Chapter 78: chapter 7
Apparently, if you ask Lydia, was that magical healing with the soothing after-effect of ice magic is the best thing to ever experience. The strawberry blonde even kept asking for the Brit to climb in bed with her and share her arctic-kissed skin with her. Hope surprisingly didn't find this request odd or flirtatious as all she could do was laugh at Daphne's deer-caught-in-headlights expression as she was pulled into the bed with the sensitive Banshee.
"So what the hell just happened and please don't lie to me. I've had too many people lying to me in an attempt to keep me 'safe'." Lydia questioned the two girls in front of her after her migraine had finally dissipated completely and Daphne managed to escape the confines of Lydia's koala-like grip.
Hope was considering what to tell the young Banshee as this was going to be alot to take in. The Tribrid thought about lying about the entire interaction between the Emrys couple and Death, but it wouldn't be fair to Lydia being kept in the dark while she wanted to offer some training for the defenceless strawberry blonde on the bed.
The Tribrid knew Daphne would agree with whatever decision she made although the nudge in her mind telling her to tell the truth was what the Ice Witch thought they should do.
"It's a long story--" Hope starts before she's cut off.
"Hope." An irritated Lydia spoke the brunette's name almost scornfully.
"Hey! There's no need for that. I was going to say that I would need to start from the beginning so you can have some context. Geez, cool your jets there Lydia and let me talk before jumping down my throat like that." Hope replied slightly offended by the insinuation that she was just going to brush the other girl off with such a simple excuse.
The untrained Banshee pursed her lips in a thin line as she realised she may have jumped the gun too soon. "Sorry."
Hope started with a quick history lesson of the 'Tales of The Beedle and The Bard' and the three Peverell Brothers. Lydia was aware of these stories as she's read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows more than once, she wanted to urge the brunette to get to the point but refrained for now.
When Hope mentioned that she destroyed the Resurrection Stone and Elder Wand, Lydia started paying attention as this was new information. Harry was supposed to have ended up with all 3 pieces of Death's gifts to the Peverell Brothers and disposing of the Elder Wand off the bridge heading in and out of Hogwarts.
Instead of keeping the Cloak of Invisibility like Harry had done in the books, Hope convinced Harry to destroy the last item belonging to Death in order to return the Deathly Hallows back to their original owner, Death. Hope explained how Death had killed them the night that Harry destroyed the Cloak and how Death brought them into Death's realm to thank them. Death also was 'generous' enough to mention that they had 2 more Soulmates: an archer and an assassin.
By killing both Hope and Daphne to speak to them, Death activated Hope's Vampire Side and forced her to transition faster than what the Tribrid originally wanted but with Daphne at her side she didn't fear her Vampire Side or the ability to turn off her humanity.
Lydia was still confused about this as it didn't explain what it had to do with her blackout but she did learn quite a bit about the Witch pair and Hope's history. Although when it got to recent events, a pit of despair entered Lydia's heart.
"Which leads up to today. Before your blackout I told you that you are a Banshee, then Daph and I felt a presence that we've only felt once before in our life… Well, actually I suppose I should say in our deaths. In a split second, you were convulsing like you were having a seizure, then you were no longer you. Death possessed your body." Hope told the shell-shocked and frightened girl.
"W-Why? W-Why me-e?" Lydia barely managed to get out as she struggled with her tongue to push the words out.
"You're a Banshee, Lydia. Remember the alternate names you listed earlier to us. The Wailing Woman. Harbinger of Death . Lydia… You are a vessel for Death." Hope answered softly with sadness in her voice.
Lydia went completely silent at the information and brought her knees up to her chest, hugging them tightly to herself in an effort to make herself as tiny as possible. Hope and Daphne were unsure whether or not the distraught girl would want comfort from them.
" Hope, Daphne. One of you, come pick me up. Dad's not here at the moment. " Came a remarkably tired voice from a strangely alert Allison.
Both the Tribrid and Ice Witch jumped not expecting a response from their 3rd soulmate as they thought she was sleeping after her flight.
Hope glanced at Daphne indicating that she should probably go pick up Allison just in case the Alpha Pack have already moved into the apartment above the Argents.
Daphne closed her eyes for a moment as she gathered a picture of where she wanted to apparate from Hope's memories and silently disappeared.
In the meantime Hope moved to the edge of the bed and squatted down to make herself seem smaller than she was, to make herself look like less of a threat. "Lydia. Allison will be here shortly. Would you like for her to stay with you?"
The strawberry blonde didn't move a muscle but thanks to Hope's twice enhanced supernatural hearing she heard the tiniest whimper, 'yes'.
