Chapter 38
They didn’t know how they moved from the foyer to the bedroom. Jiang Shiyu was pressed down onto the soft bed by Shen Li, his body sinking in, but his head tilted back, willingly accepting the other’s advances.
Shen Li was fierce, his kisses intense, and his actions rough. Yet, Jiang Shiyu found pleasure in this sensation. The person on top seemed to be afraid he might run away at any moment, treating him harshly, warning him about forgetting things said or done, with terrifying consequences.
The feeling of being so intensely desired and valued made Jiang Shiyu succumb.
His coat was left on the floor by the door. He wore only a thin white T-shirt. Shen Li’s warm hands slowly lifted the edge, moving inch by inch from his flat abdomen upwards.
In his fragmented memories, there were intimate moments with Jiang Shiyu. The pure yet seductive figure seemed like an angel in hell, beckoning and making one submit at their feet.
Jiang Shiyu’s body was so delicate. Being kissed made his head spin. Lying beneath Shen Li, he whimpered with a hint of tears, saying he felt uncomfortable.
“Where do you feel uncomfortable?” Shen Li, like a devil tempting an angel to fall, whispered in his ear.
Jiang Shiyu’s half-open eyes were full of moisture, his eyes misty and the corners reddened.
He groaned without answering. Shen Li thought he was being coy, finding him adorable and wanting to devour him right there.
“Tell me, and I’ll help you.” He continued to coax.
Jiang Shiyu arched his back, the delicate, white curve of his waist could be held with one hand. Shen Li looked down.
His waist was bent like a bow. When Shen Li lowered his head, he could see the short hair and the skin under his ribs pressed against him. The tingling sensation spread from his navel.
Indeed, in some matters, men were instinctively skilled. Although Shen Li had lost his previous memories with Jiang Shiyu, he was proficient at teasing him.
Jiang Shiyu felt as if his stomach was on fire, his insides twisting together. The spot where the umbilical cord had once connected, now seemed to be the focus of Shen Li’s attention, his sharp canines finding a peculiar enjoyment in the area.
His fair skin was flushed red, his eyes gradually losing focus. He weakly lifted a hand, clutching Shen Li’s hair, his fingers entwined.
His body and emotions took a long time to calm down. Shen Li got into bed, holding him close and soothing him with his hand along his long, slender spine.
Gradually, his breathing became less rapid. His head rested on Shen Li’s shoulder, the familiar scent filling his nose.
They were very close, feeling each other’s warmth. Jiang Shiyu’s soft hand moved slowly from his chest downwards, only to be grasped firmly by Shen Li.
“What are you doing, little rascal?”
Jiang Shiyu’s face was still flushed from the emotional upheaval, his voice soft and delicate, “Don’t you need my help?”
“Do you?” Shen Li raised an eyebrow.
Jiang Shiyu puffed out his chest proudly, “You used to praise me for doing well.”
Shen Li lowered his head and chuckled softly into his hair.
“So does this count as planting a tree for future generations to enjoy?”
Jiang Shiyu replied teasingly, “Do you want it or not?”
Shen Li took his slightly cold hand and, after a few seconds, a comfortable sigh escaped from Jiang Shiyu’s lips.
In a loving relationship, Jiang Shiyu didn’t reject intimacy. He was a person who needed firm embraces or close connections to feel loved and possessed.
Previously, Shen Li was always concerned about his body, being overly attentive during their intimate moments, carefully handling him like a fragile glass doll. Although he was comfortable, it often came at his own expense.
Jiang Shiyu’s straightforward nature regarding emotions and intimacy sometimes frightened him. In moments like this, Jiang Shiyu asked, “Do you want to come in directly?”
Hearing this, he felt he was sent by the heavens to torment him. Yet Jiang Shiyu’s eyes remained innocent, as if what he said was completely normal.
“Jiang Shiyu, be quiet.”
Jiang Shiyu pouted and withdrew his hand, “You’re being mean to me.”
Shen Li’s forehead twitched. The interruption at a critical moment was driving him mad.
However, faced with the pouting little cat, he couldn’t help but speak softly, comforting him with gentle words.
Jiang Shiyu reluctantly placed his hand on his, his demeanor showing reluctant submission, no longer willing to move on his own.
“Humph, I want to help you and you still scold me.”
Shen Li helplessly said, “Be good. There’s nothing here, and rushing in might hurt you. I’m not scolding you, just…” He held his hand.
“It’s like you just let go without considering my feelings, hmm?”
Shen Li bit his ear, pretending to scold him harshly.
Jiang Shiyu shrank back, burying his head in his embrace, unwilling to listen to his excuses.
After a night of exertion and emotional turbulence, Jiang Shiyu, having just recovered from illness, fell asleep in Shen Li’s arms. The blankets tangled around them and they both sweated. Shen Li, holding him close, turned over and fell asleep as well (they didn’t do anything else).
Jiang Shiyu lay in his arms, breathing shallowly. His skin was slightly flushed, and his lips were pouting. His clothes were hiked up, and his pants were hanging loosely around his hips (he was just sleeping).
Shen Li seemed unable to take his eyes off him, propping his head up and gazing at the person in his arms.
When he first woke up in the hospital, he could hardly imagine being with a man, or liking him so deeply. He thought that the previous version of himself, before the memory loss, might have felt the same way.
