Chapter 1336: A Grand Show

Li Luo looked away from Wen Xuan's pitch black eyes as he cautiously retreated two steps.

"Li Luo, do you think you can purge the corruption afflicting Wen Xuan?" Li Tingyue asked as she couldn't bear to see her friend suffer like this.

Li Luo similarly had a good impression of Wen Xuan and in the Heavenly Dragon Treasury, when Li Hongque had wanted to cause them trouble, she had voluntarily stepped up to help him. He sighed heavily. "Grand Commander Wen Xuan's situation is much worse than yours. From what Guardian General Tingyue has said, she absorbed a Foundational Spirit Treasure into her body?"

Li Tingyue glumly sighed and nodded her head. "She wished to break into the third-grade Duke stage and thus used a middle-grade Foundational Spirit Treasure. It's all my fault, I should have stopped her. Otherwise she wouldn't have fallen to such a state."

Li Luo then glanced at Jiang Qing'e as the latter pondered over the situation. "The Black Pupil Ghostly Curse has already fully matured and it would be tricky to get rid of it. We can first seal her away and prevent the Ghostly Curse from completely eroding her mind. After which we will gradually purge the corruption from her and see if it can be removed. In this way, even if the curse cannot be completely removed, we can still suppress it and when the World End's River Treasure Domain comes to an end, we can bring her back to Heavenly Dragon City to seek further help."

"This is a safe method." Li Luo agreed as well.

Thus Jiang Qing'e took out a crystal case that was ten feet long from the pocket sphere on her wrist. On it were engraved complex runes of light that gave it a sanctified appearance.

This was a Devil Sealing Crystal Coffin which could be used to seal away Others that could not resist.

A bright holy light then condensed on the tip of her jade-like finger which contained the purest light resonant power which she then used to dot Wen Xuan's forehead. Sizzling sounds were heard as smoke wafted into the air.

The sacred light on Wen Xuan's forehead transformed into a runic pathway which radiated with light resonant power. It directly suppressed the corruption within Wen Xuan's body as her violently struggling body froze and fell to the ground.

With a wave of Jiang Qing'e's hand, light resonant power twisted around Wen Xuan's body as she was placed within the Devil Sealing Crystal Coffin. At the same time, Jiang Qing'e left another trace of light resonant power on the coffin itself, firmly sealing her.

"You can bring her along now." Jiang Qing'e said as she looked at Li Tingyue.

"Thank you Dragon Fang Envoy Jiang." Li Tingyue hurriedly thanked as she informed some of her squad members to carry the sealed Wen Xuan on their backs. Since it now contained a living creature, it could not be stored in the pocket sphere any longer.

Jiang Qing'e waved her hand as she cast her golden eyes towards Li Luo who was deep in thought and she asked. "What are you thinking about?"

Li Luo fell silent for a while longer before replying, "I'm just thinking just how this Black Pupil Ghostly Curse came about? Judging from the bits of information we obtained from purifying the flying moths, it seems like this wasn't something that had occurred naturally but was rather a work of man." These words immediately left the group shell shocked.

Li Foluo couldn't help but to pipe up at this point. "Just how strong is this person, being capable of affecting all the Foundational Spirit Treasures within the World End's River Treasure Domain."

"It must have been an Other King!" Li Tingyue's expression turned ugly.

Li Foluo spoke gloomily, "There are no Other Kings within the Treasure Domain. If that was the case, the King stage experts of the numerous Heavenly Emperor powers would have sensed it. You also know that whenever the Stygian Rain of Calamity descends, the Kings would also scan the depths of the Treasure Domain to ensure that this doesn't happen. The previous time was no exception."

"What if it wasn't an Other King but a True Devil? Perhaps it had the power to leave a curse on all of the Foundational Spirit Treasures within the Treasure Domain?" Li Tingyue suggested.

Li Foluo was left silent.

"It doesn't have to be the case that it was an Other King. There are other powers that are capable of doing this as well." Jiang Qing'e suddenly chimed in.

When Li Luo heard her words, a thought struck him. "Is Sister Qing'e suggesting that... the Origin Reversion Institute is behind this?"

"The Origin Reversion Institute?" Li Tingyue and Li Foluo glanced at each other as they frowned. Being higher level members of the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li, they naturally knew of how terrifying this mysterious organization was as well as news of them. It was a behemoth that even Heavenly Emperor powers are afraid of.

This massive organization had infiltrated every corner of the world and enjoyed causing trouble everywhere they went. Over the long annals of history, they had even managed to subvert Heavenly Emperor powers and their methods were terrifying beyond comprehension. If one were to say that the Ghostly Curve within the Foundational Spirit Treasures in the Treasure Domain was caused by their hand, it would actually be believable. At the very least, they had the ability to do so.

The Origin Reversion Institute and Others had an incredibly close relationship.

"It seems that this trip to the Treasure Domain has become way more complicated and dangerous than we had ever imagined." Li Luo commented dryly.

If these strange methods had originated from the secretive Origin Reversion Institute, then this would mean there was a full blown conspiracy afoot. However who was this directed towards? What was their goal?

"We need to quickly inform Li Qingpeng, Li Jiluo and the rest of the Hall Masters!" Li Foluo spoke resolutely.

They would be unable to stop the events from unfolding with their strength. Considering that there were no Kings within the Treasure Domain, high-grade Dukes would reign supreme.

Li Luo nodded his head as he gazed into the depths. All of the high-grade Dukes from the different powers had already been attracted to the deepest ends of the Treasure Domain due to the Other Dominion's disturbance. Similarly, they wouldn't know if the Origin Reversion Institute had a hand in that as well?

He frowned as he felt a deep sense of unease in his heart.

Just as Li Luo and the rest worried over the Black Pupil Ghostly Curse which they had inadvertently discovered, something was brewing in the darkness outside the Treasure Domain.

A figure walked out from the shadows. Its face had no features and it was a strange sight to behold.

This was the Faceless Other King from the Origin Reversion Institute.

A black substance seeped out of the flesh and blood on his palm, forming a black mirror.

As he looked at it, a scene was revealed.

It contained Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e.

As the Faceless Other King observed the duo, his empty visage squirmed slightly before gloomy laughter sounded out. "I had never expected that these two brats would discover my Black Pupil Ghostly Curse. Is that the Li Luo who is the supposed Genesis Seed which Qin Jiujie mentioned? He does have certain unique abilities." "Meanwhile that other young lady has three ninth-grade Light resonances. Keke... if she was allowed to mature, there would be yet another invincible Radiant King."

Although the Black Pupil Ghostly Curse was revealed earlier than expected, it remained unworried. The Origin Reversion Institute's plan would not be compromised in the slightest because of this.

A few ants could not change the situation.

"Since it's been discovered, I'll have no need to hide it anymore. Since the fish has already entered the net, it's time to reap the harvest." The Faceless Other King's empty face suddenly split apart as he stretched his hand out and grabbed something out from inside it. A blood red flute appeared and there were fleshy growths on it that slowly squirmed in an unsettling manner.

It gave off terrifying fluctuations of corruption and even the void in the area around him began to distort and warp.

It then placed the fleshy flute at the gap in its face as something strange seemed to flow out. At the same time, it began to blow and play the flute.

The sounds coming from the flute began to scatter in the surroundings, however what was strange was that it could only be heard if one was ten feet within the vicinity of the Faceless Other King. The soundwaves then merged with the void before it vanished, nowhere to be seen or heard.

"It seems this play is about to reach its climax. I hope things liven up a little... shishishi..."
