After Being Abducted and Raised by A Snake

Chapter 7

Wan Zhong, who had been running all night, was soundly asleep. He didn’t even know when the black snake would come back.

Upon waking, he found himself holding the tip of the black snake’s tail, nestled in the circle it made with its tail. Unknowingly, he had become accustomed to this way of getting along, at least avoiding fainting.

Wan Zhong looked at the black snake’s tail rising slightly in his arms for a moment, then removed the leg that was resting on the black snake’s tail. Not far away, a basket full of bright red snake fruits caught his eye, the quantity was doubled that of before.

Wan Zhong secretly glanced at the sleeping black snake, got up, took a few herbal leaves the black snake had brought back to apply to his wounds, put them in his mouth, chewed and rinsed his mouth, and then began to eat.

The snake fruit had a thin skin, was large, fresh, plump, and especially juicy. It was very sweet in the mouth with a crispy texture that was quite filling.

Wan Zhong didn’t know where the black snake picked this fruit. Yesterday he searched all around and couldn’t find a fruit tree. But no matter how delicious it was, it was too much after eating it for so long.

In moments when there was no fear for life.

Wan Zhong wanted to eat meat, flour, vegetables, and anything else except snake fruit.

Once the glutton in his stomach got the upper hand, Wan Zhong even started to stare at the black snake curiously.

‘I wonder if snake meat is delicious?’

‘Does snake soup smell good?’

‘I heard that snakes are full of treasures.’

The meat was not only delicious but also rich in nutrients. It was a delicacy in dishes. Snake liver, snake gall, snake skin, snake oil, snake blood, snake slough, and even offal such as snake venom and snake intestines could also be used as medicine to treat diseases.

Wan Zhong’s eyes were shining, and he looked at the black snake carefully from head to tail. As his saliva overflowed from the corner of his mouth, he thought that it was so big, not only could it be eaten for a long time after being killed, but it could probably crush him into pulp just by moving its tail, right?

He wiped his mouth and tried to dig a hole to catch a bird to eat, but there were no birds around the snake’s nest, not even a mosquito.

.

Wan Zhong was just mentally uncomfortable at first, but later his nutritionally imbalanced body began to protest against him.

Wan Zhong’s hair began to fall out, and his complexion turned sallow. The originally fair and firm skin seemed to have been drained of moisture, and began to become pale and loose…

There were many other symptoms like this.

Wan Zhong looked at his thinned nails and found that the crescent edge symbolizing health had disappeared, replaced by deep vertical and horizontal lines and depressions.

He realized that if he continued like this, he wouldn’t need to secretly worry about losing weight. Even if he started eating now, his body wouldn’t be able to last much longer if he only had snake fruit as food.

And the black snake seemed to sense that something was wrong with him. It moved gently around Wan Zhong. It coiled around him and kept licking him with its snake tongue all day long. There was even a trace of sadness in its green vertical pupils.

Wan Zhong guessed the black snake must knew he was in a bad state. The black snake didn’t sleep that day, didn’t play in the mud, didn’t look in the mirror, and didn’t go out as usual after the sun went down.

It just guarded him and kept licking him, as if thinking that he would get better in this way.

Wan Zhong allowed the black snake to do what it did, but he would not be narcissistic enough to think that a snake would have feelings for him.

He regarded the sadness in the black snake’s vertical pupils as the emotion he subjectively imposed on it. He also regarded the black snake’s behavior caring about, as its regret and remorse for not eating his reserve food in time.

Just like when he was a child, his grandfather transplanted a strawberry plant for him. He hoped that it would bloom and bear fruit soon. But when the strawberry finally turned red, he greedily hoped that it would grow a little longer until one day it would be bright red and ripe. But the fruit was eaten by reptiles, and he regretted it and burst into tears.

He thought why didn’t he eat it in the first place?

Wan Zhong felt the black snake should be in that mood now.

But he was coaxed by his doting grandfather, and in the end, he still ate the expensive strawberries his grandfather bought with the money he earned from collecting rags and selling them in a day.

.

But the black snake’s sadness was in vain, and no one cared for it.

Wan Zhong didn’t know why, but he suddenly felt a little guilty… After all, it was thanks to the black snake that he was able to survive for so long on this dangerous desert island, safe and sound.

But he tricked it into secretly losing weight.

Wan Zhong laid weakly on the tail of the black snake. In order not to die inside the snake’s belly, he felt that he had to say something.

He spoke earnestly and kindly gave it a confirmation, “I’m sick and already broken. You must not eat me; otherwise, you will also get sick.”

The black snake looked at him with faint eyes, the always high-spirited head hanged low.

Wan Zhong also looked at it. His strong desire to survive made him put aside his fear and all worries. He carefully touched its tail and said softly: “I haven’t eaten meat and salt for too long. I need other food besides fruits. Can you find it for me? Otherwise, I will really die. If I die, you will have wasted your efforts raising me for so long.”

This passage was like a holy book for any animal. But the black snake was not an ordinary black snake, and it really understood.

Under Wan Zhong’s shocked gaze, the black snake bent the tip of its tail into a ‘hook’ shape, rolled him up with a snake tongue, and sat him on it. Then, pressing the tip of its tail against his back, it carried him like the wind, leaving the cave and crawling into the deep forest.

.

Before Wan Zhong had always been carried away by the black snake’s tail. But he had never ridden on its tail. Although he felt that the black snake was crawling very fast, every night, he thought it was going to throw him out or hit a tree. However, the black snake could always nimbly avoid all obstacles and carry him firmly on its tail without even touching the treetops.

Wan Zhong’s tense nerves relaxed slightly, and he tried to sit up straight, hugging the black snake’s slightly arched body tightly.

At first, he was afraid that its scales would cut him, so he didn’t dare to put his face against it. In the end, he really didn’t have the strength, so he could only tentatively put his arms on his face and lie down on it.

Then the black snake made a sharp turn.

“Ah!” It would definitely hurt, right?

Back then, he just touched the snake scales lightly, and his hand was covered with wounds, causing a lot of blood.

Would it hurt to death this time?

Wan Zhong subconsciously hugged the black snake with both hands as it drove at high speed. He closed his eyes and frowned, preparing himself for bleeding and injury, but…nothing happened.

The black snake was as fast as a dragon swimming in the forest. The broken moonlight projected from the thick branches made its body shine like moving water waves.

Wan Zhong opened his eyes and found that those extremely sharp scales had all closed automatically at some point, and they were as tight as an iron plate without gaps. No matter how hard he bumped against it, the black snake’s scales would not hurt him at all.

Wan Zhong’s eyes widened, his lips and teeth slightly opened, and the black snake slowed down and stopped in front of a bush.

It sat him on a high branch, wrapped a vine around his body with its tail to secure it, licked his pale and bleeding lips, and disappeared with a swish.

Wan Zhong didn’t know what the black snake was going to do. He just felt like he was panicking. Within ten seconds, the elusive black snake reappeared under the tree.

The originally peaceful forest suddenly resounded with sounds of milky wailing and squealing.

While countless pairs of ferocious beast eyes lit up the darkness, there were also faint roars and screams of various beasts.

.

In the moonlight.

Wan Zhong saw the black snake drawing the ground with its tail as a prison, and there were many strange little beasts inside, all of which were cubs waiting to be fed.

“This is…”

Wan Zhong was stunned, watching the black snake wrap its thick snake body around his waist, put its head on his shoulder, vomited scarlet snake tongue, and rolled up a chubby tiger cub onto his lap.

Let him ate it.
