Chapter 6: Chapter 6
Kaeya and Amber quickly took us to the other side of the city to an almost castle-shaped building and into a side room where two women were standing across from one another in conversation.
I very quickly recognized the two beautiful women that were already in the room as Lisa in her witch's outfit and recognizable hat with her brown hair was easily recognizable as was Jean with her almost office and military dress uniform hugging her figure and her blond ponytail that bobbed as she walked over to us from where Lisa was perched over a railing surrounding the books lining the walls.
As Kaeya told his side of the story about seeing us fight the dragon and Amber shared the details she knew about us, me and Lumine were relegated to a session of awkward nods of confirmation as the Knights literally speed run a sort of citizens test to see if we were to be welcome into Mondstadt but my mind was stuck on the books and weird almost steampunk object's lining the walls.
As I was studying the room, I felt my eyes meet Lisa's leaf-green eyes in my survey of the surroundings, her eyes seemed to suck my own in, preventing me from losing eye contact and Kaeya's voice became a drowning blur. but I noticed an almost purple tinge to her eyes and realized with a start she was doing something.
I flooded my body with Anemo energy, and a small tinge of purple Electro energy sparked off me making the room tense with Jean throwing a glare at Lisa. "Lisa what did I say about teasing others with your magical nonsense!"
Lisa just rolled her eyes at the leader of the Knights of Favonius as she leaned on the banister showing off her cleavage. "Hehe, I was just testing to see if our new male recruit had any talent in the magical arts... But it seems that he will need some mental training should he desire my attention."
Amber not seeming to care about Jean giving Lisa the stink eye walked beside her leader as Jean sighed seemingly giving up on attempting to cow Lisa into submission with her glare.
After hearing that Lumine was here in search of her brother Lisa sighed crossing her arms as she huffed. "That Storm Terror has twisted all of Mondstadt's Ley lines and elemental spheres of influence like a cat's torn-up ball of yarn... Otherwise, we would have much greater magical options to help you find your sister than just simply putting up missing person's posters."
Jean then interjected saying that she asks that we wait here within Mondstadt while they deal with Storm Terror and are finally able to help Lumine find her sibling Lumine volunteered our help though I certainly wasn't opposed as I wanted to integrate myself into the Knights as smoothly as possibly.
"Lisa has managed to lock onto Storm Terror's magical signature and thus deduced that the locations she has locked onto hold a great deal's worth of his power," Jean explained as she leaned into her desk looking down to the ground in deep thought.
"They are located in the four winds temples, and I believe that Stormterror is using those Domain Temples as a sort of battery to fuel its powers as the dragon has never shown such power even when he served the Anemo god Barbatos fighting in the Archon War," Lisa explained to me and Lumine while Paimon was a good mascot and kept quiet.
"We will be dealing with three of the four temples and with six of us being combat-ready here, I say we split up into three teams of two..." Jean mused before nodding to her plan as she turned to Kaeya. "Kaeya, you take Amber and deal with the Temple of the Falcon... It was once Stormterror's own temple so be careful."
Then Lumine got paired with Jean herself as they discussed going into the Temple of the Wolf while Lisa gently took my arm and pulled me aside as Amber and Kaeya jogged out of the room obviously rushing to take care of their temple.
"Well, sweety it sounds like I will need to leave my library and I thank you for helping me take care of the Lion Temple," Lisa said as she pulled me out of the room Lumine just waited for Jean to finish a couple of pieces of paperwork before they set off to their temple.
"Will Mondstadt be alright with Jean, you and the others leaving?" I asked as none of the other cast members came into the room to give a report for such an important event happening.
Lisa gave my arm a squeeze seemingly to have me hold my question as she brought me over to the front gates of Mondstadt only after we talked to the guards, and they brought a couple of horses out from a stone alcove beneath the city ways she answered my question as our horses carried us across the large stone bridge.
"Yes, although many of the Knights have left with our actual Grand Master Varka on his expedition, we still have a strong collection of knights within Mondstadt though... They aren't the most reliable, unfortunately." Lisa mumbled at the end, and I could only mentally facepalm at the thought that anyone could consider Klee, a pyromaniac bomb loli as anything reliable.
"So, Jake, I understand you wish to join the Knights of Favonius. Can you tell me your reasons, it's going to be a decent ride to the Temple so I would enjoy learning more about a potential colleague." Lisa said with a purr to her tone though I didn't take it seriously as I knew she was a major flirt but would smack down anyone would pressed on her flirtations viciously with her Electro spells.
"Hmm, well at the core of my reasons is that I am homeless with how I was left on a beach with only the clothes on my back and my weapon... Now I have some combat talents and could make my way as an Adventurer, but I don't want to wear Santa's abandoned elves clothes." I said grimacing at the thought of wearing those hideous green, white, and brown clothes all adventures tended to wear.
Lisa snorted at my wording shaking her head as we passed by the Anemo statue of the Seven at the massive Windrise Tree.
"Jake let me give you a bit of advice from a once fellow drifter... I went from a not-so-humble graduate of Sumeru's magical academy and toured much of the world in search of magical knowledge but before I knew it, I spent almost a decade mindlessly learning magic with no goal in sight... So I advise you to rather than drift around aimlessly I suggest if you are going to drift around that you make it productive hehe." She giggled and I had to gawk at how shameless she was.
"Aren't you supposed to say like? Don't worry Jake, the Knights of Favonius welcomes you and you will have a friend in me or something..." I asked sarcastically as we crested around some hills and finally, the temple was in sight.
Lisa giggled and after we got off the horses and began walking towards the temple, she gave me a light side hug as we walked beside one another making me stiffen in surprise from her actions. "Oh, you may be a cutie, but you aren't as cute as that little Lumine Hehe." She drawled as she walked ahead of me with a strong sway to her hips drawing my eyes to her black stocking-clad bottom that would occasionally be flashed as she walked over the uneven ground in high heels.
"Now relax for a minute while I unlock this temple," Lisa said as she coated her hand in electro energy and began removing a sort of barrier around the temple.