Even though he had lost those memories, he understood himself. He was not gay, as his sexual orientation had always been normal. Even now, he felt repelled by other men’s advances. His orientation was not straight or gay; it was simply Jiang Shiyu.
The troubling heartache that had plagued him for a long time was finally resolved. Jiang Shiyu was right; no matter the time period, he would still fall for him.
He lowered his head and kissed his forehead.
He noticed that the collar, which had been tugged open during their intimacy, revealed delicate collarbones, with traces of bite marks. He quickly loosened his hold on him, carefully placed him back on the bed, and went to the bathroom.
Half an hour later, he came out with wet hair, having washed up. He moved the dirty blanket aside and took a fresh one from the closet. After leaving, Jiang Shiyu, disturbed by the noise, woke up from a disjointed dream, seeing him walking toward him.
He thought he was dreaming and naturally reached out for an embrace. Shen Li also reached out and held him.
“Awake? Want to wash up before going back to sleep?”
Shen Li’s voice was filled with tenderness.
Jiang Shiyu, instinctively wrapping his arms around his neck and resting his head on his shoulder, murmured something incoherent. Shen Li didn’t catch it and asked him again about washing up.
Jiang Shiyu, seemingly annoyed by the disturbance, turned his head away, showing an impatient back of his head, mumbling not to bother him.
At this point, Shen Li realized he might not have fully woken up and was still dreaming.
Unable to help it, he carried him to the bathroom. As the warm towel was placed on his face, Jiang Shiyu awoke, his gaze vacant, as was his usual state upon waking, especially when still groggy.
“Sit still, I’ll wipe your face.”
Jiang Shiyu, limp and unresponsive, seemed slightly annoyed but still obediently let Shen Li help him.
After dressing him, Shen Li handed him a cup of hot water.
“Brush your teeth and then go back to sleep, okay?”
Shen Li was prepared to brush his teeth for him, but Jiang Shiyu slowly lifted his head from his shoulder, took the water, and began brushing his teeth at the sink.
In the mirror, their reflection appeared strangely harmonious.
Jiang Shiyu was no longer a child needing coaxing, but at this moment, Shen Li wanted to praise him like a kindergarten kid. Fearing that such praise might upset him, he quietly complimented him in his heart.
He forgot the memories of the past, so he didn’t know that Jiang Shiyu was like a kindergarten child—praise made his tail stand up and he would happily nuzzle close.
After washing up, they returned to the bedroom. The relationship had been clarified, and with their feelings still strong, Shen Li didn’t want to spend the night alone. Jiang Shiyu, also very proactive, rolled into his embrace as soon as they got into bed, found a comfortable position, and said goodnight.
As the night deepened, the neon lights faded like stars falling into the clouds, and the bustling city quieted down. The world seemed to be covered with a layer of darkness, gradually coming to an end.
Lying in Shen Li’s arms, Jiang Shiyu, who had been restless before, now found clarity and peace. His fingers wandered restlessly on Shen Li’s arm and waist.
In the next moment, his mischievous hand was enveloped by a warm big hand. Shen Li’s voice came from above.
“Can’t sleep?”
“Hmm, my heartbeat is a bit erratic.”
In fact, Shen Li couldn’t sleep either, his spirits heightened by lying next to the person he liked.
“Then let’s chat?” he suggested.
Jiang Shiyu shifted in his arms, lying on his back, and agreed.
He had things he wanted to say, but when it came time to chat, he seemed to have no thoughts.
After a while, Jiang Shiyu heard him ask, “What did you and Shen Li used to talk about when you were together?”
The missing memories between them were rarely mentioned, like a forbidden topic they both avoided.
“It seems like we didn’t talk much when we were together, but time just flew by.”
“Are you saying that time drags on painfully when you’re with me?”
Jiang Shiyu peeked up at him, teasing, “Hmm.”
“Hmm?” Shen Li pinched his waist, pretending to threaten.
Jiang Shiyu, ticklish, curled up under him.
“Behave.”
Jiang Shiyu’s flushed marks from earlier were still present. After being tickled, his face reddened, and he looked at Shen Li with watery eyes. Shen Li, who had always been soft-hearted, couldn’t resist him.
“Okay, okay, I won’t tease you anymore.” he pinched the soft flesh on the back of his neck and gently patted him.
After calming down, his deep voice, filled with heavy regret, came from above.
“Jiang Shiyu, I owe you an apology.”
Jiang Shiyu stiffened for a moment, looking up at his face. Shen Li covered his eyes with his hand.
Without visual input, Jiang Shiyu’s other senses became more acute.
“Don’t look at me with those eyes; it makes my heart ache.”
“Whether it’s before or after the memory loss, I owe you an apology. The Shen Li before lost his memories, left you alone to face immense pain. The Shen Li after lost his memories said many hurtful things and did many indifferent things. No matter what, Jiang Shiyu, I want to apologize to you. You don’t have to forgive me for the harm I’ve caused. Just keep it in your heart and get revenge on me later.”
In the darkness, where visual and sensory perceptions were heightened, the warmth of Shen Li’s palm covering his eyes made Jiang Shiyu’s eyes itch, almost making him cry.
That night, both slept more soundly than ever. Jiang Shiyu had longed for this familiar, secure embrace in countless dreams, and Shen Li felt a sense of fulfillment, finally understanding the void that had been troubling him for so long.