"Okay. Do you want myself or Daph in the room once Allison gets here?" Hope questioned just as quietly as before.
"No." Lydia squeaked out like a mouse through the mess of limbs covering her face.
"Very well. Once Allison's here I'll leave you two alone. I'll also put up a privacy ward in this room so any conversations you have, will remain between the two of you. Daph and I will be in the art studio next door whenever you are ready to talk to us or if you simply want to say goodbye before leaving." Hope told the small ball of limbs on the bed.
Shockingly to Hope's surprise, only a minute had gone by before Daphne appeared with a hand on Allison's shoulder. The ravenette must've compromised with Daphne on how to apparate with her. Allison didn't want to hold hands at this stage as she obviously doesn't trust what she's feeling yet nor did she want to do the hug apparation, which is the most safest method of apparating with another person.
The Huntress had her eyes scrunched shut as she wasn't sure what to expect travelling across town in the blink of an eye. Allison cracked open an eye after Daphne had let go of her shoulder, taking in her new surroundings until she saw Lydia's still form on the bed.
"We'll be in the next room to the right if you need us. Lydia mentioned that she just wants you in the room with her. I'm also placing a privacy ward over this room so we won't be able to hear anything either of you say." Hope told Allison as she gathered Daphne's concerned form and moved them out of the room.
Hope closed the door behind her and snapped her fingers erecting the privacy and silence charms as the couple made their way into the next room.
Daphne entered the room with pursed lips as she awkwardly informed Hope of something that she was unaware of. "So… Apparently as much as Allison was asleep during our conversation with Lydia and Death this morning. She also figured out how to sight-share in her sleep and we didn't place any barriers up as we didn't want Allison to think we were hiding anything from her."
"Oh… So she knows Lydia is a Banshee and what we discussed about Death as well Death's connection to Lydia?" Hope questioned with a partial look of defeat.
"Yep."
"Any ideas how she feels about that? Because I can't feel anger or judgement coming from Allison and she doesn't know how to block her emotions from us yet. We haven't had the opportunity to teach her that. I mean I told her the theory behind hiding thoughts from us but emotions, strong emotions are too difficult to hide from your other halves." Hope wondered as Daphne had a few moments alone to speak to Allison.
Daphne moved over to her easel while using her magic to telekinetically squeeze out some paints onto a pallet and picking a thick brush to start painting in a base background of a landscape.
"From what I can tell she's not angry but she does want to discuss everything you know about Lydia. Apparently learning that Death can possess her best friend puts an angsty Huntress on high alert and she doesn't know how to process everything she just witnessed through us." The blonde replied as she dipped her brush into a bit of light blue oil paint before touching the paint into a layer of turpentine, allowing the oil to spread smoothly over the blank canvas.
"Hmm." The Tribrid hummed thoughtfully as she followed in Daphne's footsteps and gathered her art supplies, mostly focusing on creams, oranges, yellows, reds, whites and black.
Watching the lengths that Allison is willing to go to ensure that Lydia was safe inspired Hope's newest painting, a portrait of the two girls in the other room.
Daphne's hand slowed to a stop as she glanced over to her soulmate and tilted her head in thought. "That's actually not a bad idea. Maybe I'll paint them next."
Hope and Daphne spent the next 3 or 4 hours painting in relative silence except for the sounds of brushstrokes, dipping in turpentine, shifting the pallet in their hands when they get a cramp in their hand or the moving of canvases off the easels to dry the first layer of paint and placing a new canvas on the easel to start again.
Hope's Familiar popped in and out of the art studio through the open window, sometimes staying with the couple for a short period while nibbling on some of the food and water set out for her before taking off in flight. The Thunderbird was still quite young and didn't enjoy being cooped up in one spot for a long time as she got bored watching the pair paint.
During the 3rd hour of the couple painting Alexandria flew back inside and fell asleep on her perch as she absorbed some of Hope's excess magic that was lingering in the art room.
The supernatural pair had hoped that by painting they would send a peaceful sense of serenity to Allison in an attempt to keep their 3rd soulmate level-headed while also doing something they both loved since Hope couldn't Wolf out just yet. Meanwhile Allison was consoling her devastated best friend who also happens to be a Banshee.
How Allison hasn't simply said 'fuck it' after learning that just about everyone she's come into contact with in Beacon Hills was a supernatural creature, Hope didn't know as it was becoming more than ridiculous.
As it turns out, Hope must've spoken this thought aloud or was broadcasting it so loudly in her mind that the Huntress in question poked her head inside the art studio and answered the Tribrid's query. "Probably because it's my job to safeguard humanity from any supernatural creatures that decide that they want to attack innocents."
