Have a good day :)

...

Happy and full of energy, I headed straight for the loop with high expectations. What was going to happen today? Just thinking about it, my body trembles with excitement and my adrenaline increases considerably. After all, there are endless possibilities.

That said, I crossed the loop and on the other side I met Emma and Olive, who seemed to have been waiting for my arrival.

"You're late!" – Emma exclaimed.

"Good morning to you too" – I said calmly.

"Good morning, Jacob. Emma also wanted to greet you but was very impatient with your arrival. She has been waiting for you here for quite some time" – said Olive.

"That's a lie. I just arrived!" – Emma quickly denied.

But her face looked quite flushed.

"Besides, you've been there for quite some time too. What's more, when I arrived, you were already standing here!" – Emma exclaimed.

Olive blushed at these words as well.

"I think you got confused. I arrived much later than you" – said Olive.

"Liar!" – Emma exclaimed.

The two seemed to be engaged in what seemed to be a heated argument about who had arrived first or after, but... I had to interrupt their conversation. After all, there are many things to do and only one day to do it.

"Ehem, I don't want to interrupt your pleasant conversation, but... Emma seemed to be in quite a hurry before" – I commented.

In fact, she seemed to be in a hurry for some incomprehensible reason and since my memories were sealed, I was curious to know what that rush was about.

"That's right. Come on, everyone is waiting for you!" – Emma said.

"For what?" – I asked curiously.

"It's a surprise. Come on" – said Olive.

They both grabbed my hands and pulled me as if they wanted me to hurry. But the reality is that I didn't even have time to start walking before they grabbed my hands.

When I arrived, in the beautiful garden, there was a small improvised stage.

"Jacob has arrived, everyone to their spots!" – Millard exclaimed.

"Quickly!" – Hugh exclaimed.

They all nodded and took their respective places. Although the truth is that I have no idea why they said that if simply the only thing that happened was that Emma went on stage while the rest of us (myself included), sat on small chairs placed in front of the improvised stage.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we present to you the peculiar children and their great powers!" – Emma exclaimed.

I don't want to bore you with unnecessary details, but basically it was a performance where everyone went on stage to show off their powers to the audience. Emma her fire control, Olive her ability to float like helium, Bronwyn her huge strenght, Fiona her ability to grow any plant in seconds, Hugh and his bees which were lodged in his mouth, Millard and his invisibility (although all he did was take off his clothes and walk around the stage completely naked, so no one saw anything), Horace and his projections, Claire and her hind mouth, Enoch and his ability to give life to inanimate objects and, finally, the twins with strange masks who, since they could not remove their masks without us being in mortal danger, they juggled It was quite entertaining because they could even pass objects from one to the other without stopping juggling and without dropping any object.

And so, after an hour or so, the show of the peculiar children ended.

"What do you think?" – Emma asked as soon as she finished.

Everyone seemed expectant at Jacob's answer, wanting to see what Jacob thought of his peculiarities.

"It was the most incredible thing I've ever seen!" – I exclaimed excitedly.

It was authentic emotion. An emotion that I only felt when I reincarnated into this world or when I used my water peculiarity for the first time, the reason? Because I saw people with powers in real life and they're not special effects like in the movies, they're authentic! Can you imagine how exciting it is to see people with these powers in the flesh? Because it's amazing!

"Did you see that? I told you this morning that there was no need to be nervous, Mr. Portman loved the performance. As I have told you numerous times today" – said Miss Peregrine.

I didn't mention her, but she had been sitting behind me the entire performance, watching her pupils without looking away.

Hearing Jacob's words, everyone rejoiced. Even Enoch cracked a small smile.

"Well, I don't want to be a killjoy, but now we have to pick everything up. Then, you can do whatever you want" – commented Miss Peregrine.

We all nodded and started to order. Even I helped because, although I had not participated in all this, I could not sit and see as the others work and I was sitting there doing nothing.

After half an hour, everything was back in their place and the garden was completely clear, just as I saw it yesterday.

