After Time Traveling, I was Forced to Marry a Wealthy Family

Chapter 33

Mu Ci couldn’t help but secretly turn his head to glance at Gu Huai. The car’s interior was very dark, and as he stole a glance, all he could discern was the sharp-edged profile of the other person—the firm outline and tight corners of his mouth, as heavy as a mountain.

However, the hand tightly squeezing his shoulder exuded a sinister anger, causing him pain.

Gu Huai must be angry. Part of his anger stems from embarrassment and uncontrollable rage. The external environment must be very unfamiliar to Mu Ci. Gu Huai could hardly believe that he would decisively leave the Gu family, the ones who supported him, and rush outside without hesitation.

Would he truly prefer to suffer and be tired outside rather than stay with him? Even with all the tolerance and care?

Gu Huai stared straight ahead, making the driver nervous, and his hand holding the steering wheel trembled slightly.

For a moment, Gu Huai entertained a dark thought. Perhaps he should let this ungrateful person suffer some pain outside. Only when he was eaten alive by all kinds of bad guys and bullied to the edge of death that he would realize, Gu Huai was the one who truly cares about him and a good person.

This thought was so clear and sinister that Gu Huai even contemplated asking someone to stop the car and push Mu Ci out. However, at that moment, Mu Ci struggled restlessly, and Gu Huai immediately held him down forcefully, saying, “Don’t move!”

Mu Ci’s body froze. He was in pain from being grabbed by Gu Huai but dared not speak.

The car fell silent and depressing, with only the sound of breathing slowly accompanying the roar of the vehicle.

.

Finally, the car stopped in front of the Gu family’s mansion. Gu Huai effortlessly dragged Mu Ci in like a child and threw him onto the large bed in the bedroom.

Gu Huai locked the door, and the click resonated with Mu Ci’s nerves. At this moment, Gu Huai’s anger fully exploded.

“Tell me, when did you first want to run away?”

Mu Ci turned his head and sat on the edge of the bed, holding the sheets tightly with his fingers and remaining silent.

Gu Huai swept everything on the table to the ground. Vases, photo frames, etc., all fell and shattered into pieces!

“Speak!” Gu Huai strode forward, grabbed Mu Ci by the collar, and lifted him up. His eyes were wild, his expression almost ferocious, and veins protruded on the back of his hands.

Mu Ci was so uncomfortable that he couldn’t help coughing twice and weakly pushed Gu Huai’s hand. In a vulnerable situation, his eyes were as cold as ice. “From the beginning… I had no intention of staying.”

Gu Huai was stunned for a moment, then became even angrier. His eyes were almost red with anger. He threw Mu Ci onto the bed, pressed him roughly, and pulled down his pants, all while Mu Ci panicked and shouted, “Stop! What else you want to do! Don’t touch me!”

Gu Huai gritted his teeth and sneered, “What else? I want do this!”

He folded Mu Ci’s belt twice, took it in his hand, and whipped Mu Ci’s bare buttocks forcefully.

Mu Ci never anticipated that Gu Huai would resort to this, immediately screaming in pain. Pinned down on the bed at the age of twenty-three, he was spanked by another man, someone completely unrelated to him. Anger surged, and he struggled fiercely.

Gu Huai failed to restrain him for a moment, receiving a punch that bruised the side of his face. Annoyed, Gu Huai held down his lower back with one hand and continued spanking with the belt in the other.

“You dare to fight with me?! If I don’t teach you a lesson, you’ll be in trouble! Do you know who is in charge in this family?! You still dare to run? I’ll break your legs next time!”

“Ugh!” Mu Ci was in extreme pain, moans escaping his clenched lips, and his buttocks red and swollen.

Angry, hurt, and humiliated, he wanted to retaliate. Remembering the hidden folding knife in his sleeve, he endured the pain, took it out, and swung it at Gu Huai without hesitation.

The blade flashed, and Gu Huai stepped back quickly. Mu Ci, seizing the opportunity, got up and staggered out of bed. Without even lifting his pants, he rushed to confront Gu Huai, determined to draw blood.

Gu Huai, reluctant to engage in a serious fight, pushed him back. Tripping on his pants, Mu Ci became unsteady and fell backward.

Gu Huai attempted to grab him, but Mu Ci, in his struggle, scratched the back of Gu Huai’s hand with his fingers. Watching as Mu Ci collided with the table, the impact was severe, and amid the sharp sound of the table legs rubbing together, Mu Ci’s vision dimmed.

Unable to stand, Mu Ci slid down the table, in intense pain, breathing heavily, chest hurting.

Gu Huai’s anger vanished instantly as he rushed to pick up Mu Ci, anxiously asking, “Are you okay?! Where did you hit? Let me see!”

Mu Ci breathed rapidly, weakly glancing at Gu Huai, then suddenly turned around and began coughing violently. The coughs were so heavy that his thin body trembled, and he felt like he was about to faint.

Frightened, Gu Huai reached for his phone along his back, “Don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid, I’ll call the doctor right now.”

He struggled to dial the number and called Jiang Wenjing, almost shouting, “Come here quickly! Now!”

Mu Ci pushed him away, wanting to distance himself from Gu Huai. He took a few steps back with difficulty, then laid on the ground, vomiting a mouthful of blood. His mind grew dizzy, consciousness slipping away within seconds.

.

He felt he hadn’t slept long, as if just a moment had passed before regaining consciousness.

Mu Ci frowned, attempting to open his eyes but lacking the strength. A scent of disinfectant lingered in the air, unfamiliar to the Gu family’s usual surroundings.

There were indistinct voices in the distance, a cacophony that added to the pain coursing through Mu Ci’s body. After a considerable effort, he managed to summon some strength into his paralyzed body, opened his eyes, and tilted his head.

Sunlight streamed brightly through the window—daytime already? How long had he been unconscious?

The voices became clearer in his ears. Mu Ci followed the sound and noticed a glass door in the room, separating it from another where Gu Huai conversed with Dr. Jiang.

Jiang Wenjing, holding an X-ray film, examined it with a frown. “The ribs are broken inward, and there’s internal organ damage, explaining the blood vomit… Young Master Gu, forgive me for being blunt, but do you truly want his life?”

Gu Huai’s expression darkened. “Am I willing to let him die? I was so angry at the time that I pushed him. Who would have thought…”

Jiang Wenjing shot him a disdainful look. She had witnessed Gu Huai’s temper before – once angered, he showed no restraint. Granted, in his position, he had the authority to be angry. Yet, how could he be so harsh toward his fiancé?

Jiang Wenjing sighed, pointing to a specific spot on the X-ray film. “If it were just a bump, it wouldn’t have led to a broken bone. But he already had old injuries here, contusions caused by metal tools. It seems like a past incident. Medical treatment in ancient times was primitive, and his injury hadn’t fully healed. The impact on the table exacerbated the condition.”

“Old injuries?” Gu Huai was taken aback. “How does he have old injuries on his body? He’s a prince and should be well-protected. Who dares to harm him?”

“You might want to ponder that yourself,” Jiang Wenjing remarked. “Doctors are only responsible for saving lives and treating injuries; we don’t delve into your family affairs.”

Gu Huai: “…”
