Chapter 51: Stain
In the end, Sora smiled and responded to her with the truth.
"Many Nejire.
I like many. I'm greedy… I'm selfish… and once I latch on, I'm not letting go. I'll shower them with kisses, drown them in love, and satisfy their every desire."
With every word Sora said, he grew closer to Nejire, his piercing golden eyes looking deep straight into her. His gaze enchanting, his voice soothing yet rough, and his smile was pulling on her heart's strings.
She could feel her cheeks turn rosy and burn in embarrassment.
She was disappointed at first, hearing Sora say many. But as she continued to listen to him, Nejire Can heard the honesty in his voice and in his eyes the earnestness he carried. She listened to his words and recalled their time together, she wondered to herself.
Was what he saying true?
She wondered to herself and grew curious. She wanted to know. Her heart wanted to be with him, and she didn't want to make a mistake, but her curiosity got the best of her.
She has to do it. If what he says is true, then she can be with him for a long time. Loving each other and being together every waking moment.
Nejire looked at his charming face and his honest smile. Her heart continued to thump loudly, but she held back.
She bit her lips nervously.
Eyeing her, Sora was calm.
He let Nejire decide.
He didn't want to lure her into a relationship built on lies. A building made with faulty materials is bound to fall and end disastrously. He understood that.
He didn't want to pressure her or trick her, she is a kind and innocent girl.
While Nejire stayed silent, Sora lifted his head and looked up at the darkening sky. School ended and the students were heading home.
Pulling out his phone, Sora planned to check the time when an alert suddenly arrived. Flashing on his screen was an alert from one of his mosquitoes.
"Nejire, I need to go."
Nejire was stunned and looked up at Sora, except he was gone already.
***
The entire city of Hosu was overrun by weird black humanoids with strong bodies and quirks. They were attacking and killing the innocent and the heroes.
Fires broke out and spread to other areas. Panic and chaos ensued as the pro heroes scrambled to get their job done.
"Mommy! I'm scared!"
A little boy, with snot and tears running down his face, hugged his mother tightly. Fear consumed him and his mother.
Hugging behind a trash can, he held in tightly to his mother who was trembling. She held him tightly and assured him that everything was going to be okay.
Suddenly, the boy heard the sound of something crashing against a wall. The wall broke and crumbled beside them, revealing a nomu's head.
Fear gripped the heart on the boy as he stared into one of the nomu's eyes. It appeared dead and laid there lifeless, a couple of scorch marks on its head.
Before the boy can grow content of the dead nomu, he watched horror as the nomu starts twitching and violently thrashing about in the hole. He could see something pointy and sharp start emerging from all over the nomu's body.
His heart constricts and his grows pale.
"Wahhh!"
The boy wails and cries as he realizes what's about to happen. The nomu broke free from the wall and with its spikes still out, it's stepped closer to him.
His mother screamed in fear and the boy nestled his head into his mother's arms.
Bang!
Then, the boy heard something hit the ground guard. He trembled and his cries fell as he realized his mother had grown quiet.
"So weak…"
Suddenly, the boy heard the voice of a man. Shocked and curious, the boy lifted his head, and he was stunned.
With eyes wide open, he looked at the figure standing tall and mighty. A smirk on his face and his bright golden eyes peering down at the nomu beneath his feet, like it was nothing but an ant. He had his hands behind his back, and he had such an imposing appearance.
Tsk!
The boy heard the man click his tongue before removing his leg from the nomu's body. He watched in awe as the man reached down to the spiky nomu.
"Be careful!"
The boy couldn't help but warm the man after seeing how the spikes had ground the wall and left the nomu free.
Those piercing golden eyes turned and looked at him, his breathing stopped from sheer awe. He watched in amazement as the man continued down and grasping the neck of the nomu and crushing the spikes in the process. He did it all with relative ease.
"So cool…"
The boy couldn't help but mutter.
With a smirk on his face, the man disappeared.
***
The nomu was useless.
Its blood was no longer pure, so it had no value to Sora. Neither was its scientific and research value. He had already studied the other one and had even created a much better method to create these… black humanoids.
Instead, he is planning to shove the nomu in Endeavor's face and laugh.
As Sora was traveling through the streets and taking down the nomus with a single punch or slap, he heard the sound of a sword. More particularly, he heard the groans and yells of some of the boys in Class 1-A.
Smirking, Sora shook his head. He stopped in place and stared at a certain spot in an alley. Turning his head somewhere else where there were bright flames burning straight up into the sky.
Lifting the nomu above his shoulder and pulling him back, Sora threw it straight to where the light was.
"Let's go help those youngsters," muttered Sora before moving.
Moving over with some quick movements, Sora arrives at the alley where he sees Midoriya, Tenya, and Shoto fight against a single man.
