A Song of Sun and Stars [Man of Steel x ASOIAF]

Chapter : Pylos!

Hey! A lot of people have been asking why Pylos was being so off putting, and all around asshole in the last chapter.

Well, several reasons.

He feels jealous, but that's just surface level. He also felt left out, abandoned and lonely when Caelum suddenly up and left with Marwyn.

I had stated earlier, the citadel has cliques, friend groups and such, well not so much in so many words. But what had happened is all the highborn kids banded together, the lowborns stuck out for a little while, but left due to pressure.

Not many common folk come to the citadel either way. Too far from home for most, what with being the only centre of learning in the Kingdoms. Those that do are generally sons of wealthy merchants, traders etc.

People like Caelum, Pylos etc are rare. Them doing well at the citadel even more so.

Perhaps I should have expanded on that, apart from a couple lines in the last chapter.

Either way, Pylos' friend circle was Nerf, who clearly was flaky since the beginning, always running off after hours of the citadel, Yandel who's famous at the citadel for being a foundling favored by the Archmaesters, but also extremely busy most of the time and Caelum.

He expected Caelum to stick through with him. What with them having similar backgrounds, and dreams. Though Pylos is the son of a hedge knight.

Caelum didn't though, circumstances. He didn't understand but he dealt with it. He was happy when Caelum returned, again I showed that when Pylos brightened out of his lazy stupor during the tests.

But the camel's back was broken when Caelum announced he was not staying afterall.

Neither of them planned on becoming full maesters, sure. But he wanted a friend through till the end of acolyte-hood.

Caelum on the other hand is leaving. And he did better than Pylos at everything.

Hence, bitchiness.

He was souring and self sabotaging his friendship with Caelum deliberately so that when Caelum left, it wouldn't hurt.
