A Third-Rate Villain’s Sweet Life Exploiting Academy Bugs

Chapter 6

Thud… thud…

[Error: Player ‘Lev Denec’ failed demon transformation.]

[Gold coin – Andras has been broken.]

Kraaaaaaak!!!

Bam!

[Combat achievement cleared.]

[72 Demons: 63rd – Andras has been defeated!]

[Remaining Great Demons: 56.]

[Error: Absorbed magic power is temporarily stored.]

“Got one.”

…….

The gamble paid off.

And that guy’s true identity was Andras… It seemed like it was related to Aria’s past from that fanfic…

Anyway, what’s disappointing is that that guy who could listen to my mockery and sarcasm no longer exists in this world.

I think he said something like “turn it back” at the end, but,

What can I do? I’m stuck here.

“This is some crazy OP trait.”

In the first installment of [Reincarnated Hero], there were definitely gimmicks like beast transformation and zombie transformation, where one could lose their humanity.

However, during Closed Beta, it didn’t support the spoiler issue of humans turning into demons.

This only changed much later with the patch notes for Reincarnated Hero 2, which said, “From now on, players can also become demons.”

So, it was impossible in the first installment, but possible in the second.

Since I’m judged by the Closed Beta standard, it simply means “demon transformation impossible.”

Of course, that raises the question of whether I can’t utilize new content that didn’t exist in the first installment but appeared in the second.

For instance, I definitely rode the Circulation Train that only existed in the fanfic to the dormitory.

But since there seems to be no issue, it seems that the phrase “from now on, players can ride the Circulation Train” wasn’t necessary in the patch notes.

Thus, my deduction is that things not specifically mentioned in the patch notes are generally applicable to me too.

“I can’t recall all the changes, but…”

Eventually, it’ll work out somehow.

Anyway, I’m no longer worried about turning into a rag, and I feel good about having outsmarted that author brat.

There’s no need for compromise to survive with these lousy stats.

Creative play is, after all, a player’s right.

By the way, what’s with that error status window…?

Chime!

[Trait – Supporting Role activated! Your actions have had a significant impact!]

[Penalty: To prevent the collapse of the world line, you will use the temporarily stored power.]

[Error has been corrected: Demon Transformation.]

“…Is this some sort of loophole?”

The setting regarding demon transformation started getting revised.

[From now on, ‘Lev Denec’ can also undergo demon transformation.]

Starting the game by defeating a Great Demon right off the bat does seem absurd.

It’s more like a bug-type play, and such behavior is somewhat contrary to the Supporting Role trait, so I expected it to some extent.

At least the consolation is that it doesn’t resurrect disgracefully, right?

But still, shouldn’t we give something to the exterminator?

Chime!

[Trait – Villain activated! You are qualified to inherit Andras’s will.]

[You inherit Andras’s skills!]

[Trait – Gamer activated! You can store skills.]

“Uh… Excuse me?”

I mean, Lev Denec is technically a villain, but…

Are you telling me to become a demon?

It’s too sweet of a skill to refuse.

First off, Demon Sight is definitely a must-have ramen skill.

Being able to check the opponent’s stats at a glance would be immensely helpful, even while I’m at the academy.

But then, there was an unexpected skill next.

▶(Current Stats + 0.5) x 1.05 status bonus.

‘Demon transformation as a skill?’

In [Reincarnated Hero 2], it appears as a skill obtained when the playable character enters a bad ending route.

To enter the true ending route, certain items must be acquired,
the Breath of the Colossal Dragon,
the Essence of the Ancient Dragon,
and the Feather of the Chromatic Hawk.

If you don’t possess at least two of these three, you’ll be defeated in the confrontation with the Demon King, and to patch up the lacking power, you’ll demonize yourself, ultimately resulting in the player becoming the next Demon King in such a bad ending.

“Damn, this is next-level OP!”

It’s a rare skill, but if I openly demonstrate demon transformation at a school that teaches how to catch demons, I would face countless cheers, or rather, a higher risk than simply getting my ass kicked.

Wonder if there’s any real use for this skill in my academy life…

Knock knock.

Whoa, that scared me.

At that moment, someone knocked on the door.

When I opened the door, standing there was Princess Melissa.

At this point, she should be stuck between Caeran and Edwin, I wonder why she’s here?

“……”

“Why at this hour?”

