Academy Retirement Diary of the Student Council President

Chapter 16

- 'Kwang!'

"Ugh... Keoheok?!"

My head is spinning.

First, setting aside the intense heat in my stomach...

Whatever is dragging me seems determined to keep going, heedless of how the surrounding collapsed rocks and debris pierce and strike my body as it rushes forward, holding onto me relentlessly.

'Why did she appear now?'

Originally, she's supposed to be an intermediate boss who appears after Yun Sea is defeated by the Protagonist's party, after their specs have improved and the overall power level has risen.

- 'Kwadangtangtang!'

"Uwaaaak?!"

It seems the dragging finally stopped, as the Demon simply threw me aside.

'Damn it, what should I do...'

The Demon, Shena.

'Tsk, I need to get out of here quickly... but is there anything I can do even if I escape?'

Perhaps because I hit my head quite a bit while being dragged, my whole body is screaming in agony.

"Could you stay still for a moment? That Psychokinesis is rather cumbersome."

- 'Puk!'

"Kk.. Aaaaaaaak...!!"

Something that had been lodged in my stomach was instantly pulled out, and my blood began to drain rapidly. If it weren't for , the pain was agonizing enough that dying from shock wouldn't have been strange.

'...Damn it, it can't end like this...!'

I have , but at this rate, I'm destined to become her blood refill pack.

"Energy refi—"

- 'Puk! Puuuk!'

"Ugh, Aaaaak!"

Instantly, holes were punched through my thigh and shoulder blade.

"Kkeuuuk... It hurts..."

- 'Puuuk!'

"Aaaaaak!"

The white coat I'd been wearing often since Yun Seong-ho's death instantly started turning red with blood.

It was an item I favored because it had some protective magic woven into it.

- 'Slurp'

"Mmm... As expected, delicious. You're top quality."

The Demon, seemingly satisfied to some extent by drinking my blood, slowly grabbed my neck and squeezed tightly.

"Keoheok... Kehheuk?!"

"If I squeeze you to the limit... how much will come out?"

Along with my trembling arms, my mind instantly went blank.

'Crazy, this is the first time it's hurt this much...!'

Honestly, the game did have some gore elements.

After all, in the game, Yun Sea died by taking an attack from the Final Boss meant for the Protagonist, getting split in half.

Thanks to , I thought I didn't feel most pain well.

But right now, immense pain signals were flooding my brain.

"Keheuk... Keoheuk!"

"Mmm... It would be problematic if you died..."

- 'Thud!'

"Keo... Ugh... Cough, cough!"

My head is spinning, I can't think of anything.

In the meantime, as if still unsatisfied with my blood, the Demon grabbed my blood-soaked hair and lifted me straight up.

"...Uwaaa?!"

- 'Crack!'

"Mmm... Shall we start by slowly cutting off your finger joints? Your screams are cute, I like them!"

After that, how much time passed? I don't remember the details clearly.

The pain wasn't even felt anymore, and what I could see through my blurry vision was my fingers being chopped off segment by segment like finely slicing green onions, and the face of that creature, giggling with delight at the sight of the blood pouring from my body.

And then.

- 'Craaaaash!!'

The scene of a golden thunderbolt striking that Demon's face.

And then, my vision was somehow engulfed in the light of something like a shimmering Gate, before fading to black.

...

...

...

- 'Clatter!'

"Uwaaaaaak...!! Ugh, Kkeuuk..."

Due to the sudden impact, my head is spinning terribly. Is it because I lost too much blood?

"Ugh... It really hurts. To the point where I can barely lift a finger."

Let's recall the scene from just before...

First, Shena chopping my fingers like green onions for ramen, and then the golden thunderbolt striking both me—who was on the verge of going mad from pain—and Shena...

'Fortunately, it seems Eve arrived... but the matchup is bad.'

Eve Meitner is a Wizard type; while she boasts the strongest firepower... unfortunately, she's the weakest in close combat.

It just goes to show, in the story, even a High Goblin Magician, an A-Rank monster at the time, was defeated by the Protagonist who had B-Rank stats back then.

'The healing seems to be finished already.'

As I slowly moved my fingers, I saw they moved according to my will.

It was the first time I'd experienced torture-level pain since possessing Yun Sea's body, so I did thrash around like crazy... but the reason I didn't die from shock despite having holes punched in my body and my fingers chopped like green onions seemed to be because the pain was already etched into this body.

"Hoo... It's quiet."

I look around; there are no monsters.

'..........'

Before my eyes is just the corpse of a huge 'something'.

'Perhaps that light back then was the entrance to a Gate. A double Gate...'

Entering a Dungeon through a Gate, only to find another Gate inside, is extremely rare.

Usually, double Gates occur in two cases...

First, when a Dungeon's hidden reward is concealed.

Second, as a trace of someone sealing away an exceptionally powerful monster.

Originally, the Dungeon inside this Gate was probably supposed to contain ordinary C to B-Rank monsters.

However, the demonic energy emanating from that ominous space inside this Gate was creating A-Rank level monsters.

