Chapter 34: Chapter 34
Before Clark or Leonard knew it, Christmas break arrived. So packing their bag once more, and promising to be back for Christmas. Leonardo used Clark's body and flew high into the air and headed back to the lovely weather of Egypt.
'Lana is going to be mad.' Clark grumbled.
'It's not like you two are dating, so why should she care how you spend your Christmas break?' Leonardo questioned. 'Besides, last I checked, she was hitting it off with the new guy Adam. She did turn the old storage room into an apartment for him.'
'Yeah, but I get this weird vibe from Adam.' Clark said. 'Now I hope I don't sound jealous, but I just find him strange.'
'Well, you do sound a bit jealous, but you're not the only one that finds Adam strange. While it is not really noticeable unless one looks closely, his skin color fluctuates quite a bit before it returns to a healthy tone rapidly. If I had to guess, he has a liver problem, but as far as I know most modern medicine doesn't allow for his wide range of activities with his problem.' Leonardo commented.
'I haven't noticed that.' Clark said.
'Well, if you take off your Lana blinders, you could. Anyways, since you brought it up, we will look into him after we return.' Leonardo said. 'We've got something more important to do currently.'
Slamming down on the sand in an uncheck area from last time. The two began to look around the area. Thus, before they knew days began to float by as they resumed their treasure hunting.
--
"We found it. We have finally found it." Holding a statue of an ancient statue of the Egyptian god of Wisdom, Thoth, Clark and Leonardo cheered.
In an underground room and covered in dust, sand and dirt. They held the statue which housed a crystal in their hands after so long. For they were down to only a single day left of Christmas break. Which would have forced them to wait until summer to continue their hunt for the stone.
"Now, just one more." Leonardo smiled happily.
'Yes, then this treasure hunt can end and we can get on with our lives.' Clark said.
'Alright mister Grinch.' Leonardo rolled his eyes. 'Now let's skedaddle and get back to Smallville.'
Then launching into the air, Leonardo flew into the sky grinning as soon, he will have his own body. Which will allow him to truly exist and not be stuck in Clark's head all the time. For no one should be stuck in another person's head for any amount of time, much less a few years.
Once he was back at the farm, Leonardo floated down to the porch, before walking into the house. Which due to the time, was the middle of the night and Jonathan was getting a glass of water.
"Welcome back, Son." He greeted them. "Cutting it a little close?"
"We finally found it." Leonardo grinned before smelling the air. "Blueberry muffins? Is there any left?"
"Leo, stop that." Clark chided.
"Martha made them for the Talon New Years party." Jonathan said, giving them a small wink. "I saved a couple for you two. They are on the counter."
"Thanks, dad." Clark said before speeding over to grab one.
"So only one more and this quest is over?" Jonathan asked.
"Yep, then the training will begin." Leonardo smirked.
"I don't want Clark doing that, it's already bad enough you dragging him to hunt down these stones." Jonathan said strongly.
Leonardo felt like hitting something as he felt Clark strongly agreed to Jonathan's words. While it might be strange and scary to learn about one's own origins. Leonardo felt like this pair of parents for Clark Kent were a bit more paranoid compared to other versions.
"Why are you guys so resistant to learning more about Clark's people and things far beyond anything found on this planet? It could explain so much and hopefully lower Clark's growing inferiority complex, which you seem determined to grow." Leonardo replied in a monotonous tone.
"We don't know what will happen?" Jonathan said.
"Many of what around you is achieved by others taking a step forward even if it was considered dangerous at the time." Leonardo retorted. "Look, it's not like I am asking for Clark to run around and expose himself. It just sooner or laters others with less than ideal intention will come to this planet. Would you rather Clark run around like a headless chicken or know how to deal with them?"
"We don't know that." Jonathan pointed out.
"Various races have been to this planet throughout human history, Jonathan. Now that humans are sending messages out into space, it is only a matter of time until a conqueror race comes." Leonardo laughed a bit angrily.
"Clark is only a teenager, you can't expect him to stop them." Jonathan asked.
"Clark is more capable than what you give him credit for." Leonardo retorted. "Besides, I am not asking him to solve it all by himself. However, knowledge is required to repel them, and at the moment, you want to stop Clark from gaining that knowledge. Think of the knowledge as a condom, you rather have it and not need it, then need it and not have it."
"Guys, stop fighting." Clark got between them. "Dad, Leo does have a point, even if I wish he was more cautious. Leo, dad is just worried about us."
Leonardo and Jonatha just let out a huff ending this topic for now. After which, Jonathan went off back to bed while Leonardo went to sleep while Clark grabbed a shower. Something that Leonardo usually does since he really didn't like watching a Clark, much less another man shower. Another reason why he wants his own body.
--
The next day, Leonardo placed the second stone element onto the stone table with the previous one he and Clark tracked down. During which it lightly glowed showing it was in place. Then after walking out of the chamber and closing it behind him, he walked over to the wall.
"Jor-El, we have found the second stone." Leonardo said.
"You have done well, my sons." Jor-El's voice said as their vision entered a dark space with a blue column surrounding them.
"Will you ring the last stone?" Clark asked.
"A deal is a deal." Jor-El said.
Once outside the space they found themselves in, a high pitch ringing entered their head. Almost like Jor-El purposely turned up the volume on them.
--
At the same time, inside Lionel Luthor Office at Luthor Corp. The man was holding a triangle stone with a symbol carved into it. Across from his desk, a woman with red hair and about the same age as him stood proudly.
"I don't understand why you decided to show me…this rock?" Lionel asked calmly.
"Don't play games with me, Lionel. I know you, you know what this rock is. I am merely curious if you found a similar one in Asia. For no matter where my groups search, they can't find it." Genevieve stated. "We both know Swann is searching high and low in Egypt and it only a matter of time before he finds the third one."
"I'm sorry, but truly you are mistaken in assuming I have this…stone of power." Lionel said.
Before Genevieve could utter a word, the stone in Lionel's hands glowed before white light appeared in Lionel's eyes. As the man began to spasm, a small gust of wind appeared in the office, taking the stone that fell to the ground. Which she mistook to be from the stone.
