...

After thinking about my father for a few minutes, I had finally reached the loop without realizing it.

"Well, let's go there. Let's see what adventures await me today on the other side" – I said with encouragement.

My heart was pounding and my head was full of expectations. Despite not being the first day, I still get excited as if it were the first. I love living in this world and this happiness... It's something I never thought I'd find. Once again, I thank the God of Deals for reincarnating me into this world. Even if he has other reasons like watching me and stuff, it's a small price to pay for everything he's done for me.

With that said, and without delaying another second, I entered the loop in search of new adventures.

In the other side it was a splendid day. Well, it was always the same weather actually, so it's not worth describing the day much, since it's always September 3, 1940th; A sunny day and perfect for going to the beach.

There, waiting as she circled, was Emma.

"Good morning" – I greeted.

Listening to me, Emma looked at me.

"Good morning, you're a bit late" – Emma said.

This girl...

"Well, I think I arrived at the same time as yesterday" – I said shrugging my shoulders.

In fact, I was sure because before entering I looked the hour on my phone, so I have no doubt that I arrived at the same time as yesterday.

"Either way it doesn't matter. We have a lot of day ahead" – Emma said.

"Yesterday you said that today it was going to be just you and me. Do you have anything ready?" – I asked curiously.

"Of course. I spent the whole night planning it!" – Emma said.

Then, she bent down and I could see how she picked up a small basket and a rolled tablecloth.

"We're going to go on a picnic today!" – Emma exclaimed.

"What, really?" – I asked surprised.

"Any problem?" – Emma asked.

"No, it's just... I didn't know you liked picnics" – I said.

"Well, I like them. From time to time we do and I have even gone alone from time to time. Listening to the sounds of nature while eating is... just great" – Emma nodded.

Wow, I never would have imagined it. It seems that even the temperamental Emma has a soft side.

Suddenly and once again, that feeling of freshness filled my body. However, it didn't even last a second and the memories I got are negligible.

Apparently, in the movie, Olive took Jacob to the sunken ship just as she did with me, while Emma (in the books), does exactly the same thing but in a different way. Don't you find it curious to discover facets of the characters that are not shown in the books?

"Here, bring the tablecloth. I'll carry the basket" – Emma said.

Then, she gave me the tablecloth which I gladly picked up.

"Come on, follow me. I'll take you to my favorite place. I'm sure you'll like it" – Emma said with a smile.

Well, she must like that place because since I arrived. I hardly saw her smile (even in the books).

"Is something wrong?" – Emma asked curiously.

Jacob had stared at her face for a few seconds, which surprised her.

"No... It's just that your smile makes you look more beautiful than you already are. Why don't you smile more often?" – I said unconsciously.

I swear I didn't mean to say those words, but it was like I couldn't control my lips and I expressed my feelings out loud by accident.

"F-Fool, follow me and stop talking nonsense!" – Emma exclaimed.

Then, she turned and started walking quite fast.

"Wait" – I said as I walked behind her.

Emma guided me through a small forest that was near the orphanage. We continue walking for several minutes. But it didn't get too boring because the views were quite beautiful and animals like squirrels scampered through the trees.

"There are no wild animals here. There are usually only a few rabbits and squirrels. There are also wild cats. Although they are not very numerous" - Emma explained.

"Just that? So, where do you get all the food?" – I asked curiously.

It's funny, days before we have had animals for dinner that Emma has not mentioned. Where do these animals come from if not from the forest?

"Well, we bought them in the butcher's shop in the village. We may be in the year 1940s, but butcher shops exist" - Emma explained.

Wait a minute, if that's true, then...

"Don't you hunt them?" – I asked curiously.

"Hunt them, are we in prehistory or something?" – Emma said confused.

Why would they have to hunt animals when they could buy them in the village? It doesn't make any sense.

I see. Olive lied to me.

"And where do you get the necessary money?" – I asked again.

"We have infinite money, so to speak. We buy something at the store and since the next day the day resets, the money goes back to where it was the day before" - Emma explained.

