AGE OF SHADOWS (war at dawn)

"I've been waiting to see you", the vain on Hayate's face became visible as he glare dagger at the boys.

"(Now he's acting as if he's going to jump us)", Sora furrow his eyes.

"(The aura around him is... Just too intense... My body just keeps shaking and I can't stop it... Why does it always have to be like this, even when I'm in a mission, my body keeps trembling when ever a demon shows up... Why? Why? Am I cursed or something?)", Shinra close his eyes as his body continues shaking.

" The both of you attacked a kōjin, the most respected and honorable kōjin, your punishment will be spectacular ", Hayate clap his hand," now, do you have anyone to say? ".

"Are we supposed to say anything?", Sora ask boldly with a lazy look.

*Hm* "for your punishment, you will be taking around the whole village, you will be flogged and the villagers will stone you, if you manage to survive then you will live with the embarrassment all your life ", Hayate said *oh* " and you will be completely naked ".

*Ugh* Shinra's eyes widen in horror.

" That's insane ", Sora was shocked.

" Why would you do such horrible thing? ", Kaguya said with her hands on her chest, her eyes were closed.

" That's because they call it punishment ", Hayate informed.

" But that's.... What kind of crime did we commit to deserve such a punishment ", Shinra ask.

" You dare ask me? ", Hayate gave Shinra a cold glance, Shinra swallow on his spit and sweat run down his face.

" This is ridiculous, I am out of here, I don't have time for such a joke like you", Shinokaze scoffed and started walking away.

*Tch* "(damn that kid)", Hayate grit his teeth.

"(Is he really walking away?)", Sora blink.

" Lord Shinokaze ", Kaguya whispered, Shinra was just watching without being able to open his mouth.

" Hey brat, now I see why you can't use shinsei, disgraceful", Hayate said and Shinokaze hit stop.

*Ugh* both Kaguya and Sora gasp in disbelief, "now way", Sora said almost in a whisper.

Shinra adjust from his position and whispered into Sora's ear, "hey Sora, what's this shinsei they are talking about?".

"You don't know what a shinsei is? Are you even a ninja?", Sora questioned.

"Are you going to tell me or not?", Shinra frown at the brown head boy.

*Hmm* "shinsei is a divine energy, this divine energy is possessed only by lord Sennin and his heir, it is said that those with shinsei are like a god when in battle, their abilities are unrivaled", Sora explain.

*Wow* "so it's just like reiketsu then", Shinra said.

"Ten times far above reiketsu", Sora said.

"Wha....t, that's too much ", Shinra held his hands on his head in amazement.

Shinokaze clenched his fist," what did you just say? ".

*Oh* " you heard me right, brat", Hayate said without a card in the world," you are such a disgrace to lord Sennin, I doubt that you don't even know how to weld your reiketsu in the right way, shameful ", *hahaha* Hayate burst out laughing.

" (What is this guy up to? I just can't place it, I can't tell what is motives are, but I can tell he's up to something, and I don't think it's a good one)", Sora frown.

Shinokaze was now shaking out of rage, "you damn bastard!", Shinokaze spun around and launched after Hayate.

"Hey! He's going to fight", Shinra point at Shinokaze.

"(What does he think he's doing attacking a kōjin, he may be lord Sennin's heir, but this guy, i can tell that he has mastered reiketsu to it full extent just by glancing at him, or else he won't be a kōjin)", sora was keeping a close eyes on them.

"I am going to make you regret saying those words", Shinokaze attacked with his palm.

*Hm* Kaguya close her eyes and look away, Shinokaze's attacked sent Hayate flying into the forest.

*Ah!!!!!!!!!!!!* "What the hell!!", Shinra was taking by surprise.

"No way, how did he?", Sora's mouth was widely ajar.

"Such a waste of time",*hm* Shinokaze scoffed, "now, time to...".

"You sure attack like a old hag... Shinokaze Hoshino", Hayate was standing behind the blue haired boy, he was staring at the sky.

*Ah!!!* "He's back", Shinra point while freaking out.

"(This guy, he was only messing with Shinokaze)", Sora's eyes harden.

"But, lord Shinokaze hit you really hard, his attack was supposed to leave you numb for a while but here you are, I don't understand", Kaguya said.