Hope turned to face Allison who was looking around the room in awe as she saw the dozens of paintings in many different states of completion as well as painting which were completed
The ravenette was mostly focused on the finished artworks, paintings of landscapes from what Allison could only assume was the Hogwarts universe as she saw the familiar castle with a moving giant squid in the Black Lake. There were also some portraits of Hope and Daphne's families. In fact, there was even one of Allison, Chris and Victoria.
The Tribrid noticed where Allison's eyes were locked towards. "You can take that if you'd like. I've painted one of just you and your father which I'm more than happy to keep. I thought that you might want a memento of your mother. I had a plan to gift this to you once we knew each other better."
Lydia peered around the stoic archer so she could glance into the room. "Holy shit! You two painted these? Wait, does that mean you painted the ones downstairs?"
Daphne smiled as she saw the strawberry blonde but frowned slightly as she noticed the false cheerfulness the other girl was putting up. "Yes… All the paintings in this house were either made by Hope or myself. The two family portraits downstairs are Hope's. Her family, the Mikaelsons and the others are my family as well as the people who accepted Hope as their family, Nic, Nelle and Luna."
"The other painting of Hope's is in our bedroom of her hometown, silhouetted in a red and blue background with a large full moon in the sky. Mine are the landscapes of the ocean and Paris as well as the portrait of my little sister, Astoria." Daphne continued with a fair amount of pride in her voice.
"You have a lot of single portraits of the people in those family portraits as well as wolves and forest landscapes." Lydia mentioned as she poked at Allison's side, breaking her out of her trance.
Hope shrugged nonchalantly as she cleaned off her brush so it wouldn't get ruined quickly from incorrect practices. "I thought that hanging pictures of forests or wolves in a town notorious for its Werewolves would be suspicious. So we keep them here. Hidden from the public view if someone were to look around the house. We lock this door with our magic whenever we are not in it."
Allison and Lydia both let out a chuff of amusement at that observation but bobbed their heads in agreement realising that the Tribrid was right.
"Can we talk? About Lydia?" Allison asked before seeing the couple's hopeful expressions before adding in her clarification.
The Huntress wasn't ready to have this conversation with the pair just yet. Hell, she wasn't even awake enough to have this conversation about Lydia and what it means to be a Banshee and how Death itself factors into all of this. But Lydia needs her here. So here she is.
Hope and Daphne shared a similar expression of sadness before they quickly covered it up behind a placating smile.
"Sure… Would you like to head downstairs or back to the bedroom to talk?" Hope suggested as she packed up her supplies.
Daphne had already finished cleaning up her things and cast a quick ' evanesco ' on her smudged hands since she moved to drawing with charcoal about half an hour ago.
Daphne used this opportunity to gently collect the sleeping bird from its perch and carry Alexandria with her. Hope picked up the painting of Allison's family and ushered them out of the doorway before closing it behind them.
As much as Daphne and Hope are not ashamed of their artworks they hardly ever let anyone see them for long if they are in the art studio. The artworks that remain in that room are either unfinished, too precious to hang on the walls, repetitive or highly suggestive.
Apart from family portraits Hope and Daphne keep the paintings of each other and now, Allison, are safely hidden away in Hope's 7 compartment chest that she keeps on her person at all times. Afraid of being thrusted into another universe without a single item of use to her name or her family's momento across both worlds.
"Are you literally shoving us out of your art room?" Lydia questioned with a hint of sadness as she enjoyed a fine piece of artwork and this couple had heaps to look at.
"Yes. For now." Hope answered before sighing as this day has obviously gone on too long.
"Maybe sometime in the future you can look around, but for now we want to keep some mysteries about ourselves... Some of those paintings are private and you may get an unintended eyeful." The Tribrid added, although since she is a Mikaelson, Hope had to have the last laugh.
Allison's eyes widened as she glanced back to the closed door then back to Daphne and Hope with a massive blush on her cheeks at the implication. Daphne wasn't doing much better as she levelled an intense glare towards Hope as she would never mention those paintings in such a precarious manner and shook her head in embarrassment.
Lydia, however, took to this news like Christmas had come early and laughed heartily as she poked at her embarrassed friend. "Holy hell! You are evil Hope. I don't think Ally's mind is able to fully appreciate the sentiment at the moment with her sleep deprived mind… But, if you plan on showing those types of paintings to Ally, can I take a peek as well?"
Allison groaned at Lydia's remark and moved away from the group heading downstairs followed by Daphne who couldn't stop the blush at the Banshee's comment, muttering some choice words under her breath. "Bloody hell! Why do we keep finding people that enable Hope's inappropriate side? First was Nic, then Luna popped in with her airy comments, then Freya. Oh my Merlin, that one was possibly the worst, but no , of course it isn't because that's when Lizzie shows up. Now I have to deal with a bloody Banshee."
