautiful woman and sighed. He was certain that her threat was not going to work, after all, how could a man be scared of a woman as dainty as her?
"One."
"Two.."
And even before she could count to three, Adikus watched Gina raise her skirt just a little and kick the door with an elegant smile on her face.
BANG!
What the fuck— Adikus looked at the door which was lying on the floor. Looked like —this beautiful woman was not as dainty as he thought.
Gina on the other hand looked rather unperturbed before turning to look at the man who was standing in the middle of the infirmary like a deer caught in headlights.
"Ah," Gina tilted her head to one side with a dark side. "What were you so busy with Azriel that you couldn't even open the door to check up on a patient?"