"Yes, you are right, his attack came pretty tough, but even a jōnin wouldn't be fazed by that, let alone a kōjin, and I wasn't hit though, I pulled a log right in front of myself and walk away, so what he hit was a log, not me, gloomy right?", Hayate grin.

" That's pretty cool ", Shinra grin as well.

" Yeah", Hayate gave a thumb up," but you will still face your punishment", Hayate ruining Shinra's mood.

" (I can't believe I was fooled by him, damn)", *tch* Shinokaze was at rage," you damn bastard, i am going to break you ", Shinokaze threw a back kick but Hayate evade the kick with ease," it's not over yet", Shinokaze started trowing kicks and punches with his palm yet Hayate continue dodging the attacks with ease.

"Geez Shinokaze is nailing it", Shinra was enjoying the show.

"No matter how talented he is, this kōjin is by far stronger than him", Sora point out.

"Don't you think fighting will worsen Shinokaze's punishment? ", Kaguya ask.

" I don't really know, but the way this kōjin judge issue, Shinokaze is in for the worse", Sora answer.

" I don't know if I will be able to survive after such a punishment, it's horrifying ", Kaguya said with her voice that sounds timid.

"Geez, can you guys not remind me of the punishment, I feel like going off", Shinra pull on his hair.

Shinokaze strike yet Hayate dodge and nailed his knee on Shinokaze's stomach *kahh* Shinokaze cough out some amount of blood and his eyes roll to the back of his head.

*Ugh* Shinra gasp in total disbelief, Sora and Kaguya where also taken by surprise, they did not expect something like that to happen, Hayate then started punching Shinokaze.

"You little brat, just because you are lord Sennin son doesn't give you the right to act like a god, you are only a low life bastard", Hayate continue smashing Shinokaze like a punching bag.

"(This is insane, he is the son of lord Sennin, yet ...)", Sora's eyes were shaking.

"(This guy is a monster, he's just... He's just...)", *ah* "(I don't think this guy is a human with a heart)", Shinra was shaking like hell.

*Oooh* Shinokaze cried in pain as he was being beaten by the scar kōjin, Kaguya was watching with her whole body paralyzed by fear, Shinra on the other hand was sweating.

"(If this guy can beat up the son of lord Sennin like a criminal, then what about us?)", Shinra wondered.

" Shinra... Shinra... Shinra can't you hear me? ", Sora raised his voice a bit.

*Huh* " Sora, wha... What? ", Shinra ask.

" Are we going to just sit back and watch? This is disrespectful, judging from what Shinokaze did he really might be a pain in the ass, but, are were going to sit back and watch him get whooped around like that? ", Sora ask.

" What are we supposed to do, don't think I will want to get in the way of that freak ok? ", Shinra back away.

" I really want to defend him as well, but this guy is way to monstrous to handle ", Kaguya said.

" It doesn't matter what he is, we can't just sit here and do nothing, we have to stop this now ", Sora stood up.

" What!? Are you crazy?", Shinra yelled at Sora.

" We have done it before, what stop us from doing it again? ", Sora ask the white haired boy.

" That was... ", Shinra became lost of words.

Sora pulled out a kunai and prepared himself to attack," you two, follow behind me, no matter what stay close to me, got it? ".

*Um* Kaguya stared at him for some seconds before she looked over to Shinokaze and Hayate," understood ", she nod.

" Are you guys an idiot, going after a maniac like that is suicide ", Shinra spread out his hands in exaggeration.

" Now! ", Sora dash off and Kaguya followed behind.

" Hey! Wait up!", Shinra stretch his hand," (damn, they left without me)".

Hayate caught Shinokaze's strike and smashed Shinokaze's head on the ground, he pulled Shinokaze off the ground and ready his fist to punch the blue haired boy.

"Ninja art!", Hayate stop his attack midway as he instantly let go of Shinokaze, he leap away from the Hoshino as something harsh hit the ground almost causing an earthquake, the area was now covered in dust.

*Wow* "Sora ", Shinra said in a whisper as he stares in amazement.

"Well well, who expects a brat like you to pull such trick off, not bad, I am so going to enjoy the show", Hayate smirk.