The other three girls in the house froze in their movements as they listened to the Ice Witch's rant and stared back at her. Daphne nearly bumps into Allison on the stairs but stops herself and notices all the looks being sent her way.
Daphne simply crosses her arms over her chest as she looks back up towards Hope. "It's true darling and you bloody well know that. Now move your cute little ass so you can finish explaining what Death told us and also what Lydia's role is as a Banshee before I throw some icicles at your head!"
Lydia and Allison were trying their absolute hardest not to laugh as Hope snorted at her wife's annoyance before paling slightly at the thought of dodging hundreds of iced spears from a pissed off Daphne.
The Emrys couple have had many similar disputes just like this in the past and Hope would normally remain defensive during their spar so the irate Witch could get all her frustration out before jumping in bed to have sex with Hope taking the lead.
The girls had always considered this interaction as foreplay since they always end up hot and sweaty in bed. They enjoyed the rush it gave them as there were times Daphne or Hope came up with some interesting magical attacks or defence tactics and Hope would take her time praising the blonde in the most delicious way possible.
There was only one little problem with this chain of events at the moment and that was Hope and Daphne were emotionally and physically connected to Allison. But either Daphne or Hope wished to dampen their own emotions or thoughts until Allison can block them out herself. Keeping their emotions and thoughts open to Allison, enticing the other girl to either black them out or learn whatever she wished to learn about them.
Besides Allison has already requested that the established couple in the bond not to get too heated in their making our and especially no sex until they teach her how to block them.
Hope theorised that if she and Daphne were the only ones to control the bond between themselves and Allison then the Huntress would continue to rely on Hope and Daphne to regulate their feelings and emotions. This was the main reason why the Emrys couple were so adamant to have Allison learn to manipulate the soul link to reflect her needs. Once that happens, Hope and Daphne could add in their own walls against Allison until they could settle on what was best for them as a group.
Hope immediately paled further as she recalled that Allison was connected physically to them and Daphne's icicles could certainly cause a bit of damage if Hope wasn't careful. Hope shared that concern with Daphne who quickly sobered up from her exasperated but familiar banter with the Tribrid.
"Good point… No fighting each other until we teach Allison how to block the physical connection. I'm not going to be responsible for hurting her by sparring against you, Hope." Daphne admitted as she relaxed her exasperated expression with a concerned frown in Allison's direction.
"When you get a full night of sleep do you think we can start training you on how to block us? I want to make sure that you have at least some form of mental blocks in place for physical means before next week." Hope asked as she made her way over to the stairs and called down to Allison with possibly the most serious expression on her face.
"Why next week?" Allison questioned with a frown at the short timeframe and the concern that was practically painted on both Hope and Daphne's faces.
"Ally, I love you to pieces but some days you can be quite dense. There's a full moon next week and this one," Lydia mentioned in a deadpan from beside the Tribrid and pointing a thumb in the brunette's direction, "Is a Werewolf remember? And try not to forget she's also from The Vampire Diaries universe. You know, the universe where a Werewolf has to break every bone in their body over the course of hours ?" Lydia emphasised each word that worried her.
Allison was originally offended by her friend's remark until the Huntress went white at the knowledge as she glanced back at Daphne.
The blonde Ice Witch took pity on her distressed soulmate as she really wished to place a comforting hand on the other girl's shoulder.
But Daphne refrained herself as it was one of the conditions Allison gave Daphne when apparating her into their home. "If it helps, Hope's transformation usually only takes about 3 seconds and I barely feel anything. The only reason we are concerned is because this will be Hope's first time shifting in a new universe and from previous experience it takes a little longer, maybe a minute or two."
The Huntress shivered violently at the imagery of all of her bones breaking but Hope was listening in to their soul link just in case and spoke up. "So long as we can teach you how to block part of our physical connection, your bones won't actually break. Mine will. I will do my best to block my pain from going through the bond on my side but I'm not 100% sure if this will work. It's the first time I'd be attempting this during my transformation."
This information, unsurprisingly, did not appease the Young Argent girl as she still looked and felt terrified.
"Thankfully Daph knows how to transfer feelings across the bond and onto herself. Perhaps she can do this to dampen the effect it will have on you since Daphne's already used to the pain of my shifting. But you may still feel some of my pain." Hope mentioned as a possible alternative as she shared a wordless conversation with the blonde.
