Chapter 3: A Bloody Night
{picture in comments}
Day 3
As the night shivers and wanes, cold rain washes away old blood and laying corpses, but bloody tears never cease to shower from crying children, while they watch a family shattered! But within the flaming memory… they see the object of their hatred… for they dress in black, wearing the heads of the deceased. With arms raised high, they worship a false god… a bloody God!
While Layla laid there asleep in a makeshift hut, they thought it to be long abandoned. Mary stared at the low burning fire just in front of her, as her memories brought back old scars… but while her scar burned and bleed, she remembered the song… the touch of her long-cherished friend… while her nail dug deep into her knees, she calmed herself down, all while thinking:
[who are you… the Layla I knew couldn't sing for the life of her… in fact it was so bad, the bishop even thought
about having her vocal cords replaced to a more mechanical tune.]
But while she questioned her friend's identity, she never saw the bloody moon rise so high in the sky! For this night was ripe with sorry screams! For as women slept in their treetops or lazy huts, thunderous lighting burst from the clouds, as bloody and boney men pulled out their spear, their swords and their maces!
With a roaring cry so loud, the men screamed the words, BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! As they raised the huts to the ground! But as the woman shatters to flee or fight, to stand their ground amongst the heretics. This night truly proved who was friend from foe! For as the woman who separated themselves into groups ranging from strong to weak, this night proved who… were the weak!
For as the night guards were gutted by spears or cut down by swords or crushed under mace, their blood oozed into the flowing river, where ravaging monsters laid in wait for a feast, they so happily awaited! But as the recruit's number dwindled, a girl named Molly ready her chain blade for a stand! For as her blade cut through her foe's weak weapon, his blood splatter in a magnificent painting of red, a color who only made their foes eager for more!
As the men were lost in a sea of red, Molly screamed:
[For the god emperor!]
As she charged headfirst into a savage group of men who just got done gutting a few recruits! Thankfully she wasn't alone, for as she ran full speed ahead, many more recruits got up from the ground with missing limbs or trailing innards and ran alongside her! As if they were in a trance themselves, for inside their mind… inside their souls... They felt it… the emperor's call!
With fear successfully in the back of their minds, they boldly jumped into the fray! With raging hearts and fiery souls, their eyes burned with a passion of satisfaction! For even in death, they served the emperor will! In the end though… when all was calm… where the rain stopped… the thunderous cloud ceased their song… there stood alone in the mix of blood and ash… was Molly!
As she looked around, all she saw around her was death… No life but death! But even in death, she saw no tears, nor did she see any down casted faces! For, on each sister, she only saw glee on their faces!
Seeing herself alone, Molly picked up what she could carry and made her way back into the jungle night, as she saw a small smoke burning in the distance… But as she left, she failed to see her sister's bodies being dragged away… all while hearing the clanking noise of something hidden in the trees she long since passed.
Ignoring the sounds of the jungle night creatures, she slowly made her way to the timid smoke, as a big brawly bald man raised from his seat of iron and blood and said:
[We have split much blood tonight, but our god still isn't satisfied! So tonight, we killed each other! We must satiate his hunger for blood!]
With roaring cheers, the men and women of their cult gladly and joyfully split their own blood before the big bloody moon that hangs from above! But while their leader looked amongst the chaos with an ever-present smile, he turned to look into the distance at a growing fire!
With the burning embers in his eye, the man shouted:
[tonight! Though our foes' blood ran like a fountain, while ours was drunk by the earth, we still have a fight left to finish! For our god demands of us to spill all the blood in this jungle! For I see in the distance a spark of which should have ended! But since it is not… our brave brothers and sister must have been slaughtered! What a fine ending they must have received! To die is to bring glory to our god!]
[though there may not be many of us left! We still must fulfill our god's edict! For right now as that smoke burns in the distance it is but an insult to our god… to our will… to our destiny! A calling smoke… a smoke in which we must and will snuff out! For if we fail to do this… I fear our god will abandon us… for he will believe us weak… weak like these women that stand against us! That stands against our god! But more importantly that stands against our truth! The truth! That the only way to salvation is through blood! And not through a false and dying emperor!]
[so, raise up with me my brothers… my sisters… let's go and either convert them into seeing the truth… or have them become it!]
But through their howls and cheers, those who watched through cherub eyes had different plans!
[I see you let them grow too big… you were meant to only tolerated them to some extent, they were only meant to teach the new recruits the danger of chaos, while also testing their medal…] said the Canoness
[But mam! In truth we got exactly what we wanted… for as much as we hate chaos… we can't afford to have week recruits who can't hold their own in a fight against it… the weak die and the strong return like that molly…] said supervisor
[I see… guards see this one off to the penitents!] demand the Canoness
[then after that, arrange a team and head down into the jungle with me! We're going to finish those followers of Korn!] demand the Canoness