'Who would approach something emitting such an aura?'

If those A-Rank monsters created this way had just stayed holed up inside the Dungeon, it might have been fine... but unfortunately, the aura coming from that corpse felt incredibly ominous.

Even a newly spawned C-Rank monster looked around, panicked upon seeing the giant monster's corpse, and fled outside the Gate.

It must be that the A-Rank monsters that went outside like that completely wiped out the lower-rank monsters originally inhabiting the Dungeon.

And, a corpse emitting such an overwhelming aura that even A-Rank monsters flee... I've seen it before.

'Is it a part of the Final Boss's body?'

Shena came looking for a Gate containing a remnant of the Final Boss, Mephisto's, body.

A fact I learned while briefly overhearing her conversation.

The trigger for Shena visiting earlier than in the original story was probably me killing Yun Seong-ho...

Finding this Gate inside this Dungeon must have been pure coincidence.

'At least, it's safe for now.'

Thanks to the pain still etched into my body, my mind is hazy, as if under anesthesia.

"Even if it's safe here, I need to go provide support quickly..."

Outside, Eve is engaged in a life-or-death battle with Shena.

'She'll probably lose.'

Assuming the condition that the Dungeon mustn't collapse because I fell into this unidentified Gate...

Since Eve Meitner excels more in one-versus-many fights rather than one-on-one, she will definitely be pushed back against the quick and agile Shena.

As a powerful Magician, she won't fall victim to Shena's mental domination.

But she'll be overwhelmed in close combat and end up defeated, becoming a blood bag.

Shena is a maniac who enjoys consuming the blood of those with strong Mana.

We need to bring a Sword Demon or a Sword Saint. That was the conclusion I reached.

'What should I do... If things continue like this, both Eve Meitner and I will just end up as that bastard's blood bags...'

With Eve's stats as I know them, she can hold out for about an hour at best.

After an hour, Shena, having drained all of Eve's blood, will likely use the Gate to fully recover the remains of Mephisto.

How can I achieve the goal of obtaining something from that corpse to enhance my [Eye of Suggestion]...

And then, before my despairing eyes, I saw something glittering from the fallen part of Mephisto's body.

As if proving it was still the Final Boss even in decay, though just a body part... it was a part of Mephisto that had mimicked the form of a complete monster.

I quickly approached the vicinity of Mephisto, which lay fallen in the shape of a giant snake.

Getting closer, I saw one eye seemed to have been crushed against a rock on the floor and burst... but the other eye was still glittering as if alive.

And, when I used a nearby rock fragment to gouge out the glittering eye, the piece of Mephisto's corpse, for some reason, began to shrink to the exact size of my own eye.

[Part of ???]

[Use may cause severe mental erosion. Detailed information available after equipping.]

"...Haha, am I really this crazy?"

The insane idea of gouging out one's own eye and replacing it with this one... I thought that was only possible in games.

But Yun Sea had remained relatively fine even after having a Magic Eye implanted by Yun Seong-ho, who knew nothing about monster eyes. It was probably thanks to .

In moments of intense pain and desperate situations, it's naturally difficult to make rational decisions.

Was it a safety design course...?

Anyway, back when I was in university, I heard from a professor that even in a panic during a fire, people can easily open doors with lever handles... but there are cases where people suffocate from smoke because they can't open doors with round, twisting knobs.

And, at that moment, I thought that if I gouged out my eye with my own fingers, shoved that Magic Eye in before the eye socket healed, the parts of the eye regenerated by Recovery could connect with the newly inserted eye.

Even just seeing the corpse, it was a part of Mephisto that boasted such overwhelming majesty that B to A-Rank monsters would flee in terror.

I don't know what side effects there might be; I could die instantly from excruciating pain the moment I put this in my eye.

'What choice do I have? If I just sit here twiddling my thumbs, everyone dies.'

I have to clear this story somehow. To deal with the Demon Shena before me... this is the only method I can think of.

'It's a simple game: succeed and live, fail and die.'

Using Psychokinesis, I grabbed one of my eyes and pulled it out.

"Uwaaaaaaaaak...!! Kkeuk...!!"

And then, I moved this incredibly ominous eyeball of Mephisto right into the socket where my own eye had just been.

- 'Sizzle...!!'

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaak!!!"

It hurts.

'Damn it, it hurts too much...!!'

Pain washed over me, like a steel ball heated to 1000 degrees had been shoved directly into my eye.

"Uuuugh... Aak, Aaaaaaak!!"

But, I have to endure it somehow. Only then can I help Eve outside and escape this Dungeon.

A punishment for me, who failed to anticipate such sudden variables. Maybe it's easier to think of it that way.

"Uuuugh... Kkeuuk..."

Someone with a sound mind would have strongly believed that Eve Meitner outside the Gate would win, and would have prayed or stayed put.

But, due to self-Hypnosis and panic in an extreme situation, I was incapable of rational judgment.

The result of this insane clinical trial.

"Kkeuuuk... Fucking hurts."

Was quite successful.
