After Becoming a Villain, the Fairies Regretted and Chased Me

Chapter 008:

Chapter 008: The Sincerity of the Senior Sister:

“Song Ye, have you lost your mind? You’re actually drinking demon beast blood! Even if you’ve lost your cultivation, you don’t need to degrade yourself like this!” Xie Qingshuang shouted, both heartbroken and angry.

But Song Ye only replied coldly, “My affairs are none of your concern.”

Xie Qingshuang was taken aback, her eyes widening.

Such a cold tone, such heartless words—was this really the same Song Ye?

In the past, if she exchanged even a few words with him or gave him a slight smile, he would be overjoyed for half a day.

Now, after just one day apart, he had changed so much!

For the first time, she felt the sting of being spoken to with such indifference. She realized this was how she had often responded to him—coldly, shutting him out, time and again. How many times had he been hurt by her dismissive tone?

She felt truly guilty.

“Song Ye, I know you’re in pain right now, but I beg you not to give up on yourself, and don’t let yourself be corrupted by demonic influences.” Xie Qingshuang said, her tone softening.

“Come back to the Heavenly Mystery Sect with me. The Sect Master has agreed to let you stay for now.”

“If I can find a way to restore your immortal veins, you’ll be able to return to the sect and cultivate again!”

Hearing this, Song Ye realized that Xie Qingshuang hadn’t noticed that he had already forged demonic veins and entered the demonic path. Her cultivation was now below his, so she couldn’t see through him.

But many people in the Heavenly Mystery Sect had a higher cultivation base than him, and they’d easily see that he had turned to demonic practices.

If he went back with Xie Qingshuang, he’d be walking into his own execution—the Sect Master herself might be the first to kill him.

Going back now would be no different than asking for death!

“You’re asking me to go back?” Song Ye’s lips curled into a faint smile, an amused gleam in his eyes.

“Well… yes, I suppose I am.” Xie Qingshuang replied, her voice dropping.

“If you’re asking me, then you need to show a little sincerity.” He said.

“What kind of sincerity do you want?” she asked.

“Dual cultivation, with me. Right here, right now.” Song Ye said, his expression cold and serious.

“What…?!” Xie Qingshuang froze, utterly shocked.

Though he seemed different, he was, at his core, the same—he still craved her, wanting to spend days and nights dual cultivating with her!

Agreeing to dual cultivate was out of the question, but she didn’t want to outright reject him again and hurt his feelings.

She decided to offer him some false hope, to lure him back first and figure things out later.

“Actually, dual cultivation with you isn’t impossible,” she said. “But it’s something that takes time. We should get to know each other better and develop our bond first. If you return to the Heavenly Mystery Sect with me, we’ll have more opportunities to be together, won’t we?”

Saying this took every ounce of her resolve; she was certain that the promise of this “reward” would be enough to convince Song Ye to return with her.

But in truth, Song Ye’s proposal for dual cultivation was merely a ploy to get her to back off so he could slip away.

He had no intention of foolishly returning to the Heavenly Mystery Sect to die.

“Heh, there’s no need for such empty words. Your sincerity isn’t enough. Go back by yourself; I’m not going with you.” He replied with a cold smile.

Xie Qingshuang was astonished once again.

How was that not sincere enough? Did he actually expect her to agree to dual cultivate right here, in this hut, for it to count as sincerity?

‘Song Ye, you shameless junior brother, don’t push your luck!’

Though she felt a flare of anger, she kept it hidden. Right now, the most important thing was to convince him to return to the sect.

This foolish junior brother probably didn’t even realize how dangerous it was for him to be out here alone.

As his senior sister, it was her responsibility to protect him.

Fine, if he wants sincerity, she’ll show him sincerity.

“You want sincerity? I’ll give it to you. But you have to wait here for me. I’ll be right back.” Xie Qingshuang said.

“Alright, I’ll wait for you here!” Song Ye agreed quickly this time.

Xie Qingshuang took a few steps forward, but, feeling uneasy, she looked back. “Don’t go anywhere. Stay right here until I return.”

“Don’t worry. I won’t go anywhere until you get back.” Song Ye replied.

Of course, this was a lie.

Xie Qingshuang took off, flying toward the Heavenly Mystery Sect.

Once in the air, she suddenly turned back, quietly channeling a spell and casting a protective barrier over the bamboo grove where Song Ye was.

The barrier would keep him safe, preventing any demonic cultivators from entering the grove while she was gone.

It would also contain him, ensuring he didn’t wander off and disappear.

She was determined to protect him, even if it required every precaution.

However, she didn’t realize that with Song Ye’s current cultivation, breaking this barrier would be as simple as lifting a finger.
