I hope they get along
It was strange.
I was sure that my new pet wolf was a reincarnated girl or something like that, judging from her strange actions yesterday.
But right now, I was not so sure anymore.
"Woof, Woof, Woof." Kurumi barked as she ran around the park with great speed and agility. It was like she was finally free after being chained down for a long time.
Her body was already covered in dirt even though I had just bathe her yesterday and she was going crazy right now.
Oh, and yes. Wolves can bark like a dog. I was confused at first but after a quick google search I learned that apparently, wolves also bark.
Though it was mostly when they were young and later on they opted to howling as it was a better form of communication.
Her barking has helped me in more ways than one. People were scared at first due to Kurumi's size and clearly wilder teeth and build.
I had claimed that she was just a special breed of dog that looked like a wolf and her barking and acting like a dog backed up my claim nicely.
So we got into no problem and animal control did not come to ask some questions.
It was early in the morning and right now, we were at the same park where I had learned my sun breathing. There were already some people in the park as it was not that early in the morning anymore.
When I woke up this morning, I found Kurumi snuggling close to me and I had decided that I would take her for a walk.
Though I found out a strange thing. Kurumi was acting exactly like how you would expect a normal animal.
She no longer showed those humane reactions and behaviour like she did the day before and instead behaved normally.
This greatly confused me and made me suspect my earlier suspicions about her.
And no, I am pretty sure she was not acting because just this morning, she peed infront of me during our walk.
I was pretty sure someone who was shy when I bathe them will not wake up the next day and have the ability to pee right infront of me with a straight face.
Thus, I was more or less convinced that she was actually a 'real' wolf and my earlier suspicion was just me being paranoid and delusional.
Thinking back on it now, I find it quite embarrassing. I really had a wild imagination.
{Yeah, you were so delusional.} the author commented and laughed.
The audacity of this guy. He was the one who suggested the idea by comparing my situation with the anime 'My life as Inukai-san's dog'.
Now he was acting as if he had nothing to do with it and even had the shamelessness to laugh at me.
{I was trolling you. I just couldn't believe you looked at a wolf and immediately believed it has a past life.}
Sure he was.
I didn't feel like interacting with such a shameless person. It could be contagious and I wanted nothing to do with it.
{Oof.}
"Kurumi!! Let's go home now!!" I called out and she immediately stopped chasing after the butterfly she was chasing and ran towards me.
"Good girl." I said and patted her head when she reached me.
Our house was quite far from the park so we needed to get back early.
"How about I race you home? Winner get to gloat about their victory." I said and Kurumi spun to say that she agreed.
Such a smart wolf.
She was a very large and powerful animal so it will not be easy to win against her. I will take it as a form of training to compensate for my actual training which I skipped because of her.
"Ready!!!" I said and immediately began sprinting. I was tricking her and playing dirty to get ahead because why the hell not. It was a fun and playful thing to do.
I covered around 20 meters before I noticed that she was not following me. I stopped running and turned back.
I saw her in the same position. She was getting ready to sprint too but she did not move as I had not given her permission.
"ugh." I grimaced, feeling a bit bad. Another thing I noticed about Kurumi was that she was very obdient.
She followed every words and commands I give. She always acted as if she would obey literally any orders I give her.
Anything.
I ran back and with a sigh I crouched down next to her. I patted her head again because she was obedient.
"Good girl. Sorry I wa-" I didn't even finish my sentence before Kurumi bolted away from her position.
I just stayed there, crouching and facing away from the direction of my house.
.
.
.
"She tricked me...."
A wolf fucking tricked me.
Damnit!!!
"You!!!" I screamed and inhale huge amounts of air before sprinting behind her. She had gained a huge distance and I think I heard her laughing at me.
The average human can run up to 12 miles per hour while the average wolf can reach a speed up to 38 miles per hour.
The difference in speed was apparent in these observations.
But I will not lose!! Speed was my forte afterall.
And when I catch up to her, I will tickle the shit out of her. How dare she trick me.
With those thoughts, me and my new pet wolf ran all the way home. I think I understand how pet owners feel a bit now.
It was fun.

[After a while]
"You- you cheated." I blurt out amongst my haggard and rapid breaths. Sweats were trailing down from my body as my legs trembled slightly now and then to show the consequence of working them to the limit suddenly and without break.
Kurumi was near the door of our house. She was laying on her back while her feet hung in the air. Her tongue was out and she looked absolutely exhausted.
But there was this slight smile on her face.
I shook my head at that and controlled my breathing. I breathe in and out with a specific pattern and I noticed how my lungs processed the oxygen more efficiently and rapidly sent them to my sore muscles.
In but a few seconds, the tiredness on my body began evaporating and my breathing was extremely big and heavy but not rapid anymore.
I had avoided using the sun breathing while we were running to train my endurance. It was a neat skill but I still needed to improve my base stats as well.
I sat on the ground and felt the blades of grass poke my butt and legs. I heaved a huge sigh before my breathing became normal again.
Kurumi stayed unmoving for a few more minutes before she got on all fours and dragged her tired body towards me.
"Oi, I am not pampering a cheater." I told her but they were only hot air. She invaded my personal space as if she owned it before plopping on my lap.
It had only been a day yet I felt like we already have this deep connection between us. I saved her life so it was natural for her to like me but I was not sure about me.
Maybe it is a connection you formed with someone after you have put you life in dager for said someone.
Who knows and who cares? All I knew was I have a special connection with this cunning wolf.
Truly she lived up to her name and reputation.
"Bad girl." I said and she responded with strange growls and moans. Like she was denying being a bad girl.
My hands got to work as I rubbed her soft and gorgeous fur. I started from her head, slowly trailing down her tail before my hands finally settled on rubbing her ear.
*sniff* * sniif* *sniif*
Meanwhile, Kurumi was busy taking in the smell of my sweat. At least that's what it felt like.
One thing I noticed was that she really liked my scent and would take eager whiffs at me whenever she could. I think it was due to my incubus race or something but right now, I am just taking it as her love language.
Kurumi quickly got greedy and like a drug addict, she moved her nose closer and closer to my body and took desperate sniffs. Specifically on my underarms and my chest.
I chuckled, "Stop it. It tickles." I said and pushed her away. She was determined though, and it quickly turned into a play fight where she got on top of me while I pushed her away before she got too close.
Then I heard the door fo the house opening to reveal a beautiful Sumire who wore an apron while carrying a giant spoon in her hand.
"You seem to be enjoying yourself." Her melodious and mature voice easily traveled the distance and buried themselves inside my ear. Tickling my nerves and my male instincts.
Her eyes moved from me to Kurumi and me to Kurumi and me to Kurumi before she finally showed a smile which was a mixture of helplessness and acceptance.
"You like your new pet?" She asked.
I pulled Kurumi's head and put it on my chest, "Of course" I said and Kurumi howled in agreement.
Sumire laughed and told me to clean up. She said I should stop playing around since I still have school.
And I did.
.
.
Breakfast was the same as every morning except for the new addition. Kurumi ate the same breakfast and I didn't see the need to buy other foods for her.
I mean, I am not sure they sell wolf food in the pet shop. And I also didn't think she would eat dog food.
So the choice was raw meat or the normal breakfast she seemed to enjoy and the choice was simple enough.
After breakfast I left for school. But not peacefully.
It was the first time Sumire and Kurumi would be alone in the house. I was curious and also equally scared about what would happen while I am gone.
They didn't seem to get along afterall.
Or more like they were both wary of each other.
I hope they get along.
I think both of them will not be lonely if they get along.
