After 100 days of signing in system, My first operation shocked the world

Chapter 61

Chapter 61: Competition, Stepping onto the Stage [Part-3]

Zhang Fan grumbled to himself. He had originally wanted to suggest Lin Feng go to Duck University Hospital, but now he couldn’t say it anymore.

What’s the use of a big platform?

They paid too little!

Lin Feng smiled lightly and continued eating.

In fact, for Lin Feng, the size of the hospital or the platform didn’t matter. It had no impact on him. That was all he needed as long as he clocked in daily, received rewards, and quietly became stronger.

Zhang Fan helplessly said, “Alright, since that’s the case, let’s forget about it then…”

Lin Feng respectfully said, “Thank you for your trust, Old Zhang.”

Zhang Fan shook his head and said, “But you have to promise me, if there are any difficult surgeries in the future, I’ll invite you to Duck University Hospital. Don’t refuse, okay?”

Lin Feng laughed, “I definitely won’t refuse!”

Then, Zhang Fan started talking about his own past, bragging and chatting…

After a meal, their relationship became much closer.

March 4th.

Lin Feng returned to Peng City and reported to the emergency room. The good news was that Director Zhou had undergone nearly four months of rehabilitation treatment and returned to the emergency room two days ago to continue working!

The emergency department once again had its backbone!

When Lin Feng’s colleagues heard that he would participate in the South China University Student Clinical Skills Competition, they congratulated him one after another.

The next morning, Lin Feng arrived at the emergency room on time. Xiao Li was scolding Dr. Song Ziming again for being late. Lin Feng noticed that Dr. Song seemed quite pleased. Could there be something going on between them?

A patient arrived before he could even take a sip of hot tea.

A couple rushed into the room carrying a 7-year-old girl. The little girl had a pale complexion and looked extremely weak, her big eyes staring weakly at Lin Feng. Upon seeing her, Lin Feng’s heart couldn’t help but ache for her.

The mother burst into tears and cried loudly. The father also wore an anxious expression on his face.

Lin Feng quickly comforted the parents, “Don’t worry, tell me what happened.”

The mother quickly explained, “It’s like this, my daughter has been vomiting, having diarrhea, feeling nauseous, and refusing to eat these past few days…”

Lin Feng frowned and accused, “Why did you wait for two days before bringing her here?”

The mother felt embarrassed momentarily and said, “My husband and I have been busy with work outside, so…”

“Busy? Is your child’s illness not important even if you’re busy?” Lin Feng touched the little girl’s cold hand and scolded the parents angrily.

The parents were rendered speechless by Lin Feng’s scolding.

At this moment, the little girl weakly said, “Brother, don’t scold Mommy and Daddy. They work very hard.”

Lin Feng looked at the little girl’s pleading eyes, his heart softened, and he sighed.

What a sensible child!

She didn’t cry or make a fuss when she came in, and now she’s defending her parents like this. Lin Feng couldn’t help but feel heartbroken for her.

“Swallow…” The parents embraced their young daughter, tears rolling down their cheeks again.

Lin Feng smiled warmly and said, “Little sister, let me check your body, and later you can tell me where it hurts, alright?”

With her innocent voice, the little girl replied, “Okay, brother.”

Lin Feng began the examination of her abdomen, following the sequence. After the check-up, there were no specific findings except for tenderness in the upper abdomen, where the liver is located.

“The liver?” Lin Feng inquired.

“Maybe it’s not gastroenteritis?” He pondered.

Just a moment ago, Lin Feng heard the mother complain that the little girl had been vomiting, having diarrhea, and losing her appetite. Initially, he had thought it might be gastroenteritis.

With tenderness in the liver area, another possibility crossed his mind: liver cancer.

“Liver cancer?” He wondered aloud.

Lin Feng shook his head and chuckled, feeling overly sensitive. The probability of a 7-year-old girl having liver cancer was exceedingly low. Considering the general mechanisms of cancer, the incidence rate in children, except for certain types like leukemia, was not high.

As for liver cancer, it rarely occurs in children. However, Lin Feng couldn’t rule out the possibility due to his professional sensitivity. Lin Feng pointed out several examination forms, including complete blood count, urinalysis, B-ultrasound, and CT scans.

“You should get these tests done and pay first,” Lin Feng advised.

The mother nodded eagerly, saying, “Alright, I’ll go right away!”

The father hurried to the payment counter with the examination forms in hand. After paying, he swiftly went to the imaging department and the laboratory for the tests.

Next, Lin Feng continued to see other patients, but the image of the sensible and heart-wrenching little girl lingered. Moreover, Lin Feng had a vague suspicion that it might be liver cancer.

“I hope it’s not liver cancer…” He muttered.

After waiting for nearly two hours, the parents arrived at the emergency room, still holding their daughter.

“Doctor, please help us. Just now, my daughter vomited again,” the mother implored.

Lin Feng paused the next patient and received a stack of test reports from the little girl’s father.

The first report was the ultrasound results: “Multiple solid space-occupying lesions in the liver – consider liver cancer (further examination recommended).”

Lin Feng’s expression changed. It seemed to be liver cancer.

The father’s lips trembled, and he asked, “Doctor, what’s wrong?”

Lin Feng turned to the CT scan report, which confirmed his suspicion: “Massive space-occupying lesion in the right lobe of the liver, suspected liver cancer,” Lin Feng sighed. There was no need to say more. It was liver cancer.

“Perhaps the tests were incorrect..,” he mumbled, but deep down, he knew the diagnosis was likely correct.

Upon seeing Lin Feng’s change in expression, the parents grew uneasy. “Doctor, what’s wrong?” they asked.

“I’m sorry, although I don’t want to say it, you need to know… Based on the current two test reports, your daughter has liver cancer,” Lin Feng explained gently.

The parents were stunned, unable to comprehend the gravity of the situation.

“Liver cancer?” they murmured in shock.

“Cancer..,” they repeated, their voices filled with disbelief.

Cancer, a disease that sent shivers down the spines of many, is synonymous with the Grim Reaper.

The father’s knees gave way, and he knelt heavily before Lin Feng. “Doctor, please save my daughter!”

“I can’t lose my daughter, please, I beg you!” the mother cried out, holding the girl in her arms, but the little girl, too young to understand, simply watched her parents with curiosity.