Daphne nodded her head in agreement. "Alternatively, something else we have learnt from experience is that physical pain normally doesn't mirror pain to the other if we are within close proximity. The physical connection only flares up when one of us is hurt and the other isn't in the immediate area."
"Meaning your bond to one another works kinda like a supernatural alert if one of you is in danger?" Lydia theorised.
Hope and Daphne considered this for a moment before replying. "Basically.", "That seems like a reasonable conclusion."
Allison didn't know whether to be disturbed or relieved as she wanted to get her mind off the idea of Hope's shift into a wolf within the next week. "So you're telling me that I have a magical lo-jack?"
Daphne had a confused puppy look plastered on her face as she didn't understand the terminology Allison used.
The Tribrid snorted at the undignified observation from the ravenette but couldn't stop the easy banter that flowed out her mouth, afterall sarcasm does make up roughly 75% of Hope's interactions with her Soulmate or apparently in this case Soulmates. "For myself and Daph, definitely. I can find you pretty easily since my magical aura covers a wider area than Daphne's. In fact, Allison, I have already memorised your heartbeat when we were in the police station and yes, I do realise how creepy that sounded Lydia."
Lydia's jaw clicked shut as Hope turned to her during her last sentence with a look daring her to make that sassy comment that was just itching to come out. But the strawberry blonde just grumbled instead as she made her way over to the stairs.
However with that snippet of information Allison felt protected, which was strange. Because if it was any one else the Huntress knew she would feel highly violated like she had when Matt was stalking her.
Once Hope finally made her way down the stairs Daphne had passed the still snoozing bird off to the Tribrid as her feathers were puffed up in her sleep indicating she was cold. Hope summoned a zip-up jumper directly onto herself and comfortably placed Alexandria inside before zipping up the article of clothing. Hope and Daphne could hear the little whistle of pleasure from the Thunderbird causing them to smile at the tiny noise.
The Emrys couple sat on one of the couches, leaving the other one for the Huntress and Banshee.
Hope proceeded to tell the Teen Wolf girls about Death's visit and its request or 'favour' as Death put it.
Lydia and Allison were completely against it to begin with but after explaining a little more about Banshee physiology, Lydia was slowly realising that she didn't have much of a choice. It was either learn how to use her abilities or suffer mental breakdowns.
Allison would've been more angry at the pair for frightening her best friend but Hope was delicate in her explanation as she gave some examples of other Banshees and the problems they faced. Heck, the Tribrid looked utterly remorseful as she explained how Peter Hale influenced at least one more Banshee other than Lydia during his hospitalisation after the house fire her Aunt Kate had set.
Lydia shivered at the memory of Peter controlling her through her hallucinations that she nearly agreed right then for Hope and Daphne to teach her but she remained silent.
Hope had mentioned how all the Banshees she knew had all been admitted to Eichen House. Lydia gulped as she looked expectantly at the brunette girl opposite her and Hope gave the saddest bob of her head causing Lydia to suck in a frightened breath as she shivered, curling herself up into a ball on the couch with Allison moving to support her friend.
Allison's phone buzzing snapped everyone's attention to the small device as she picked it up and cringed, reading the message. "I need to get back home before my dad kills me."
Hope stood as she kept her left arm cradled under her stomach to provide support to Alexandria but designating herself as Allison's lift home.
The Huntress gave Hope a little glare as she made a small comment of annoyance. "I'm not in the mood for an argument so don't goad my dad into wishing to shoot you."
"Allison… Your dad will want to shoot me anyway because there is a Werewolf-Vampire-Witch Tribrid and an Ice Affinity Witch with a Wolf and Tiger Animagus forms, are soulmated to his daughter." Hope deadpanned back at the raven haired girl who was trying really hard not to laugh as she wanted to seem unimpressed by the brunette's truthful words.
Hope rolled her eyes slightly. "I won't goad Chris when I take you home. I'm actually going to drop you off outside the complex and come right back here. I won't even see Chris today. I promise."
Allison sighed as she stood next to Hope offering her shoulder as she now knew what to expect when teleporting with Daphne, and now Hope. The Tribrid placed her hand on Allison's shoulder, blinking out of existence before reappearing just outside Allison's apartment building.
"Hopefully we will see you soon, love. Until next time." Hope offered her goodbyes as she apparated away.
Allison made her way into the lobby tapping the up button for the elevator and heard the ding signalling the doors opening. Allison backed up and moved off to the side, allowing for the people who were already in the elevator to exit. A white walking cane smacked into one of the elevator doors while a exotic looking woman with a dark glare pointed in her direction walked out of the elevator guiding the blind man out of the building.
The Huntress shrugged off the withering look the other woman gave her and stepped into the elevator and pushed the number '4'.