"Well, now that everything is in order, you can do whatever you want. I have things to do, but I'm sure you'll like to hang out with Mr. Portman, at least some of you" - said Miss Peregrine with a small smile.

Then, she left, leaving us all behind.

"Hey, I have an idea! What do you think if we show Jacob the island?" – Emma suggested once Miss Peregrine had left.

"I think it's an excellent idea" - Olive nodded.

"Yes, then we can clear our heads a bit" – Bronwyn nodded.

"I'm going too. It's been a while since I've walked around town!" – Claire added.

"I have some free time until the evening, so I'll go too..." - Fiona said.

"And the others?" – Emma asked.

"I have to keep practicing. I'm afraid I can't accompany you to what will undoubtedly be a pleasant evening without incidents" – said Enoch.

And without waiting for someone to tell him something, he left. However, no one seemed surprised or cared that he left, as they seemed to be used to it.

"I would like to go, but... I have to keep writing my book" – Horace said.

"Hmm, what book?" – I asked curiously.

"That's a very good question. It's a book I've been working on for a long time. In it, I write the point of view of all people and animals during a single day. That is, everything they have done during September 3th, 1940!" – Horace said proudly.

"Oh, that's... How long did it take you to write it?" – I asked curiously.

"He hasn't finished it yet and he's been working on it for 27 years and hasn't even finished researching sheep" - Millard said.

"27 years is a long time" – I said surprised.

But since they have all the time in the world... I guess 27 years is nothing to them.

"Making a masterpiece that will be remembered forever takes time and I want to do it well. I don't want to make any mistakes!" – Horace said.

Then, he said goodbye to us and went to work on your book.

"And you, are you coming?" – Emma asked again.

"I can't, today I promised my bees that I would let them pollinate the flowers that Fiona grew, but next time I'll go with you, I promise" – Hugh said.

"Ok, it will be in another time. And you, Millard?" – Emma said.

Millard looked around and realized something. Currently they all seemed to have some kind of interest in Jacob. That's why they all offered to go with him, even Fiona who normally never left the orphanage had accepted without hesitation. If he now agreed to go with them... wasn't it like meddling in something he shouldn't? Besides, he wouldn't feel comfortable knowing that the girls only wanted to go with Jacob and that he was the third wheel (although the girls would never admit it, of course). So he simply refused.

"I'm sorry, I have things to do today. But as Hugh said, next time I'll be with you" – Millard said.

Then, he took off his clothes and disappeared (literally).

"Then we are alone. Come on, Jacob" – Emma said.

And so, the group made up of me, Emma, Olive, Bronwyn, Claire, Fiona and the twins, we headed towards the village.

The tour of the village was going quite well and the truth is that apart from the horse-drawn carts that went from here to there. The Cairnholm of the past was not so different from the one of the present, perhaps even the streets were in better condition in the past than in the present.

"What do you think?" – Olive asked on the way.

"It's very... rural" – I said.

"Yes, I guess it's different from the present. After all... How many years have passed?" – Olive said.

"76 years to be exact. In my time it's 2016 and here it's 1940, so 76 years" – I said.

"76 years... incredible how time flies" – said Claire in amazement.

They all agreed on the same thing.

It was incredible to think that on the other side of the loop it was 2016 and here it was the year 1940.

We continue walking through the Cairnholm of 76 years ago and explore different places. The only bad thing is that we attracted people's gazes a lot. Many looked at the girls because their beauty attracted them naturally, it was impossible to take their eyes off them, while many others fixed their eyes on me, surely because of the clothes I was wearing, which were completely different from the ones they wore at this time.

"They are looking at us a lot. Should I have worn the same clothes as yesterday?" – I asked curiously.

"No, you're fine that way. You didn't need to change your clothes at all" - Bronwyn said.

"Are you sure about that? I think we are attracting too much attention" – I commented.

"Don't worry. Anyway, tomorrow they won't remember what they saw today" – Fiona said.

"Good point" – I nodded.

Since the day would restart tonight, no one would remember the beautiful girls and the boy who wore strange clothes and who had walked around the village that very day.