The instant Sora arrived, everyone took notice of him. The three boys are surprised to see Sora whilst Stain simply frowns and not recognizing Sora.
Meanwhile, Sora himself began frowning.
He recognized Stain and recalled the pain and sadness he caused Nejire a year ago when her father was attacked. Stepping forward, Sora calmly walked forward with his hands behind his back.
"Stay back! If he cuts you and licks your blood, you will be paralyzed!"
The lettuce boy yelled out, hoping to stop Sora from continuing to move forward. The other two also warned Sora, but Sora kept a deaf ear to them.
Grabbing his sword, Stain ran forward and straight at Sora. Swinging it at him, Stain watched as his sword was falling onto Sora's skin.
Clink!
Eyes wide from shock, Stain watched as his sword was stopped by Sora's bare skin. He looked at Sora and felt danger. Jumping back, he wanted to get as far as he could from Sora.
But that wasn't possible with Sora.
With a fast hand, Sora's hand clamped around Stain's neck.
"Gah! Let go! You're no hero!" Stain yelled as he pulled out a small dagger and tried slashing at Sora with it. Yet it didn't work on it, it was like Sora's skin was tougher than leather, making it difficult to cut or pierce with the small dagger.
Sora smirked and turned to look at the three kids.
"I'll take my leave now."
Ignoring Stain's yells and the astonished and confused looks from Tenya, Shoto and Midoriya, Sora left. Looking around, Sora went up to a rooftop where no one could see him.
"Filthy false hero! That's what you are!"
Stain continued to yell and hurl insults at Sora. He yelled a couple of insults before growing quiet and staring at Sora with anger in his eyes.
"I can't be a false hero if I never was a hero in the first place," Sora suddenly muttered after a while.
He turned his head and looked at Stain with an amused look. Waving his hand a little, a dark cloud hidden in the darkness of the sky began to slowly appear. Hovering above both Sora and Stain, the dark and buzzing cloud slowly fell towards them.
Stain looked up, a wary look in his eyes before turning to look at Sora.
"What is that?!"
Sora smiled.
"Don't worry about it."
***
"Gran Torino! There are more villains in the next area! Take care of them, I will protect this area!"
Surrounded by fires that the nomus created, Endeavor and a short old man in a hero costume, Gran Torino, were fighting against various nomu.
They may have been weak, but there's a large quantity of them. As soon as they take down one, two more would take their place.
"…"
Gran Torino didn't say a word as he nodded and moved onto the next area. He was sure that Endeavor could take care of this area, so took a step away and moved to the next area that needed help.
Striking at the nomus coming close to him, Endeavor made sure to burn them with his fire and strike them down. He released more of his power, no longer worrying about anyone else after Gran Torino left and the citizens fled the area.
"Go down!"
Endeavor yelled as he jumped forward and attacked the nomu. Every time his fist would land on a nomu, a bright and fierce fire would explode out and burn the black humanoid.
"Ha!"
With a growl, Endeavor punched a nomu into the air before blasting it with a fierce wave of fire. The fire was potent, and the black humanoid was incinerated into ash.
The fire died down and Endeavor watched the ash drift away in the wind. He looked at the ash and before he could react, a powerful force struck him from the side.
BANG!
With a loud bang, Endeavor crashed into the wall and his figure was entrenched into the ground for a couple meters before coming to a halt.
Deep in the trench, Endeavor laid bloody and with broken bones as a black humanoid with spikes on its body pressing heavily against him. Endeavor could barely keep his eyes open as he struggled to understand what had happened to him.
All he could recall was something smashing heavily against the side of his face as he looked at the ash. The next moment, that powerful force dragged him and pushed him into the ground. Creating a deep and long trench that Endeavor found difficult to escape in his badly wounded state.
He coughed and groaned, opening his eyes and looked at the face that was staring at him. Lifeless eyes and an exposed brain.
"Urgh… the hell?"
***
The next day, Sora was happily patrolling through the school.
A grin on his face despite what had happened the prior day. Not a care in the world as he thought about the great advancement he had achieved.
"Sora! Was it you?"
Suddenly appearing in front of Sora, Nejire was staring at him with a sweet smile on her face. She had heard the news of the Hero Killer Stain being apprehended by the cops this morning. He was unconscious and very thin, but no one could doubt that it is Stain.
On her way to find Sora and reveal to him the good news, she heard a couple of the first years say something. All of them talking about how three first years fought against Stain and were saved by a man in a martial arts suit.
Only one figure appeared in Nejire's mind. She is aware of various heroes who also wear martial arts uniforms, but Sora's leave yesterday made her suspicious. His strength is something she is confident and places great trust on. If it wasn't Sora, then it couldn't have been anyone else.
