A ninja who is always hungry

Chapter 1: Rob's Apology

"Where am I? I remember being at home, watching a marathon of my favorite movies, and suddenly, I heard a loud noise before everything went dark."

But as he looked around, there was no trace of the supposed darkness. It was a square room, so perfectly white that it didn't seem natural at all. While trying to get his bearings and understand what was happening, a white flare erupted in the middle of the room, and a human-shaped, featureless white silhouette emerged from it.

"Hello, Tony. I am…"

"Groot?"

The room fell silent for a few moments at the abrupt interruption before it began to shake with the laughter of the white figure.

"That was bad, really bad, but I have a soft spot for that kind of humor," the figure said as it wiped away a fictitious tear. "Anyway, let's start over. I'm Rob."

"Holy shit!" Tony shouted. "You're Rob? Then, am I dead?" He then realized something was off. "Wait a second, I didn't die from a truck, I shouldn't know you."

"To answer your first question, yes, you're dead. And I must apologize, but yes, you did die from a truck."

"What do you mean?"

"It's a long story, so I'll try to give you a summary. I made a bet with someone that you would spend the weekend safely, while the other party bet that they could take you out using a truck."

"You used my life in a bet?"

"I don't usually gamble with this kind of thing, I find it disrespectful to small creatures like you," he added. "But this time, the bet seemed like a sure thing. You live on the top floor of a twenty-four-story building, the elevator broke down due to poor maintenance, the doorbell stopped working, you had a pantry full of food, you didn't need any daily supplies like toilet paper, they were doing a marathon of your favorite movies and shows, your phone ran out of battery, and the list goes on. In other words, there wasn't a single reason for you to go out, and you should have had a very peaceful weekend."

"How did I die then?" Tony asked, confused. "How the hell did a truck kill me twenty-four stories up?"

"It fell on you."

"…I repeat, how is that possible?"

"Okay, maybe my answer was too concise," Rob admitted. "I didn't think there was a way for it to happen either, but I didn't expect the other party to be so creative. They used a cargo plane to transport some vehicles, and just as it was flying near your house, the compartment opened by 'accident,' and a truck plummeted toward you with amazing precision."

"You've got to be kidding me," Tony gaped at the revelation.

"I was pissed when I found out too," Rob said. "Isn't that cheating?"

"Really?" Tony looked at Rob with a blank stare. "You're more worried about them cheating than my life?"

"Well, if they hadn't done that, technically, you'd still be alive…" Rob averted his gaze, embarrassed.

"Let's leave that aside," Tony sighed wearily. "What's going to happen to me now?"

"Right, I almost forgot," Rob did a facepalm. "Even though I lost the bet, I feel bad about what happened to you, so after discussing it with some friends, I'm going to do something that I know you humans love. I'll send you to another world with perks!"

"Really?" Tony's eyes lit up at the prospect of being an OP transmigrator. "Can I choose the world? Or what perks will I have?"

"Of course… not," Rob replied. "Don't look at me like that! After your death, I reviewed your life many times and know that you've often dreamed about this. And in all of them, your perks aren't revealed until you arrive in the other world, so be patient. I'm completely sure you'll be happy with what you get."

"As sure as you were that I wouldn't die?" Tony asked suspiciously.

"Ahem! Wow, look how late it's gotten!" Rob exclaimed as he looked at one of the blank walls, and an analog clock appeared out of nowhere. "I think I should send you on your way now. Good luck, Tony!" He stomped on the ground, and a circular opening appeared beneath Tony, causing him to fall into the void while screaming.

…Somewhere in another world…

A young man lying in the grass in a field began to stir as he regained consciousness and opened his eyes. He sat up abruptly and looked around cautiously.

"Even if he wanted to surprise me with the perks, he should have at least told me which world he sent me to," seeing that no one was around, he relaxed a bit and began to examine himself. "It seems like my body is very similar to when I was younger," he lifted his pants slightly and looked down. "Not bad, I know what my first perk is," he nodded in satisfaction. "Now, how should I try to figure out my powers?"

[Ding! The host has received a newbie package from Rob. Would you like to open it?]

"OMG! I have a System?" But before getting too excited, he took a deep breath and tried to calm down. "Let's not jump to conclusions, let's first see what this package is. System, open it!"

[Ding! The host has obtained a mysterious Devil Fruit (without weaknesses).]

"A Devil Fruit? And without weaknesses?!" Tony's eyes widened. "Am I in One Piece? No, wait. Many times, Systems give things from other worlds; it doesn't mean I'm actually in that world. System, what model of fruit is it?"

[Ding! The host has received a note from Rob. Would you like to open it?]

"Maybe he realized he forgot to tell me something? Let's see the note."

[Hello, Tony! Knowing you, you're probably going to ask what kind of Devil Fruit it is before deciding whether to eat it or not. But where's the fun in that? I remind you that the fruit no longer has weaknesses, so show a little courage! By the way, the System won't activate unless you eat the fruit, but hey, it's still your choice~]

A vein popped on Tony's forehead after reading the note, but after thinking about it for a bit, he realized Rob was right. The fruit didn't have weaknesses, so as long as it wasn't a bad power, he could always choose whether or not to use it later.

"System, give me the fruit."

In front of Tony, a translucent shadow of a strange fruit materialized and slowly gained substance until it became real. He looked at it curiously, because sometimes the appearance of the fruit gives hints about the type of power it contains, but he couldn't recognize it. He steeled himself for a few moments before mustering the courage to take a bite and swallow.

"Well?"
