Chapter 11: [11] Brian's Prophecy Comic Is Fresh Out Of The Oven

"Why did that telepathic mutant let us go?"

On the flight to Oxford University in the United Kingdom, Moira was still a bit shaken.

She looked at Brian, who was staring at the sea of clouds outside the plane, and asked the question that puzzled her the most.

"Because I made her happy, and more than once."

Brian's answer was concise and to the point.

Moira was stunned for a moment, but she found herself unable to argue.

"Brian, you really are a bastard."

After a moment of silence, Moira couldn't help but give Brian the middle finger.

"Thank you for the compliment."

Brian didn't mind Moira's gesture at all.

"Brian, can Professor X, as mentioned in Darwin's prophecy, really help us defeat Sebastian Shaw?"

Moira asked again, looking worried.

Shortly after Brian and Moira left the Hellfire Club,

Moira, who now trusted Brian, asked him how they could defeat Sebastian Shaw.

And Brian didn't hide anything; he told Moira all about Professor X, using Darwin's supposed prophecy as the explanation.

And Brian told Moira that this was the only way Darwin had seen to defeat Sebastian Shaw among the 14 million futures he had observed with his prophetic ability.

Heh~

Moira believed it, so she immediately booked a flight to Oxford University.

"According to Darwin's prediction, Professor X is the future leader of mutants.

He will definitely help us defeat Sebastian Shaw," Brian said with great confidence.

"I hope so."

Although she believed in Darwin's prediction, Moira, who had seen the formidable power of the Hellfire Club mutants, still lacked some confidence.

She murmured, then turned to look at Brian.

"Brian, what are you drawing?"

Hearing Moira's question, Brian looked up from the sketchbook in his hand and handed over the comic he had just drawn to Moira, who was full of curiosity.

Moira picked up the comic and looked at it with interest.

The comic was in the form of a four-panel strip.

There were four different scenes depicted.

The first scene was quite simple.

In front of a massive array of antennas, a bald young man sitting in a wheelchair was pressing his right hand to his temple.

Next to him, there was a line of text:

Professor X.

In front of Professor X, there was a man with a shark-like grin.

The text was marked as: Magneto.

Above the two characters, there was a speech bubble:

"Erik, remember, your ability can be stimulated not only by anger and pain. Calmness will make you stronger."

Behind them was a scene showing a group of young mutants in training.

And then the second panel.

A group of human soldiers were frantically attacking a man in a suit.

Countless bullets struck the man's body but had no effect on him.

After the soldiers finished attacking, the man simply raised his foot, and a terrifying energy shockwave instantly engulfed the soldiers.

Above the man's head, it was labeled: "Sebastian Shaw invades CIA headquarters."

The third panel.

It depicted a bar scene, with a man sporting a thick beard and wild hair edges, smoking a cigar and drinking beer.

There was an iron tag on the man's neck, which read: Wolverine Logan.

Next to this man were Professor X, the bald man in the wheelchair from the first scene, and Magneto, the man with the shark-like smile.

The two were inviting Wolverine Logan.

In response to the invitation, Wolverine Logan just looked at them coldly, and there was a large speech bubble next to Wolverine's mouth:

"Fuck Off."

The fourth panel was only half-drawn. In it, Professor X was wearing a Cerebro-like brainwave enhancer, surrounded by faint red figures.

"Brian, what is this?"

Moira pointed to the comic in her hand and asked in surprise.

"Moira, this is the future," Brian replied with a smile.

"The future?"

Moira looked at Brian in astonishment and subconsciously clenched the comic in her hand.

"Darwin often recorded the future scenes he saw in the form of drawings. However, Darwin didn't learn professional painting.

And as a watchmaker, I happened to have learned how to draw since I was young.

So, I became Darwin's artist and helped him record the future scenes.

This is one of the future pictures I've recorded."

From the beginning, Brian was prepared to shape the deceased Darwin into a prophet.

Only in this way could Brian perfectly use his advantage as a plot prophet.

Only in this way could Brian's various predictions appear reasonable.

For any questionable action, Brian could bring up Darwin and say:

"I got inspiration from Darwin's foresight."

That's why, before boarding the plane, Brian bought brushes and drawing paper from a roadside store.

He planned to draw the plot of First Class directly in the form of a comic in advance.

When the time comes, after seeing this predictive comic, even Professor X would be convinced of Darwin's identity as a prophet.

The comic in Moira's hand showed a few scenes from First Class.

Moreover, to create the impression of a nonlinear prophecy, Brian deliberately scrambled the order of the plot.

As for the depiction of the bald Professor X in a wheelchair, that was Brian's little joke.

It was definitely meant to prove the accuracy of Darwin's prediction.

"Is this Professor X?"

Looking at the bald young man sitting in the wheelchair, Moira frowned slightly.

Brian ignored Moira and continued with his creation.

Thanks to his predecessor's skill as a watchmaker, Brian's comic illustrations were vivid, and each scene flowed naturally, as if he were printing the pictures from his mind directly onto the paper.

While Brian was busy drawing the predictive comics, the plane landed smoothly in the United Kingdom.

After Brian and Moira got off the plane, Moira used her authority as a CIA agent to get a car, and they drove straight to Oxford University.

An hour later, at Oxford University.

In the Newman Bar on campus, a group of young people were reveling in their youth.

In front of the bar, a handsome man in a custom gray suit was holding a glass of brandy, and his gaze was drawn to a particular pair of eyes.

These eyes were unique—each was a different color.

"Heterochromia, what a beautiful pair of eyes. And naturally, the girl with these eyes is also very beautiful," the handsome man said as he approached the woman, speaking with gentlemanly charm.

"This is quite an unusual way for a gentleman to start a conversation.

But since you're such a gentleman, aren't you going to buy me a drink?"

The girl glanced at the handsome man, clearly pleased with the compliment he had just given her.

"Of course, beautiful lady.

This glass of brandy is specially prepared for you."

The handsome man handed the brandy to the girl, smiling warmly.

Seeing the brandy, the smile on the girl's face faded, and she asked in surprise,

"How did you know what I wanted to drink?"

Faced with the girl's question, the handsome man smiled but said nothing.

"My name is Charles, Charles Xavier.

It's a pleasure to meet you, beautiful Miss Amy."

The handsome man was none other than the young Professor X, Charles Xavier.

Opposite Professor X, the girl named Amy looked at him with surprise.

"How did you know my name is Amy?"

In response to Amy's question, Professor X casually shrugged.

"I guessed."

"Amy, are you bothered by the fact that one of your eyes is green and the other is blue?

In fact, you don't need to be so troubled by it.

This is a typical genetic mutation.

A very fascinating genetic mutation.

This mutation makes you different from ordinary people and also gives you unique abilities.

Amy, I can tell you with certainty that you are a mutant."

Professor X spoke with admiration.

However, when Amy heard Professor X say that she was a mutant, her face suddenly turned cold.

"First, you flirt with a girl, then you tell her she's a freak.

Is that your strategy for picking up girls?"

Faced with Amy's cold stare, Professor X simply smiled calmly.

"Mutation is a necessary process of biological evolution. Don't be afraid of it, Amy. You need to try to accept it."

Professor X's expression was full of sincerity, which moved Amy despite herself.

"Cheers to the mutation and the glory you spoke of."

"Cheers."