That's the definition of infinite money! They buy in the village butcher shop with the money they have, but as the day restarts, the money reappears in the orphanage. As if it had never been used. Incredible.

"Ehem, anyway this forest is quite beautiful, unlike the Cairnholm forest of the present" – I said.

"Yes... I don't know why the weather is so bad on the other side... although it probably is here too. But since we always live on the same day, we always have a sunny day. In fact, Miss Peregrine chose this day on purpose.

I guess even in the Cairnholm of the past, good weather is not very frequent. But even so, Miss Peregrine waited until one day it was sunny to do the loop. But that makes me ask another question. Is it a coincidence that on Cairnholm's only sunny day the Germans attack the area? I guess it's a coincidence, but still... be vigilant every day to restart the day before the bomb falls and kills everyone... it must be hard.

"Look, we're there" – Emma said suddenly.

Without realizing it, we had come to what appeared to be a small clearing that sat next to a cliff. However, being right in front of a cliff has its advantages. For example, the view was beautiful. From where we were you could see the sea perfectly and as the sun shone in all its splendor. The view was simply wonderful.

"What do you think? This is my favorite place to go for a picnic" – Emma said proudly.

"I must admit it. Indeed, this place is beautiful and the views of the sea are incredible" – I nodded.

It was a beautiful landscape. Worth taking a photo. Too bad my phone doesn't work. Otherwise this would have been a beautiful wallpaper.

"I knew you would like it" – Emma said with a smile.

Next, we spread the tablecloth and put the basket on top of it. Then it was our turn to sit and enjoy the views while we ate the appetizers that Emma had prepared. What Emma brought was what we could call a snack. A little bread with meat inside. Under normal conditions this was a normal snack, but eating it while watching these views and having a beautiful girl by your side... The sandwich tastes much better than normal.

Eating alone is not as good as eating with a beautiful girl. Always keep that in mind.

"Emma, I have a question" – I said.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"Is life hard here?" – I asked curiously.

"Of course not" - she denied.

"And it's not hard to live the same day for dozens of years without being able to go out?" – I asked.

"Ah... well. At first it's hard, but then you get used to it" – Emma replied.

"I see" – I nodded.

"I won't lie to you though. Many times I have dreamed of leaving Cairnholm and seeing the world around us. Visit other cities, other loops. It would be just wonderful" – Emma said with a dreamy tone.

"And why don't you do it? I mean, as long as you don't go back to the present, you won't get old. You can visit other loops without problems" – I said calmly.

"I can't. I owe a lot to Miss Peregrine. She was the one who saved me when I needed help. I can't abandon her like that" - she said.

For a moment, I felt bad for my parents. They had also helped me a lot over the years, they had showered me with love and affection and now I was thinking of abandoning them... I'm just a shitty person.

"Emma. Do you think I'm a bad person for abandoning my parents to stay and live with you?" – I asked curiously.

I have never been able to get rid of that doubt on my own. But maybe with help I can.

"It's a tough question, Jacob. It's true that you have a family outside that loves you. But I want you to keep in mind something I'm going to tell you" – Emma said.

"What?" – I asked curiously.

"We may have known you for just a few days. But we all think of you as part of our family. Just keep that in mind if you ever change your mind and decide to leave. Here you will always have another family that loves you more than you think" – she said with a smile.

My heart was pounding and I was surprised at her words.

"Why do you consider me part of your family? I have only known you for a few days and you do not know me" – I said.

I always wondered how they can treat me with such kindness despite only knowing me for a few days.

"That's where you go wrong. It doesn't matter how many days we've known you for. From the first day we saw you, we judged you and we all agreed on one thing that same night" – Emma said.

"What?" – I asked anxiously.

"That you are a good person. A kind person and that is enough for us to trust you and earn our trust. It's not because you're Abe's grandson. It's because you're Jacob. That reason may seem ridiculous to you, but it's the truth" - Emma said.
