Chapter 17: Chapter 17: Crying
"How about we strip them naked and feast on their bodies?" Suggested Daki pointing to Tengen's wives.
'I hope she means it literally… if it's figurative…'
It would be sinister, at least that's Lucian's opinion.
"No." He denied it.
"How about we tear off pieces of them and force him to eat?" Gyutaro suggested.
"umm... No, that would be a little too simple" Lucian said, he was looking for something more psychological, something that invoked dilemmas and internal conflicts, and of course, didn't cause death so soon.
But Lucian still had to admit Gyutaro's talent, with this cruelty and creativity he could become a great torturer.
"I have an idea."
Lucian then reached into his chest, pulling out two syringes.
"See these syringes? The first has a dose of blood that will transform into a demon."
"The second has a much smaller dose, a dose incapable of turning someone into a demon, but will inflict enormous pain, before causing death."
Lucian explained with a smile, the dose from the second syringe would only be enough for his cells to die within the invaded organism, damaging the cells of the other part.
Just bringing an extremely painful cancer with the damaged cell's division.
"Tell me, which one should I inject them with?"
Looking at that smile still as bright as before, Tengen broke out in a cold sweat.
'How does he say such sinister things in such a friendly tone?'
"Live like a demon or die miserably? Considering the position you find yourself in, you have these choices, surrender or watch them die in pain."
Continue the mission or surrender to the enemy?
This becomes an even more complicated decision when they think that the enemy devours humans.
This "torture" may seem very simple and easily avoidable, but that is also because Lucian wants them as subordinates.
The torture suggested by Gyutaro would make them suffer before they die, but Lucian wants to break their resolve.
"You... very despicable to use them to threaten me, not elegant" Tengen mocked, in an attempt to disguise his fear, and distance Lucian from his loved ones.
"You're right, it's despicable. But tell me which of the syringes you will choose?" Lucian spoke, agreeing with Tengen's words.
Being in the position of villain, he should enjoy all the benefits brought by evil.
'If evil is using all means to achieve a goal, I have no problem with being evil.'
"If you don't choose quickly, I will inject the second one." He then approached Hinatsuru, placing the tip of the syringe on her neck.
Seeing the syringe in her neck, Hinatsuru's eyes filled with fear, and if there hadn't been a sash covering her mouth she would have undoubtedly said something.
She regrets that Lucian wouldn't give her the chance to comfort Tengen.
"In my great benevolence and kindness, I will give you ten seconds."
"1, 2, 3... 7, 8, 9..."
"The first! I choose the first!" Under the mounting pressure, Tengen could no longer take it, and seemed to collapse after making a choice.
His head is now bowed, and his confident countenance destroyed.
He knew what happened to those who received demonic blood without turning into demons, they were painful and brutal deaths.
Bodies disfigured beyond recognition, if there was still a "body" left.
He couldn't watch his wives go through this, dying such horrible deaths one by one.
Normally this wouldn't happen, but in front of the demon king, they were powerless.
Lucian smiled, and injected Hinatsuru with a syringe, freezing her before quickly transforming into a demon.
He had understood how to transform more painlessly and quickly.
But as he had said, pain makes a demon stronger. The stronger their minds, the greater their persistence, the greater their power and regeneration will be.
But he could ignore the agonizing process.
'Unfortunately I only learned this recently'
Lucian didn't intend to let Hinatsuru suffer, after all that would only dissuade Tengen.
"Good choice!" Applauded Lucian, injecting blood into Makio, Suma and Tengen afterwards.
Since Tengen had already given up and surrendered, everyone's transformation was an easy process.
'I love resolving things diplomatically'
"Gyutaro, take care of them for now. Daki, you and I have some things to talk about." Lucian said, passing through a door to the infinite castle.
Daki nervously followed behind
Gyutaro, having orders, stayed in place to "teach" the new demons.
In the Infinite Castle.
Lucian sat down, while Daki knelt in front of him.
'Was he angry because of my words?' Daki wondered, after all what she had done could be considered insolence.
"You mean you're the 'future wife of the demon king'? Did you make such a decision alone, or is there another demon king in this world?" Lucian asked with a cold expression.
"I made this decision alone... But I assure you that I had no intention of disrespecting you" Daki replied, almost crying and his words trembling.
"And what would be your intention?" Lucian raised an eyebrow, starting to show that he wasn't as serious as he appeared.
Too bad Daki couldn't realize that.
"... I have a desire to become your wife, but it's very bold... even more so when I was born to a courtesan and lived as an oiran" Daki said, before starting to sob and cry, a certain inferiority complex showing itself. .
"Don't cry! I was joking, I'm not mad!" Lucian exclaimed, approaching her.
"Serious?" Daki asked, his eyes still moist.
"Yes, you will be my wife in the future." Lucian said, stroking Daki's head lightly.
As for the fact that she was an oiran, before she became a demon she was too young for several jobs, and after that she was nothing more than a disguise, any clients who entered her room were nothing more than a snack.
So in fact she is still a virgin.
"Really?" Expectation appearing on Daki's face.
"Of course." Lucian smiled before giving her a kiss.
To which Daki reciprocated with formidable fervor, hugging Lucian's neck and almost hanging onto him.
Much more active than Kie.
'Wait, i have broken my promise?'
'But I really didn't expect that her reaction would be so intense, with few words, which didn't even contain rejection, bringing such sadness to her.' Lucian reflected a little, before focusing on enjoying Daki's soft lips.
This is a characteristic of old school demons, they are unstable, as long as the right words or situations arise, they will have incredibly intense reactions.
Just as Daki has a great fear of fire, Gyutaro even begins to self-harm if he feels jealous.
Gyokko would start to freak out if anyone insulted his art. Hantengu had similar reactions if anyone doubted his innocence.
If it weren't for that, Kokushibo wouldn't have committed suicide in the original work.
'I'll have to resolve this in the future.'
Several things would be complicated if Daki continued like this.
