Jin Lan was about to say something else, but Jin Chenye didn’t give her a chance. He paused in his stride and walked out of the airport.

With a rebellious stomp of her foot, she followed him reluctantly.

“Miss, dinner is ready. The master asked you to come out and eat,” the butler dutifully stood outside Qin Youxuan’s room, respectfully knocking on the door.

Qin Youxuan was defiant and wild, but she wouldn’t openly disrespect the servants.

Upon hearing the butler’s voice, she crawled out of bed, running her fingers through her long hair. “I got it.”

Eating dinner… her father would never have cared about whether she ate or not before.

Could it be that, with Jin Chenye’s return, his paternal love had also reawakened?

With a derisive smile on her lips, Qin Youxuan nonchalantly moved off the bed, casually grabbing a hairpin from her vanity and tying up her long hair.

Revealing her slender neck, seductive clavicles, her delicate figure exuding a little less wildness and a bit more of the grace befitting a young lady of a distinguished family.

Few straggly strands of hair fell down beside her ear, somehow adding an indescribable charm.

Every move she made seemed to possess a mesmerizing power.

She changed out of her pajamas and confidently exited her room.

Originally, she disdained eating with that mother-son duo, but by not showing up, she’d instead appear faint-hearted.

Besides, festering alone isn’t fun. Better to come out and stir up trouble for everyone else.

Perhaps that would cheer her up!

“Wow, this is shaping up to be a full banquet. I didn’t witness such fuss when I returned from abroad, ” Qin Youxuan casually remarked upon entering the dining room and spotting the spread of delicious dishes.

Her sarcasm was palpable.

Despite being a child born in wedlock, she was less important than the bastard son. This was certainly a joke beyond belief.

She wondered if her deceased mother knew, would she rise from the grave in anger…

“Stop talking such nonsense. You come back without a word, obviously just to enrage me. Did you truly expect me to have time to arrange anything?!” Qin MO, who had just entered with Jin Lan in tow, heard Qin Youxuan’s disparaging remarks. The smile on his face, vanished completely.

“If I didn’t come back, I’m not sure there would still be a place for me in this house. The illegitimate son has returned to claim his inheritance, am I supposed to wait till everyone knows and still play the fool?”

Ignoring bewildered looks, Qin Youxuan pulled up a chair and gracefully sat down. She raised her sly eyebrows towards Qin MO, “Dad, have you gone senile? Do I look that naive to you?”

“You…”

“Oh, and you haven’t had a heart attack yet?” Crowned with a cold smirk, Qin Youxuan interrupted.

“Impudent! Are you rebelling against me?!” Furious, Qin MO slammed his hand on the table even before he had taken his seat.

Upon entering the dining room, Jin Chenye was met with this scene of hostility, causing the wrinkles on his forehead to deepen.

“Dad, Mom…”

“Chenye, have you changed your clothes? Come, sit next to your father!” The moment Jin Lan saw Jin Chenye, her previously stern expression bloomed into a warm smile.

Almost fifty years old and still acting sweet and innocent, what a difficult act!

Qin Youxuan snickered coldly in response and let the butler serve her a bowl of soup, disregarding everyone and beginning to eat.

“The taste is really good! The Chef’s skills are improving. Butler, I want another bowl. ”

Having slurped down a bowl of soup in no time, Qin Youxuan signaled for a refill.

Everyone else was still standing, vet she had already begun eating, completely disregarding the star of the evening.

The atmosphere suddenly turned gloomy.

“What’s the matter? Surely it’s not a crime to want another bowl of soup, right?”
