A girl I would always catch
I was walking towards my school and as I did, I was also looking at my phone.
It has become a habit to check on my phone everyday, waiting for another email from the man, Joe Rogan.
I had expressed my interest in joining the UFC and having an opportunity right after I read his email, but so far I have not gotten a reply.
Though I was sure that I reached him. Maybe they were discussing about what to do next with me.
Even though I didn't receive my anticipated email, I did not put away my phone and instead surfed through the social media.
Specifically looking up stuff about me.
It was 2017 so the main social media platform was Facebook and I read some post which was about me.
Some were pictures of me and some were short clips of me fighting and overall just existing.
There was even a video of me walking to school.
My fans are creepy.
And yes, I have a fan club in Facebook. Crazy~ right?
'But then again, I definitely have the face of someone who deserve such a thing.' I thought to myself while looking at my reflection on the windows of the buildings I walked pass.
I was so dashing. umu.
I was only average in looks in my past life so I knew exactly how handsome and amazing I was. I was able to truly beheld my own beauty.
{Fuuuuuuck~ There he goes again..}
My nose was sharp and defined, it gave this wonderful edge to my face. I had an angular and defined jawline but not too much, yet they were visible from every angle.
My eyebrows were like swords and people who laughed at my statement and call it chinese had obviously never witnessed such a handsome man.
My eyes were the best part of my face. Purple eyes that were more like a gem than eyes. They were wide yet at the same time retaining that cat like shape which gave me a smoking glare.
The shape of my face was so perfect that I was afraid that many men might question their own sexuality.
.
.
I continued my narcissistic train of thought through the journey to my school. Not because I was actually that impressed with my looks but just for the heck of it.
Reaching the school, I was actually on time. I quickly made my way to my classroom and when I entered it, I noticed the two girls - Marin and Komi - having an awkward stare down with each other.
When they heard the sound of the door sliding open, they immediately looked towards me. Komi turned into an excited kitty while Marin had the face of someone seeing her saviour.
"Yuito!!~" Marin said while running to me with her eyes closed. I think I saw tears falling down from them but nothing serious.
I could tell that they were crocodile tears.
She came to me and before reaching me, she launched herself at me by leaping in the air. Seemingly fully trusting that I would catch her, her body showed no indication that she could possibly fall.
She probably thought I would always catch her. She probably thought there was no danger with me around.
It was not the best time but I froze right then.
Golden strands of hair that scattered around like sunlight. It reminded of the first time I met her.
It was a funny feeling that was currently boiling in my chest. It was just like this, that she suddenly fell into my life and become an important part of it.
At that time I was very much down in my life even if I had acted otherwise. I remembered promising myself to stay away from girls and love at that time.
But she came in and her existence said 'I don't think so.'
I didn't even realize it then since she was so sneaky but she completely healed me. Her smile truly was contagious.
The boy who wished to stay away from love was now planning a whole ass operation to make her fall for me.
Truly, she was a special girl.
A girl I would make sure to always catch.
I finally moved and caught her falling body, her face crashed on my chest and my arms wrapped around her. Then I moved in a way to disperse the force behind her leap.
"Marin?" I called as she breathe heavily in my chest. She took a while to calm down, then she looked up.
Her pink eyes sparkled with life when she saw me. wow.
"Yuito. Even though I promised to be best friends with Komi she is bullying me!!" She whined to me.
I raised an eyebrow and looked towards Komi and she shook when my eyes landed on her before she looked down shyly.
"What happened?" I asked curiously while walking towards my seat with Marin.
After that, I got to learn what happened.
Apparently Marin brought playing cards with her and invited Komi to play a game. Such a stupid idea by the way.
As they played, Marin had absolutely no way to read Komi's perfect poker face so she lost terribly. Multiple times.
It seemed that Marin lost too much and too helplessly that she was traumatized.
I laughed when I learned about it and Marin pouted before asking me to take revenge for her.
And I did.
With my skill [Komi's language] which had upgraded to intermediate at this point, it was extremely easy to read Komi.
Very much easier than reading a normal person. At least for me.
And just like what she did to Marin, I absolutely defeated her. She lost so bad that by the end it was straight up bullying and she ended up crying crocodile tears pitifully.
Just like Marin.
Then Marin immediately hugged her and scolded me about being mean to Komi and how I could bully such a sweet girl
Turning me into the main villain as the two girls hugged each other.
I knew they were just being silly but I couldn't help but smile the whole time. The other students also smiled when they saw our interactions.
It was...fun.
And time passes quickly when it was fun.
Days passed and we continued hanging out together. The three of us.
We build connections so deep that it felt weird how we had spent the rest of our life away from each other.
I have three friends now.
I also continued my training with great intensity. I was trying to be strong.
Stronger. For what I did not exactly know. But I was getting stronger.
I need to get stronger.
Days seemed to quickly slip away from my grasps. I hated that good days moved so fast.
But good days often lead to the worst day.
Two weeks later, me and Marin went to an anime event with her new cosplay.
She was so excited. She was so, so happy.
And I was supposed to get on with the operation that day and make her fall for me.
Everything was suppose to be good.
Everything was suppose to be fun.
.
.
.
But worst things happen.
Life was cruel.
Fate was crueler.
.
.
.
As I saw death slowly approaching the girl with golden hair and pink sparkling eyes...
I felt the world crashing on me. I didn't know a man could shoulder the weight of the whole world.
Taken.
Everything was about to be taken from me.
I always thought I was fast. I always thought my speed was enough.
But I was not fast enough.
I couldn't possibly reach her and save her
I was too far away.
I should've trained harder.
I should've been stronger.
.
.
.
Marin.
I don't think I can catch you.
