Chapter 1 - Buying and Selling (1)
An Yun was lying on a donkey cart, with a thatched mat covering his head casually, blocking him from the scorching sun.
Occasionally, with the bumps on the road, a lot of ash fell from the hollow gap and landed all over An Yun’s face.
An Yun, who had taken Soft Muscle Pill, had no strength at all at the moment, and it was difficult to even raise his hands.
After several heartbreaking coughs, he stretched out his hands to wipe away the ashes on his face, then laid there numbly as if he had lost all strength, and the donkey cart continued forward.
An Yun didn’t know whether he was lucky or unlucky this time. He was an orphan in his previous life. He struggled in an orphanage until he was 19 years old and finally got admitted to a good university.
Just as An Yun was looking forward to a wonderful college life and planning carefully for the rest of his life, he was hit by a car while trying to save a child on his first day of attending the school.
When he opened his eyes again, An Yun found that he had arrived in this unknown dynasty in history. Many places here were very similar to those of the ancient times, but there were big deviations.
This deviation was:
First, foods that would only appear later in history were available in this dynasty and were widely distributed.
Second, there was a third gender besides men and women, which was a shuanger who looked like a man but was weaker and could give birth to children.
Third, although this unknown dynasty had many similarity with ancient times, the classes here were clearly defined.
The body that An Yun traveled through was only 15 years old. By coincidence, he was the third gender, and he was also a shuanger. After he collapsed and checked, he found that this gender was more like an intersex person, and he became more and more desperate.
What made An Yun feel even more desperate was that not only was he not even a poor man, but he was also a shuanger who was sold because of some secrets of a wealthy family, and even the deed of his body was still in the hands of the buyer, Yan Po.
An Yun felt that he must have done a lot of evil in his last life, otherwise he would not suffer so much in two lives and God would not let him stay here as a big joke.
However, even in this situation, An Yun still wanted to live well, and he would never give up until the last step.
After all, he was an orphan in his previous life. In an orphanage, where he learned to protect himself from the harsh life and where he could easily die if he was not careful, An Yun never gave up on living a good life. Now that he was mentally mature, he had a better chance of surviving, and he was even less likely to give up.
As An Yun thought about this, the donkey cart shook again, causing him to cough again. After the heartbreaking cough, he heard the curse from Yan Po outside.
“You sick and consumptive ghost! What evil have I done to be exposed to such a thing? If I had known that you would be so sick now, I would have sold you long ago so that I could get more money! If you keep going on like this, I’m afraid I have to bury your corpse and get no money, what a bad luck!”
Yan Po didn’t feel bad about burying the corpses of the people she trafficked, because she always lost one or two every time, she sold the goods.
But what made her unwilling was that the current product was obviously the best quality she had purchased in the past few decades, and it was also the most profitable one she thought. Maybe after completing this business, she could retire and live a wealthy life.
For this reason, Yan Po ignored the wealthy family’s instructions and did not find a remote place to deal with him. Instead, she brought him here, hoping to find a generous buyer.
The result was not what she expected. She hadn’t earned the money yet, but the goods were almost out of stock. How could she be willing to lose all the money in vain?
An Yun twitched his lips as he listened to the cursing outside. In fact, he was willing to let the Yan Po throw him away earlier, so that he would at least have some chance of escaping.
But obviously, Yan Po was reluctant to part with such a ‘good thing’ like him, and wouldn’t give up until she could squeeze out the remaining value.
Sure enough, after An Yun finished thinking like this, Yan Po outside finished cursing, calmed down at the same time, and started talking again, “Do you know how much money I have spent on you along the way? Even if you are going to die, you have to pay it all back to me!”
After saying this, Yan Po lowered her voice again and started talking to the people next to her as if she had thought of something.
The voice was lower and softer, so An Yun couldn’t hear clearly what Yan Po said.
Soon, An Yun felt that the bumps of the donkey cart beneath him gradually became less frequent, and the people around him became more lively, finally arriving at a place where the flow of people was even more bustling.
Through the gaps in the covered straw mat, An Yun saw a lot of moving legs. Judging by the various clothes people wore, he guessed that they were entering the city and had entered a busy street.
Listening to the bustling sounds around him, An Yun thought aimlessly. He didn’t know where Yan Po and her thugs were taking him, but they probably wouldn’t kill him since selling the living was more valuable here than the dead.
Just when An Yun felt that his idea was a bit ridiculous and couldn’t help but laugh out loud, he suddenly heard a burst of exclamations from beside him.
