After I left, the female CEO was utterly heartbroken.

Chapter 14: The tenderness of Lu Xue

From Lu Han's intuition, it seems highly likely that Lu Xue dislikes Lu Ming.

Unfortunately, this is the Lu family, and at least for now, Lu Han can't fully trust anyone.

Well... his adoptive father could perhaps be considered half trustworthy.

As for Lu Xue, she can enter an observation period for now.

The two chatted and laughed along the way, and before they knew it, the white Porsche Cayenne had pulled into the mall parking lot.

Lu Han noticed the extremely conspicuous VIP sign in the parking area, indicating that Lu Xue, this little heiress, had spent quite a bit here.

Sure enough, as soon as they entered the luxury section, several shop assistants recognized Lu Xue through the glass and rushed out from their respective stores.

"Miss Lu, you're here?"

"Miss Lu, what would you like to buy today?"

"Miss Lu, we just received a new batch of goods. Would you like to take a look?"

These shop assistants were extremely attentive, but they were even more surprised by the man whose arm Lu Xue was holding.

In their memory, not only had they never seen Lu Xue, the eldest daughter of the Lu family, being so intimate with any man, but she usually didn't even have male company when shopping—only female friends or classmates.

Has Miss Lu gotten herself a boyfriend?

But... isn't he a bit too ordinary?

They secretly scrutinized Lu Han. Although he looked somewhat handsome, his attire suggested he came from a middle-class family at best.

He really doesn't match up to Miss Lu.

"Brother, which brand do you like?"

However, Lu Xue's words brought even greater shock to these shop assistants.

They couldn't help but exchange glances, seeing the confusion in each other's eyes.

Brother?

Isn't Miss Lu's brother supposed to be Lu Ming, the young master?

Then... where did this brother come from?

Though puzzled, they were merely gossiping and wouldn't dare ask such a question directly.

What if they upset Miss Lu and she stopped buying from their stores? That would be like turning down money!

"I'm not very familiar with these luxury brands," Lu Han shook his head. "Didn't I say last night that I'd follow your lead today? I trust your taste."

"I heard your ex-girlfriend was quite wealthy, right?" Lu Xue whispered. "Wasn't her net worth over ten million? Why didn't she bring you here?"

Hearing this, Lu Han chuckled silently. Chu Ruoyan had indeed given him some light luxury items, but those were mostly bought directly and taken home. They rarely went shopping together.

"Silly girl, there's a big difference between assets worth ten million and savings of ten million," he said, ruffling Lu Xue's hair. "Besides, she works in the online gaming industry, which is notoriously short-lived and capital-intensive."

Lu Xue thought about it and realized the difference between assets and savings.

She had a classmate whose family was in the wine-making business, with assets including factories and equipment valued over ten million. However, they also had debts amounting to several million, and during tough times, the classmate had to budget carefully even for meal cards.

Still, Lu Xue felt indignant on behalf of her brother.

"She cheated on you with someone else, yet you still defend her," Lu Xue pouted, clearly unhappy with Chu Ruoyan.

"Just stating the facts," Lu Han shrugged. "You're right, let's not talk about her anymore."

The two entered a luxury store, and Lu Xue immediately spotted a pair of leather shoes.

She pointed and said, "Let my brother try these."

"Miss Lu has excellent taste; these are new arrivals from last night and one of our main autumn and winter styles," the well-groomed shop assistant complimented while briefly introducing the shoes. She then asked Lu Han, "Sir, what size are your feet?"

"Size 43."

The shop assistant quickly fetched the shoes, bringing three pairs in total—one size larger and one size smaller—to ensure the customer found the most comfortable fit.

Luxury store assistants might sometimes judge customers based on appearance, but once they identify potential buyers, their service becomes exceptionally attentive and detailed.

However, what followed next caught both the shop assistants and other customers off guard.

"Brother, sit down," Lu Xue gently pushed Lu Han onto the sofa for customers to rest and began to untie his sneakers.

She then lifted his foot onto her lap and put on the leather shoes handed by the shop assistant.

"Brother, are they comfortable?" Lu Xue stood up, tucking her slightly messy hair behind her ears, revealing a gentle and charming face.

The shop assistant was almost dumbfounded.

I mean, even if he's her brother, isn't this a bit excessive?

Why does Miss Lu treat him so well?

Other men nearby, unaware of the relationship between Lu Xue and Lu Han, were envious and jealous, nearly cursing out loud. They assumed the two were a couple. Comparing their girlfriends or wives to Lu Xue, they wondered why they never received such treatment.

Damn it, why does this guy deserve it?

"They're quite comfortable and fit perfectly," Lu Han said, standing up and walking around a bit.

Although his expression remained calm, a warm current surged through his heart.

Even if Lu Xue was acting, she was still the first woman in many years to treat him so meticulously.

"Then keep them on; don't take them off," Lu Xue, accustomed to not asking about prices, instructed the shop assistant to pack Lu Han's old sneakers.

"Shall I remove the price tag, sir?" The shop assistant was overjoyed. New arrivals generally didn't participate in discount promotions, offering higher commissions. This pair of leather shoes cost over 40,000 yuan, earning her a commission of over 1,000 yuan.

Unfortunately, Lu Xue only chose this pair of shoes in the store. Though she tried several outfits and pants for Lu Han, none seemed quite right.

When they left, the shop assistant forced a smile, her disappointment indescribable.

Over the next two hours, Lu Xue took Lu Han through all the luxury stores in the mall.

Not only did they purchase several sets of clothes and shoes, but she also bought him a Patek Philippe watch worth over a million yuan.

By midday, they had spent close to two million yuan.

But Lu Xue didn't feel the slightest regret.

Who cares, since he's my brother?

She looked at the newly dressed Lu Han and marveled at how much better he looked. "Man looks good in new clothes" wasn't just a saying—it was true! He looked incredibly handsome!

"Brother, I'm hungry. Let's go eat," Lu Xue clung to Lu Han's arm, her demeanor affectionate, rubbing her cheek against his arm.

Unbeknownst to them, a man in a corner nearby captured this scene on his phone.

"What the hell is going on with Lu Han?" he muttered angrily. "Hooking up with Su Qingli is one thing, but who is this beautiful girl today?"

He gritted his teeth and dialed a number, speaking with feigned hesitation, "Chu Ruoyan, guess... who I saw?"