"Hi dad… How much trouble am I in?" Allison sheepishly looked down at her feet as she greeted her father who was already standing at their apartment door with his arms crossed over his chest..
Chris could only sigh and opened the door wider for Allison to enter, quickly noticing just how exhausted his daughter looked.
"We'll discuss it later. Go get some rest. You look like you are 2 seconds away from passing out." Chris replied as he ushered her into her bedroom with a worried hand hovering at her back just in case.
Lydia jumped at Hope's reappearance and the Tribrid looked the strawberry blonde over. "Do you mind if we finish up here? You can take as much time as you'd like to consider your options and if you need any more information, just ask."
Hope wanted to add more but she thought that giving her own opinions on a choice that is completely up to Lydia was poor taste. The Tribrid wanted to tell Lydia to allow them to train her as she knew the longer Lydia took to make her decision the higher chance there is for more dangerous symptoms to arise that could lead to mental issues in the future.
The strawberry blonde girl nearly jumped at the opportunity to leave at the suggestion. Lydia told the pair that she would like Allison to be present for whenever Hope tells her what she knows about Banshees.
Lydia wanted the support her friend could provide as she started to notice that she subconsciously shifted away from Hope in particular, any time she got too close. That much became clear when Hope offered to swap numbers by having her type her phone number into both Hope and Daphne's phones before leaving.
Lydia flinched when Hope's hand holding the phones came too close and the Tribrid noticed this, sliding the phones in her hand so she was holding the top edge of the phone. Hope apologised but Lydia wasn't completely sure why the other girl was apologising in the first place.
Both Hope and Daphne had been wonderful hosts even during the difficult times when she was having a mini heart attack they were understanding and supportive. Daphne went as far to teleport over to Allison's place and bring her over so she had someone she trusted with her.
The most mind-boggling thing about this entire experience is that she actually likes both Hope and Daphne.
They frighten the hell out of Lydia but she doesn't know where that feeling is coming from, although she assumes it would be the Banshee part of her if she was a betting woman.
However the way the two girls treat her is refreshing and exhilarating. Hope and Daphne are sharing everything with her. The good and the bad. The exciting and the devastating.
They aren't mincing anything which is an unfamiliar but pleasant feeling as she is finally being included.
By the time Lydia had entered her car to leave the couple's stunning home, there was a text message from a new number with Hope's name at the end of the message basically repeating if she needs anything don't be afraid to text whenever.
The brunette was pointing and directing the blonde as she awkwardly held the phone in her hand. Lydia chuckled quietly as she watched Daphne struggle with the new device. Once the green-eyed Banshee realised that Daphne was a Pureblood from the Hogwarts universe she put two and two together. Daphne had absolutely no idea how to use modern technology.
"Why was she being so weird around you?" Daphne wondered as she stood by the door, waiting for Lydia to drive off.
Hope quietly scoffed as she bitterly replied. "I've been told that I have a very powerful scent of death on me. Lydia is a Banshee. She can most likely sense the amount of death that surrounds me and it scares her. Daph, you don't have as many lingering spirits of death hanging around you."
"Will that be a problem heading forward?" Daphne asked as she sent a worried look to her soulmate.
Hope shrugged but answered non committedly. "Maybe. Maybe not. That depends on Lydia… And possibly Allison."
For Hope and Daphne the next few days went by without any interaction from either Lydia or Allison. Even after their warning to their soulmate regarding building up her barriers before Hope's first shift in 3 days.
The couple's secondary problem was that school was starting up in 2 days and they barely spent any time with Allison. The Huntress had requested some space for the last couple of days while she spoke to Lydia about what Hope and Daphne had told them about Death and the favour Death 'requested' of them and Lydia.
The third issue that crossed Hope's mind was that tomorrow, the Darach will finally make an appearance as will the Alpha Pack. Allison and Lydia will see Scott and Stiles for the first time since the Huntress has been back in Beacon Hills.
To Hope's surprise, she and Daphne had not had any visitors from Derek's Pack, Scott or Stiles like she expected. Hope thought that one of the Wolves would've sniffed her out by now or Stiles may have found out about the new teenage girls that now live in Beacon Hills and will be starting up at school at the beginning of next week.
Chris had managed to locate them yesterday to verify their threat levels and his daughter's safety while Allison was busy spending the day with Lydia, giving him the opportunity to interrogate the pair.
Daphne played peacekeeper to such an extreme that Hope had flashbacks to when the Greengrass Heiress was paraded around like a respectable housewife for boys and men to gawk at. This memory instantly sobered Hope, making her behave like the 23 1⁄2 year old that she actually was.
