Chapter 4: How Can a Husband and Wife Live Together?:
At around 2:20, after Lin Ruowei parked the car at the entrance of the Civil Affairs Office, she and Ye Fan got out and walked hand in hand toward the building.
As they stepped onto the stone steps in front of the entrance, they noticed the previously closed door of the office slowly open.
“It’s better to come early than to miss the chance.” Lin Ruowei said.
They exchanged smiles and entered the Civil Affairs Office. Finding the window for marriage registration, the two approached, and everything went smoothly.
In less than 15 minutes, they both held a small red marriage certificate in their hands.
From the moment the official seal was stamped, their fates were bound together.
“I wish you both happiness and a long life together,” the staff member said, congratulating them.
“Thank you,” Ye Fan replied with gratitude.
Lin Ruowei, smiling, took some wedding candies from her bag and offered them to the staff member. “Thank you for the blessing. We will definitely grow old together.”
With the marriage certificates in hand, the two walked out of the building.
“Wow, you even brought wedding candies, Sister Weiwei. You were really prepared.” Ye Fan said with a grin.
“Of course! This is a once-in-a-lifetime event,” Lin Ruowei replied proudly.
As they stepped out of the Civil Affairs Office, a sudden notification echoed in Ye Fan’s mind.
[Ding! The God-Level Future Sign-in System is now binding to the host… 1%… 14%… 45%… 78%… 99%…]
[Ding! Binding successful!]
Suppressing his excitement, Ye Fan mentally communicated with the system, “System, introduce yourself.”
[Hello, host. I am the God-Level Future Sign-in System. As long as you sign in every day for seven consecutive days, you will receive a letter from your future self!]
“A letter from my future self? This system is quite unique.” Ye Fan thought, curious about what his future self would write to him.
[Ding! The novice gift package has been successfully issued!]
“Ah, there’s always a novice gift package,” Ye Fan thought, feeling amused.
“Ye Fan, what are you thinking so deeply about?” Lin Ruowei’s voice snapped him back to reality.
“It’s nothing,” he replied, “I just didn’t expect to be getting the certificate with you today instead of Xiaoxue. Life really has its surprises.”
They both got into the car, continuing their conversation. As Ye Fan reached to fasten his seatbelt, Lin Ruowei, sitting in the driver’s seat, suddenly leaned over and kissed him. The cold sensation on his lips made Ye Fan’s eyes widen in surprise.
After a moment, Lin Ruowei sat back in her seat, a satisfied look on her face. Ye Fan touched his lips, still in shock.
“I can kiss you whenever I want now—we’re legally married,” she said with a mischievous smile. “I’ve been waiting for this moment for so long!”
Despite her confident tone, her blushing face betrayed her embarrassment.
“Wow, I never imagined you’d be this bold, Sister Weiwei,” Ye Fan teased.
“I can’t believe you’re still calling me ‘Sister Weiwei.’ We’re married now!” she replied, wrinkling her nose in mock displeasure.
“Wife~” Ye Fan deliberately exaggerated the word, making it sound playful.
“Ugh, that’s so cheesy! You’re giving me goosebumps,” Lin Ruowei said, shivering dramatically.
She pulled out a tissue from her bag and handed it to Ye Fan. “Here, wipe off the lipstick.”
“Thank you, Wife.Ye Fan said, accepting the tissue with a grin.
Lin Ruowei’s face turned even redder at the word “wife,” but the joy in her expression was unmistakable. She quickly reapplied her lipstick using a small mirror before starting the car and driving away from the Civil Affairs Office.
“Weiwei, where are we going now?” Ye Fan asked, using her nickname instead of the usual “Sister Weiwei.”
Hearing the change in how he addressed her, Lin Ruowei smiled warmly. In a relationship, it’s common to use each other’s names or nicknames instead of formal titles. This small shift from “Sister Weiwei” to “Weiwei” made her feel even closer to him.
“We’re going to my place first. I’ll pack my things, and then I’ll move in with you,” she replied.
“Wait, you’re moving in with me?” Ye Fan asked, his tone full of surprise.
“Of course! We’re married now, so naturally, we should live together.” Lin Ruowei said seriously, glancing at him as she drove.
