Chapter 54
As Ace instructed Horobi and Jin to take a break, he patiently anticipated Ark to complete the compilation of the information obtained from the Hydra agents. By his side, Izu, his loyal assistant, graciously served him a cup of tea as they waited for the crucial information.
“Have some Hojicha Ace-sama. It should make you feel relaxed.”
“Thank you, Izu.” As Ace sipped the tea, the delightful aroma and rich flavor washed over him, bringing a sense of calm to his tense body. He found solace in the tea's comforting embrace, especially after witnessing the brutal torture inflicted upon the Hydra agents by Horobi and Jin.
“How is that tea?” Izu asked.
“It is perfect, Izu.”
“You’re welcome, Ace-sama.” Izu bows, happy Ace is delighted with his tea.
After a few tense moments, Ark completed compiling the information. “Ace-sama, I have completed compiling the information.”
“Thank you, Ark. Now let’s see what we have.”
Upon reviewing the data, Ace was stunned to realize that Hydra posed an even greater threat than he had initially anticipated. The information revealed the presence of hundreds of Hydra sleeper agents embedded within SHIELD personnel, many of whom held high-level positions with significant authority. What's more concerning is that some of these agents were integrated into influential companies, organizations, governments, and various other sectors worldwide. This revelation only scratched the surface, and Ace suspects that Hydra's reach extends into many more areas beyond what was initially uncovered.
“They are more dangerous than I thought. It won’t be enough just to expose and take them down.”
“What should we do, Ace-sama?” asked Izu.
“I don’t know. I can’t take the whole organization down myself. Their reach is too deep.”
Ace contemplated how to confront Hydra's looming threat. He realized that delaying action would only invite further confrontation from the organization. He also feared that Peter and Gwen might become targets. Then, he recalled the phone Fury had given him for emergencies. In Ace's mind, there was no doubt that if anyone could handle Hydra, it was Nick Fury.
Ace reached for the phone, his hand trembling slightly as he dialed Fury's number. The ringtone echoed through the room, each chime feeling like an eternity before Fury finally picked up.
“I’m guessing you got into some trouble, Kamen Rider. Mind telling me what it is?” said Fury.
Ace scoffs at Fury’s sarcasm. “It is quite funny, actually. I was actually attacked by SHIELD agents.”
“What?” Fury was confused.
Ace enjoys Fury being confused. The king of spies is baffled. “You heard me right. SHIELD agents attacked me, and they also said they were under your orders. They first tried to recruit me, but when I refused, they resulted in capturing me by force.”
“That’s impossible. I did not give that order.”
“Then how could you explain the dozens of SHIELD agents I’m currently having captive? There is no doubt SHIELD agents were the ones who attacked me. One was even a super-powered being, although he got away.”
“You have SHIELD agents captive!?”
“Hey, they attacked first, you know. I couldn’t leave them out on the streets, so I brought them to my base to keep them captive.”
Fury got a massive headache. SHIELD agents attacked the Kamen Rider without him knowing. He thinks about who could have given the order. After a few seconds, he could think of one possibility: Hydra.
“I am sure I did not give the order. Hydra is the only one I think of who could pull off this kind of operation.”
Ace smirks and stops playing. “And here I thought you would never have gotten it.”
“You knew?”
“I had them interrogated. They are currently not in a good state. My friends did some nasty things to get information out from them.”
“How much did you get from them?”Fury is extremely keen on acquiring any intel related to Hydra, especially if it originates from a source within the Hydra organization. Such information could provide invaluable insights into the workings and structure of the organization.
“I would say everything. Although, they are only grunts for Hydra. They don’t know a lot of the important details, but just by looking at the information. Their reach is deep. That is why I called you. They are already going after me. Letting them run freely would only annoy me in the long term.”
“So you want my help to deal with Hydra, but judging by your tone. Hydra won’t be so easily dealt with.” Fury said
“You’re right. Getting rid of them won’t be easy. But when is getting rid of an organization ever is.”
“I’ll help. I will need the information you got from those sleeper agents.”
“I’ll give them to you when we meet.”
“Just so you know. This will be a small team. The resources and manpower I can gather in this short amount of time would be small.”
“I’m fine with that. The smaller the team the more manageable anyway.”
“That’s good. Having you on board will make things so much easier.” said Fury.
“Just be sure there will be no secrets, Fury. I'm not your soldier.” Ace said seriously.
“Fine, I'll text you the location where we will meet tomorrow. Make sure you're not followed and if you can bring those Hydra agents along. I want to interrogate them myself.”
“Alright.”
Ace hung up the phone and looked at Izu. “I’m sure you heard everything, Izu. Do we have a way to bring our captives?”
“We have a spare truck in the company. We can use that to transport them without drawing attention.”
“Then let’s do that. Please prepare the truck.”
“Yes, Ace-sama.” Izu bows and leaves to do what Ace asks.
Ace glances at the data displayed on the screen, a steely resolve entering his gaze. Facing off against Hydra will undoubtedly be a daunting challenge, but Ace's voice rings with determination as he remains unwavering in his belief that he possesses the necessary skill and determination to emerge victorious against them.
“Hydra, just you wait. You will regret making me your enemy.”