The Tribrid mentally informed Daphne to stop doing that and that she would be on her best behaviour as she hated seeing Daphne act so submissive in front of others. Especially when it wasn't at all who Daphne really was. She is brilliant, strong and unwilling to take anyone's shit. Daphne is a force to be reckoned with.
Lady Greengrass was confused for a moment until she realised what Hope was alluding to. The blonde stopped herself as she didn't even register that she had fallen back into old Pureblood customs, especially the ones that her Mate despised.
After Chris left unscathed, slightly impressed by the presentation in their home as well as their promises to respect Allison. This time calmly explaining the Soulmate bond to Chris and how it was unbreakable and if any outside forces attempted to break the bond all it would do was cause unbelievable pain and agony on all sides of the bond.
Chris was also able to get a lot off of his own chest from this conversation with the pair of magical girls. Enough for Argent to allow his daughter to visit the girls if they did their best to keep Allison away from all the supernatural stuff that they were sure to attract or at the least protect her from them.
The Emrys couple gave each other shifty eyes as they turned back to Chris with raised eyebrows saying 'really?'. The Hunter could only groan as his shoulders slouched forward and he dropped his head in frustration. Well aware that Allison was growing more and more rebellious and she would find a way to interfere in anything Hunter related now that the new Huntress has a taste for the thrill of the hunt.
Hope and Daphne discussed what happened as they thought that Daphne had grown out of the Pureblood Princess display when it came to visitors. The blonde shrugged, only slightly guilty as she felt like she needed to make a good impression on Allison's father.
Hope was grumbling as she took a sip of Daph's blood from a cup rather than from the willing source beside her who was patting the Tribrid's shoulder sadly as she missed the euphoric bite as well. Both girls wanted to get some semblance of normalcy but they were thwarted at every turn due to the promise they made Allison.
They've always been quite touchy with each other and Allison's reluctance to form mental barriers was grating both of the Witch's skins. Wishing they could do more intimate things like sex or blood drinking. Sometimes they had to stop during a heated make-out session because it was making Allison hot and bothered.
The brunette and blonde were adamant about teaching the Huntress to learn how to differentiate the thoughts and emotions she hears and feels from each of them. Then once Allison has achieved the ability to use her mental shields against them, Hope and Daphne would discuss with Allison if she actually wants them to block their thoughts and feelings.
Hopefully by then Allison would've gotten to know them and may consider being in a relationship with them at that point.
The Tribrid's powerful ears picked up the sound of a car engine cutting off on the double driveway. An intimately familiar heartbeat thrummed loudly in Hope's ears as another heartbeat joined Allison.
The spectacular level of sass that Hope heard had the Tribrid laughing quietly, "How the hell did those two get a brand new car on top of one of the most pricey homes in Beacon Hills? I thought that they didn't have any money here?"
"I don't know… Hope mentioned that Daphne's family was rich and Daphne said that Hope's family was even more wealthy than hers." Was Allison's reply to Lydia as they stared at the new car outside their house.
Daphne bumped Hope's shoulder as she smirked. "Better not tell them that you could make gold if you really wanted to by using the Philosopher's Stone."
Hope facepalmed as a look of utter annoyance crossed her face. "How long did you realise that we could've just done a Nicolas Flamel. Creating gold then selling it to get money?"
"Sometime during that awkward stay at the hotel. It just randomly came to me when I wondered what other methods we could've used if your compulsion failed." Daphne shrugged with a jovial laugh.
"Minx." Hope glowered towards the blonde who was making her way to the door to invite in their guests while skillfully ignoring Hope's pouting.
"Good morning girls." Daphne greeted after a few moments of watching them walk around the new car that Hope decided that they needed.
"Let me guess, Hope's idea?" Lydia remarked as she continued to look over the car.
Daphne hummed as Hope joined her at the door. "Of course. Hope figured that a car would help us fit in more when school starts up otherwise we would have to tell everyone how we get around. I don't think apparating or super speed would be reasonable answers. Do you?"
Thankfully between the Emrys pair, though mainly Hope, they finally created all the documentation they needed to enroll for the upcoming school year and gave the papers to the administration team with some help of compulsion to speed things along.
"It might be a little difficult to explain." Lydia bantered back making the supernatural couple chuff in amusement.
"Just so you know, I'm not actually staying for long. My mum wants to take me shopping and I can't get out of it. However, I think I have enough time for you to go through my Banshee abilities before I need to leave in an hour." Lydia mentioned offhandedly.
Hope and Daphne nodded in acceptance before turning to Allison.
The ravenette noticed the stares and rolled her eyes with a smile, feeling the pair's hopeful expressions wishing for her to stay.