“……”

Melissa looked at me with a frown and then shifted her gaze down to my chest.

It was the kind of expression that said she expected to find trouble upstairs only to realize it wasn’t the case here.

But since she had to say or do something to feel satisfied, she met my eyes again.

“Although I know it’s late, can I come in for a bit?”

It’s a similar development that also existed in novels.

Since Melissa is quite sensitive to magic, she suspects Lev Denec’s demon transformation first.

Besides, she also directly witnessed the scene where I was being close to Aria, so my likability must be at an all-time low.

Even though it was just a fleeting moment, being able to pinpoint my exact position isn’t something just anyone could pull off.

Probably, only professors would manage that easily.

“Suit yourself.”

“……”

As I turned my body to let her pass, she still stared at my face intently.

“Excuse me.”

Then she walked into my room with brisk steps…

Thud!

…and stubbed her foot on a box.

That must’ve hurt…

Shiver…

But being a princess of the Principality of Prominence, she managed to withstand the pain.

“I’m in the middle of organizing my things, so watch your step.”

“……”

After tossing a word at her, I immediately used Demon Sight.

[Melissa Prominence]

▶[Average Stats]
: 2.4

▶[Specialization]
Circle Magic (3), Fire

▶[Unique Trait]
Insight (Lv.2) (Detailed info not viewable)

————————————————————

“Higher than I thought…”

It’s probably because the level of Demon Sight is only 1, so I couldn’t check stats in detail.

But a stat that’s hard to increase even by 0.1 is a whopping 2.4.

Moreover, since strength and endurance stats are also consolidated averages, her actual magic power must be higher.

And her unique trait, Insight, is at level 2…

Insight has an option to further increase the sensitivity to magic, which roughly translates to the fact that she has a magic sensitivity of over level 5 as a freshman.

‘Speaking of which, so does Aria…’

I recalled her composed stance while casting healing magic on the wounds I gave her.

Aria became proficient in healing magic ever since Edwin got heavily injured.

It seems like there’s a power inflation situation overall…

-So, do you, dear reader, really think the balancing of the first part is perfect?
-Just try it for yourself and see if those words hold true.

In that instant, the words the author said came to mind.

That author… Was I the only one stuck in the classic version?

A little while later, Melissa exited Lev Denec’s room.

‘What?’

I was a bit thrown off.

In the end, the ‘something’ she was worried about wasn’t there.

Although it felt very shallow…

There was undoubtedly a strange and unpleasant magical wave present.

It’s definitely here.

The only suspicious character is this one, so it must be certain.

“…Was it just my worry…?”

Melissa has never doubted her Insight ability until now.

Lev Denec, looking like a parasite, showed behaviors that screamed humanity’s downfall.

You didn’t need to use Insight to know even a fool could see that.

Especially after he flirted with Aria today, and then mumbling something behind Edwin, he looked like he was deeply engrossed with something, so everyone thought he’d cause some incident sooner or later.

However, that highly emotional guy had shown a calm demeanor just moments ago.

It strangely irritated Melissa.

Rustle…

She crumpled the entry permit stamped with the signature of the dormitory supervisor in her hand.

She hadn’t expected him to cooperate quietly when it came to entering rooms, so she felt like she wasted her effort.

By the way, one more puzzling thing was that Lev Denec’s room looked like he genuinely planned to move, with his belongings neatly packed in one corner.

‘Out of the blue, he’d decide to comply with the supervisor’s notice…?’

From the point he completely lost his mind, he had no qualms about standing up to the supervisor.

Thus, it was only natural for him to be expelled, and the only place left for him to go would be the academy dormitory known as the black house, which is like a banishment site.

Thinking of his nature, she expected he wouldn’t be able to endure it and would create a scene till the very end.

That’s why she had rushed over to see if he was preparing black magic to die together or something.

-You need to be careful as I’m organizing my things.

-…

Yet, she ended up feeling worried instead.

‘Such a fool.’

As much as she hated to admit it, his disheveled hair and rolled-up sleeves? That truly seemed to be the result of packing up.

Melissa shook her head as if the thought of Lev’s face was too unpleasant.

‘It’s alright; I won’t have to deal with him anymore.’

After all, he was just a pretentious jerk, and he likely packed up to leave before facing more humiliation from the expulsion notice.

‘Let’s just focus on the tasks for tomorrow!’

She thought that ignoring such a guy would be the best course of action.