"Lyds was kind enough to be my lift here. Apparently 'the talk' you had with my father made him realise that you weren't a threat to me . Then after his discussion he had with me last night, and by that I mean 'interrogating' me, on whether or not I can feel the bond and if it affects me. It was very awkward to explain the feelings I got while I was on the plane. Thank you very much." Allison glared at the couple standing in the doorway.
Daphne had the decency to look sheepish, Hope on the other hand had that bloody smirk on her face and wiggled her eyes suggestively in her direction as though she was proud of herself.
Lydia snorted as she held her hand out expectantly towards Allison. "Pay up Argent."
Allison sighed as she wondered why she even made that bet with the strawberry blonde. The ravenette pulled out a $20 bill and placed it into her friend's hand.
"Thank you." Lydia proudly stated as she quickly opened up her handbag to get to her purse so she could put the money away.
The blonde blinked in confusion while Hope tilted her head in assumption. "I'll assume that bet had to do with me. I'm just wondering if it was a time limit bet on how long it would take until I smirked or if I was going to make fun of Allison?"
"The second. Though I did try to double down but I failed. Apparently you like to smirk like that when you are making fun of people. Which is practically all the time." Lydia answered cheekily.
Daphne and Allison snorted while Hope's eyes widened slightly at being called out and crossed her arms over her chest in feigned offence. "That's rude."
"But accurate." Daphne and Allison replied simultaneously much to their combined surprise.
Lydia looked partially disturbed as she glanced between Allison and Daphne. "I thought that the twin speak was only between Hope and Daphne? Does this mean Ally will be syncing up to the two of you as well when you speak?"
Hope shrugged before turning the question back onto Lydia than answering it because she's fairly certain that Allison will eventually sync up with them if their archer decided to stay with them. "Lydia, be honest. If you weren't a couple of seconds behind their instant reply, wouldn't you have said the exact same thing?"
Lydia's lips pursed in a thin line as she tried not to answer that question, knowing that Hope was telling the truth but not wishing to give the Tribrid girl the satisfaction of gloating. It didn't work very well since the Mikaelson smirk made another reappearance.
"Come on in." Daphne offered to change the subject smoothly which the Teen Wolf girls accepted the invitation gratefully.
Allison and Lydia made their way into the house as Hope and Daphne separated in order to give them enough room to get inside without needing to brush up against either girl. Daphne's always been more than happy to take the role of hostess when they have guests and directed the pair into the living room, offering refreshments along the way.
The four girls took the same seating arrangement that they had a few days ago and Allison leaned forward as she clasped her hands together, placing them on her lap as she sighed. "So, Lydia and I were talking yesterday about everything that we learned last time we were here. First off, I want to thank you both for giving us the time and space to discuss what we wanted to do without pushing either of us."
Hope and Daphne gave a small nod and polite smile towards the pair on the other couch.
"I also feel like I need to apologise to both of you as well. I'm sorry that I demanded for the two of you not to share any real intimate times for the past week. I can feel each time one of you gets frisky while the other has to remind the other to stop due to the promise you made me. But I could always feel the quick frustration from both of you even if it only lasts for a few seconds at most. And I'm sorry for that." Allison admitted with a slight blush on her face.
Daphne mentally kicked Hope as she told the brunette to behave and not make fun of Allison as she apologised, otherwise she may never open herself up like this again, if they don't accept the apology and make her feel comfortable enough to be able to talk to them. Hope internally rolled her eyes as she knew that already and didn't want to ostracise their third soulmate by doing anything stupid.
"It's fine, Allison. I'm sorry that you felt our frustration but we don't blame you for it. You have a say in this relationship since you are connected to it, possibly against your will and we take that into account. Forcing our feelings or emotions on you would be wrong and sick on so many levels. So there's no reason to apologise for that." Hope reasoned with the ravenette as she tried to portray what was going through her head.
Allison gave a shy grin as she pushed some of her dark hair behind her ear showcasing that lovely smile.
"Well as much as this is all very wonderful and very gay, can we get back to me? I'm still quite terrified that Death will overtake my body again and take it for a joyride." Lydia butted in inelegantly causing Hope and Daphne to look at the strawberry blonde with raised eyebrows at the interruption.
Allison groaned and shook her head as she contained the response to smack her friends for her lack of tact.
"Very well… Do you want to start with the powers that you will most likely gain?" Hope responded to the change of conversation since she had promised Lydia they would go over this information whenever she wanted.
Lydia wasn't expecting for Hope to simply accept the change of subject and sucked in a nervous breath as she quietly replied. "Yes… Please."
